Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends.

now I curious to know what you guys think love is ?
All the great ideas in the world about what love is or how we recognize it, won't bring us any closer to finding it.
To find it, we need to understand how to DO it.
When we know how to be loving toward someone loving us, love exists.
Of course, that leads to all those beautiful descriptions.
Which comes first?
The action, of course. All of life includes cause and effect. Cause is action. Effect, the state of "love" follows.
Still, we love poetry, don't we. | |

Wanting only him/her
Counting the mins to seeing him/her again
Able to forgive that person
Love them although they r not perfect

I want to see that person alive, healthy, smiling and doing well, not hurting or injured or disappointed... I may even worry about who or what I love... I'll get involved in anyway I can to keep them safe and happy, I'll even stay away if it would make them feel better...
Love to me, is alot of things, good and terrible, but always given for the purpose of bringing about a positive outcome that is uplifting and a source of hope. | |

Love is trust.
Love is caring and compassion.
Love is wanting to fall asleep and wake up with that person every day.
Love is knowing that you can spend forever with this person and enjoy every minute of it [even through the bad stuff]
Living to make them happy.
Thinking about them almost nonstop.
Wanting to share your life with them.
Love is being unhappy until you see that smile on your partner's face.
Being giddy just because you can do housework with the one you love.
When someone else sees all the flaws in your partner but when you look at them you see nothing but an angel.
Love to me.....is when you cry more happy tears than sad tears.

We are different and unity is brought about by the sincere desire to see that person grow into their giftedness, for their own sakes, and so they can put those gifts to the service of the community at large. 1 corinthians , verse 13 is the guidelines to accomplish that and its end result is unity.

An all-encompassing state of mind, heart and soul while you are a child - directed toward your parents.
A belief that it is something other than lust as a teen.
A self-deluded concept as an adult as applied toward lustful dating interests. We're all taught we're supposed to "love" the person we're with, romantically - even though that person doesn't really equal anything more than any other romance we're involved with at any other point in our lives. The only difference is - when the lust factor begins to dissipate, you need a lawyer in order to break up.

I don't buy into all of it but I definitely agree that different people express their love in different ways. If you want your message to be received it is best if you use one of the "dominant" communication methods of your partner instead of your own... Of the 5 "languages" I tend to use only about 3... | |

Love gives you strength you never knew you could possess.
Loves gives you joy in your heart, beyond description.
True love is a two way street...
and I second what BigDaddy Jinx said - you don't ever see the person you love in any other way than when you met them...and it doesn't matter if it's bingo or canasta or a trip to 7-11 for a quart of milk - it's a wonderful experience, whatever it is, because they are with you.

Well, for me, it is submission. It's being trusted by her, in exchange for my caring for her.
But, so far, it's only worked for 13 years.

Tooters of to indulge in a plate of ice cream as i find this indulgent nonsense rubbish (IMO of course) *smiles
whilst screaming at the girls look at me if you want an individual and not some regurgitated pantaloons rot who is keen to tell ye what ye need to hear
