| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/14/2009 12:05:03 PM | I'm arguing that it is nearly impossible to GAIN 15-25 lbs in a 24 hour period as the poster was claiming that Brock did between the weigh in which was July 10th at 6 pm and the fight which was July 11th at 8pm, or whenever it started. Fighters do this often. My wrestler and rower friends in high school used to do this as well. If they did the weight in inside the Octagon right before the fight, you might see a shift in the rankings (probably not in heavyweights). But I understand why they wouldn't (a huge PPV fight being disqualified at last second because somebody didn't make weight...).
Dana is saying in no unequivocal terms that Fedor is coming to the UFC, just a matter of when. I'm sure you all know, but Fedor has one more fight left on his contract with Affliction, and after that Dana claims he's going to make a big play. He understands the road blocks to this happening, he's tried before, yet he's confident, so I'm psyched. I wonder if a part of him wants Brock to be put in his place a bit after Lesnar turned UFC's commemorative 100th show into a clown fest.

Look at GSP's interview after the fight.... he said and I quote "I'm not that big for a welterweight (170 btw) right now I'm only 184-185 ....if it's all water that they cut....it's not so hard to drink lots to gain it back....and they NEED to gain it back...I'd imagine dehydrating yourself like that is really hard on your body......
Fedor's the only guy who has a chance of beating that beast....and I'd still only give him 50/50 ....if Brock continues to completely neutralize his opponents on the mat....nobody's gonna beat him....so now...instead of having a heavyweight division with only a little competition....we've got one with NO competition....and it's ruled by a f*ckin' hack.....

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/14/2009 1:40:09 PM | Dumb fans love it...I watched it again...what a rediculously boring fight.... If you're tuning in just to see if he gets knocked out...you're probably wasting your money....look at the size of his neck....
you watched it again......so? if you watch it twice...does that make you twice as dumb..

the only way Fedor will beat Brock is by submission.
bring on Shane Carwin .
any thing can happen when your dealing with power that is unmatched by the heavy weight division.

If you don't agree with my opinion...why don't you present an intelligent argument...instead of not so subtly suggesting that I am dumb.....
I gotta give Brock some credit....he knows how to get people riled up...he certainly got me riled up....but in the end...when the dust settles....I certainly won't be paying money to watch that guy fight....do we really need our kids emulating someone like that?
Shane Carwin got rocked by Gonzaga before he threw a desperate punch that ended it all.....what's gonna happen when you're dealing with the power of a 300 lb monster? You'd be insane to bet against him.....
Weight classes are in place to maintain a certain level of competition....we saw a perfect example of what happens when fighters get c*cky and try to fight the champions of higher weight classes (GSP/BJ II) ....Dana's gone and thrown that out the window in the heavyweight division....it's too bad the integrity of the sport takes a back seat to munching down a bunch of useless green paper....but Lesnar's just like Dana....ego's out of control...and you can really sense the insecurity leaking through Brocks act......

God willing little kids aren't up until midnight watching this stuff, I'd call that bad parenting.

That's you though, you can't speak for everyone else who more than likely will pay to see him fight.
I wasn't aware that kids needed to look up to these guys as role models, guys who beat the crap out of each other for a living.

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/14/2009 6:20:33 PM | I think Fedor could beat him by more than a sub.
His chin hasn't been truly tested yet.
If Brock played it stupid and stood right infront of Fedor without taking him down, Fedor could very well finish it right then and there.
Now I know people will say that Brock is huge and he has a thick neck and a big head. But Fedor doesn't just hit someone once. He has a tendency to throw in flurries.
And if he got a flurry off, I could see him seriously hurting Brock.
Brock is not unstoppable.

Desperate punch??? get a grip...Shane has larger hands than Brock. When he knocked out Gonzaga there was nothing desperate about it.

tested or not I don't think Fedor has the power or boxing skills to knock out Brock.
But he can submit him......

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/15/2009 4:49:20 AM | | Fedor is not a great boxer. Arlovski was dominating him with strikes. And Brock is not stupid enough to stand in front of Fedor anyway. He wouldn't even stand in front of Mir, who landed a few good strikes before being taken down. Brock has a nice shiner from where Frank caught him on the face. | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 7/15/2009 1:22:33 PM | Lesnar Vs. Fedor!
it's going down!
it isn't written in stone yet.
Fedor hasn't even signed concerning UFC all we hear right now is Dana White flapping his gums to fill seats and sell tickets .
If Brock is smart he'd get some more experience under his belt by fighting the out come of a Cain Velasquez vs Shane Carwin match.
UFC officials have met with Emelianenko and his representatives multiple times. However, the meetings proved far from productive and often left each side blaming the other for the inability to get a deal done. The UFC said Emelianenko's demands were too outrageous, not necessarily from a monetary standpoint (though Emelianenko is believed to make at least $2 million per fight) but because a deal would essentially require the organization to enter the Russian market as business partners with Emelianenko's manager, Vadim Finkelchtein. Emelianenko's people say the UFC's contract demands are too restrictive without any allowances, for example, for Sambo competitions and would dictate all aspects of the fighter's career.
