Come on...anchor baby? A baby an illegal has (first or millionth of many) to get welfare.
How do they get welfare without have legal papers? Most are afraid to expose themselves to arms of government.
and Byrd, sound like your state is being ravaged of late.
I was watch TV last night about grow houses and the searching of the hills for growing weed. Nice looking weed, I must say. ~ I'm retied myself, but I know good weed when i see it.
I'm not sure how bad the "weed" problem is and if it just a few just over reacting.
I do know your state has too many illegals to sustain it's present direction.
Mexican are not lazy people and they don't go around killing people over God Issues, but women and dope? you bet'cha.
But for the most part, they are hunter/gathers from the 18th and 19 the century trying to survive in the 21 Century.
The answers to this most difficult problem lies in Mexico. We here in the US ~ our government can only help the Mexico's government perhaps.
It's going to take both governments working together to offer any correction in this matter.
In the meantime, Byrd ~ somke'em if you got'em.

We got along for a time she got herself an illegal man no problem I liked the guy, he was cool but soon both he and her started trying to intimadate. My health not that great I was alittle afraid. But then they started lying to the landlord I aien't rich don't really have anywhere to go I was seriously considering buying a gun. One day my stimulas came in and I bought a scanner just to listen to ended up getting a job which involves the scanner listening to it all the time. I think they were into "Hard stuff" it freaked em out, I think. Which made me very suspicous heard some calls that might have involved them but unless it's some rape or murder of someone that doesn't have it comming I mind my own business but they finally moved. The ***hole threw a bullet in my house too what a punk. That's when I was thinking about a gun. I pray they get everything that's comming to them. As far as weed I'm medical so I get it legal. When all those fires were going on they were finding fields left and right, I'd rather buy American weed. I still feel the same way about all people that punk aien't gonna change my mind about Mexicans there's criminals everywhere. | |

I would try to make my life better in Mexico first and legally get into America...But from what I gather the corruption is horrible there. If I had to support my Family by working in America and sending my money home to Mexico I would illegally cross the boarder.

I would try to make my life better in Mexico first and legally get into America...But from what I gather the corruption is horrible there.
I think America should try to focus on rebuilding itself so it can regain superpower status again before trying to fix the problems of other countries.
People love to use 2 specific arguments in this whole thing.
- If it were you who was backed into a corner
- Mexicans work really hard.
Firstly, I can fully understand the idea of living in poverty and having to struggle, but at the same time, stealing bread, money, or jobs from innocent people isn't justified to those innocent people. One of the managers at my work got his car stolen while he was working. I guess I'm just supposed to just think "It's OK. He probably had his back against the wall, and the money that he gets for scrapping that car for parts will go towards feeding his family." And of course the people/companies that are being stolen from [probably] have insurance, therefore committing these crimes is still A-OK.
Secondly, just because you have seen hard working Mexicans combined with the fact that you have seen some lazy Americans, it doesn't mean that those hard working Mexicans are more entitled to the job. Being lazy, in and of itself, isn't breaking the law. And there are plenty of hardworking Americans that would be willing to take that spot, especially in this job market.
My friend was told by the manager of some place that he was looking to work that the manager only hires illegals simply because of the amount of money that he can keep for himself. Moreover, one of the illegals he was talking to mentioned that about 70% of the money he makes goes back to his family in his country.
I guess it's OK though because a random illegal Mexican that's in poverty is more worthy of an American job than an a random American that's in poverty.
I'm starting to think that more people like Joe Arpaio should come out of the woodwork. | |

(was top 10 dealer in USA 4 years in a row) A lot of my customers were illegal immigrants (they worked for American owners) and most came to me because I did not discriminate and treated them with respect and I spoke a little Spanish. (and didn't rip them off by overcharging them) A few tried to buy expensive mowers.......... The bank would call me back and ask me how old this Mexican was? Oh about 30 years old or so? The bank said according to his Social Security number he was 85 years old! and had 15 aliases. None of them ever got approved except a few with old white sugar women paying the ways.
People it is time to make a stand !!! Things are no longer the same here in the USA! Our county is BROKE! we no longer can be part of this political money pit. We have 5 million USA citizens unemployed since this time last year!! Keep in mind the Self employed can not file for unemployment (not included in the 5 millon unemployed number). Companies without employees grew by 22 millon per year since 2007
US business bankruptcy filings has jumped 64% 711,550 filings first half of 2009 522,205 for 2008 so add those numbers to people no longer being able to stay solvent!!!
I really like the mexican people but you bleeding heart liberals are going to put the USA in a position to not recover from this Depression we are in. Our Industrial base and Manufacturing base has picked up and moved to Asia and South america!! People it is time to make a stand !!!
Great post Rumissingmeyet. One of the best I have ever seen on these forums. That sums up everything.
To the question the op asked. I don't know what I would do. I guess I would live off the land. I have some very good friends and they would help me out also.
Here are some important points.
1) What would happen to us if we snuck into any other country Illegally? We would be arrested and either deported or thrown into prison.
2) There are to many Americans without work to let illegals take the jobs.
3) They are hard workers but so are most Americans also.
4) It is a myth that the cost of produce would skyrocket. Farmers say it would go up like two percent.
5) Amnesty for them is just to buy votes and secure power.
I know a lot of people out of work that would do anything for a job. My heart goes out to the Mexicans or any other country that is in the same boat they are in. It is up to them to fix their own country. Its called revolution. If they need help then ask us to help them.
I have a Phillapino that is one of my best friends. He and his wife came here legally around twenty years ago and just this year took the oath to become citizens. They are now very proud to be an American. They do hold duel citizenship. They just voted for the very first time this last election. It is unfair to them for any form of amnesty.
I love our country and what it stands for. If someone wants to build a better life for themselves and their family I am all for it. Freedom is a very special thing.
***Please check in at the front gate first***. Do it right. We don't need any more riff raff. There are to many mexican gangs that are running rampant. I can't blame them but the cost of them being here is just to much. I can't afford any more taxes or (fees). We need to crack down on employers that want to have cheaper labor. I am in DC right now for a week or so for my job. All the workers that are doing renovations on the houses I have seen are Mexican. I am sure that there are just as capable American construction workers that would love the work. I'm talking at least 50. And that is just around one small area.

4. 617, or 41 %, were sexual homicides and serial murders by illegal aliens. "The murders were the worst of the sex crimes and were especially vicious. The crime scenes were very bloody, expressing intense, angry perpetrator personalities. Specifically, most victims were blitzed, rendered incapable of fighting back, and then raped and murdered. Hispanics were second, and African Americans were third."
5. Schurman-Kauflin states that the illegal alien population includes 240,000 sex offenders – a "conservative estimate," she says. She goes on to say, "This translates to 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sexual offenders coming across U.S. borders illegally per day." She points out the 1,500 offenders in her study had a total of 5,999 victims, an average of four victims for each sex offender and says, "This places the estimate for victimization numbers around 960,000 for the 88 months examined in this study."
6. The Schurman-Kauflin study noted that "Nearly 63% of the offenders had been deported on another offense prior to the sex crime." Note the word "deported," something that often comes up when we are talking about the crimes committed by illegal aliens. That means they were once removed from the country but came back in again to commit the crime! In this case, lack of any serious border security allowed the additional crime to happen – an additional 82,473 sex crimes – per year!
7. "Illegal immigrants who commit sex crimes first cross the U.S. border illegally. Then they gradually commit worse crimes and are continually released back into society or deported. Those who were deported simply returned illegally again. Only 2% of the offenders in this study has no history of criminal behavior, beyond crossing the border illegally. There is a clear pattern of criminal escalation. From misdemeanors such as assault or DUI, to drug offenses, illegal immigrants who commit sex crimes break U.S. laws repeatedly. They are highly mobile, work in low skilled jobs with their hands, use drugs and alcohol, are generally promiscuous, have little family stability, and choose victims who are easy to attack. Their attacks are particularly brutal, and they use a hands-on method of controlling and/or killing their victims."
8, "Women and girls are trafficked from many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Mexico is the number one source for young female sex slaves in North America. Tlaxcala, in Central Mexico serves as a hotbed for slave traders. Young women and girls are abducted, tricked, and sometimes sold by poor families into a caged life. Highly prized are 12 year old girls sneaking across the border into the United States. The girls are grabbed by Los Lenones, aka pimps, and dragged to unfamiliar areas where they are ‘broken in.' It is well known that this often occurs in Mexico. The initiation process entails 20-30 men per day having brutal sex with the girls and women. Victims are beaten, drugged, and repeatedly raped until their wills are broken. It is then that the sale is possible.
9, "Recently an outbreak of hepatitis traced to Chi-Chi's Mexican restaurant, in Pennsylvania was inexplicably traced to contaminated green onions, not the most obvious cause, undocumented food workers who harbored Hepatitis. For the most part, Hepatitis is a blood-borne, not a food-borne disease. The Hepatitis outbreak infected over 650 individuals, caused 9,000 Americans to undergo immune globulin shots, and killed 4 people.
If Americans found out restaurants can commonly infect their customers from food workers, it would be a serious blow to the restaurant industry. Better blame the green onions. Let's concede the onions, grown in Mexico, were contaminated from fecal material containing Hepatitis. Did all the green onions imported from Mexico end up in one single restaurant? There were no other outbreaks of Hepatitis anywhere elsewhere from green onions. There were 13 mexican restaurant workers who had Hepatitis. They were the likely source of the transmitted infection.
All these diseases and pathogens, and a plethora of others that are not endemic to the US, are being brought in by unscreened illegal aliens who then spread them to an unsuspecting population. These diseases will give you something to think about the next time you are eating at a restaurant with the grunt work being done by illegal aliens who didn't have medical screening before preparing and handling your food.
10. However, the direct cost of educating the children of illegal aliens is somewhere between $29 and $35 BILLION dollars a year. You can add in another billion or two for the costs of supplemental feeding programs and other welfare benefits administered through the schools but which are off the "education costs" in the school budgets.
Most illegal aliens are working in lower paying jobs are often sharing houses and apartments with other families. Most pay little or no state or federal income taxes and, because they have low incomes and frugal lifestyles, they pay little sales taxes as well. The local and state taxes illegal aliens pay, comes no where near paying for the education costs of their children. The difference is picked up by the tax paying public. Since many localities fund public schools through real estate taxes, this often means escalating taxes which put an enormous burden on elderly home owners living on fixed incomes.
11. Digressing for a moment, what the hell was a convicted, illegal alien sex offender even doing out of jail or not immediately deported – even if 63% do come right back - let alone roaming around the neighborhoods while on a registry! Has the judicial system in this country gone insane?
In any case, Operation Predator began on July 9, 2003, and resulted in 6,085 child predator arrests throughout the country - an average of roughly 250 arrests per month and eight arrests per day. While arrests have been made in every state, the most have occurred in these states: Arizona (207), California (1,578), Florida (255), Illinois (282), Michigan (153), Minnesota (190), New Jersey (423), New York (367), Oregon (148) and Texas (545).
While Operation Predator was a noble effort and ICE is to be commended, it only made a small dent in the criminal activity and number of horrific crimes being committed by illegal alien child sexual predators.
12. An article in the San Francisco Chronicle stated that Mexicans living in the U.S. send between $6 and $8 billion back to their families every year, making them the third-biggest legitimate force in the Mexican economy, after oil and tourism. Additionally, US taxpayers pay for all the direct and indirect costs of "housing" the Mexican illegal aliens. In essence, it's an unofficial form of foreign aide. Mexico isn't about to control its borders, since Mexicans fleeing their country for work in the U.S. send plenty of money back to their own country.
While the $6-8 billion number is often quoted, a fairly recent story in The Brownsville Herald, Banks seek stake in billions sent home, notes that some estimates place the amount of dollars going south in 2006 will be $45 Billion, which was up from an estimated $30 Billion in 2004.
Regardless of the amount, all that money is leaving the US economy and not creating additional job opportunities here. Additionally, all that money represents jobs Americans used to have.
13. "All the research suggests that the reason illegal aliens create large fiscal [deficits] for the country is not their legal status, but rather their educational attainment. Sixty percent of illegals are thought not to have even a high school education, another twenty percent, a high school education only. All the research suggests that people with relatively little education make relatively little money in the modern American economy ...[As] a consequence, they tend to pay relatively little in taxes, even if they are legal and on the books.
At the same time, [these individuals] tend to use a fair amount in public services, reflecting their lower incomes. I estimate illegals pay about $16 billion a year to the Federal Government in taxes ... the difference between what they pay in taxes and use in services is about $10 billion. So right now the net drain on the Federal Government alone from illegal families is about $10 billion. If we began to legalize [these individuals] and they began to pay taxes and use services like legal immigrants with the same level of education, the net fiscal drain would roughly triple to nearly $30 billion."
14. The United States currently has one of the lowest rates of TB in the world. Mexico has 10 times the rate and killing over 400,000 in mexico each year.
15. Chagas Disease (American Trypanosomiasis), endemic to South and Central America, is spread by infected triatomine bugs, known as the "kissing bugs," that bite people. It was unknown in the United States until fairly recently. It is now estimated that between 100,000 and 500,000 people in the US have Chagas Disease. Who is infected? Mostly illegal aliens.
Since Chagas Disease is basically unknown outside of the illegal alien community most doctors won't recognize it and the blood supply just started being screened for it. Most cases of Chagas Disease that occur in patients other than illegal aliens are thought to be contracted from tainted blood – blood sold by illegal aliens with Chagas Disease before the blood supply started being tested for it as of August of 2006.
16. HIV The number of illegal Mexican and Central American immigrants with HIV or AIDS is unknown, mostly because researchers rarely ask about immigration status. However, it is known that the rate of HIV infection among Latino women in California is about twice the rate of white women. At one free California health clinic, all of the women that had HIV or AIDS were Mexican or Central American "immigrants."
17. To make matters worse, in excess of 7,000 new cases of leprosy have been diagnosed in the U.S. in the past three years. As the “Silent Invasion” report concludes, “illegal alien immigrants from Brazil and up through Mexico have fueled the resurgence into the United States.”
18. Malaria was eradicated from the USA in the 1940s but recently there were outbreaks in southern California, New Jersey, New York City, and Houston. Additionally, Malaria tainted blood has been discovered in the blood supply donated by latinos.
19. In 2006 , 21,807 of the 39,537 people, 54.3%, arrested on DUI charges in california. were Hispanic.
The article goes on, "When crashes occur, it is not uncommon for Hispanic drivers – often intoxicated and unlicensed – to flee before troopers arrive. According to State Police records, about a third of accidents involving migrant workers are hit-and-run. State Trooper Koushel said migrants often cannot be conclusively identified when they're stopped for a violation or involved in an accident." "Many", he said, "are illegal aliens who carry fake or invalid driver's licenses". "Because of that", he said, "many fail to show up in court. It's almost like writing a ticket to a ghost."

Or maybe ALL of us should start looking at term limits and working on stopping this as a problem.
Better yet......We can get the Obama to realize how worthy this is as a "shovel ready" project and build a wall.....or maybe a large number of shovel ready graves could be dug as a warning to not try crossing a sovereign line anymore.
Either way...works for me...

That you would have a better life, would you cross the boarder illegally? Or would you stay in Mexico and try to make your life better there?
Before I crossed *a* border illegally...or robbed a bank illegally...or robbed you, OP illegally, I would try to make my life better wherever I was. And if I couldn't legally make my life better where I was, I would try my damndest to do so elsewhere...legally.
There was a show on the history of latin music (especially chicano) in the USA on TV last night. It showcased the plight they, as minorities, had to endure to 'make it' in the biz...even if that meant portraying themselves as white...naming their bands/selves 'white', etc.
They showed a band called Los Tigres del Norte...The Tigers of the North...whose music is essentially regarding their feelings on this exact topic. While Los Tigres were illegal when they came here, they've since been granted citizenship (via amnesty). They are the #1 selling latin band in the USA.
I believe we are more entwined with Mexico and the hispanic culture in our Country than we are with Canada. However, since Canada is more developed, has a higher GDP, trades with us in real goods other than narcotics, etc. it's almost as if Mexico isn't even recognized as 'part' of North America...they're the red-headed stepchild. It's a sad fact and one I hope is remedied within our Continent sooner than later.
That said, no OP...I'm not for 'people' of ANY Country crossing our borders without proper documentation. Ignore the economics of it for a minute and contemplate the national security issues.

I'm not blind I see what's going on our goverment isn't lifting a finger to stop it and don't blame Obama George Jr. left the illegals alone he wanted the Latino vote. Plus those fellas come over here to work use phoney ss numbers phoney names never got their yearly taxes back. The question I ask basically says it all. Then there's the other thing all the wonderful American companies moving into Mexico for cheap labor, capitalist pigs and they aien't got no bleeding hearts. | |

This was covered on another thread, but this apparent bloodlust at large in the US is perplexing.
State-sponsored murder makes a mockery of any nation's claims of social advancement. It's basically an admission of defeat because it doesn't address the cause of the problem. | |

Posted: 10/22/2009 8:02:00 AM | Here's the real question: if you were desperately poor, would you do whatever it took to survive, to feed yourself and your family? If you saw only one possible route of escape from dire poverty, would you take it even though it could be dangerous? Or, if you were desperately poor and someone who lied about the risks came along promising you take you somewhere where you would no longer be poor, would you go with them?
Unless you yourself are in that situation, you have no way of knowing what you would do. Significant numbers of people drown, die in the desert, or die packed in the back of trucks every year crossing the border illegally. People who do this either are ignorant of the risks they are taking or are so desperate that they will take those risks anyway. Until you are in their shoes, you have no idea what you would do.

Posted: 10/23/2009 6:22:26 PM | | The issue of illegals is like most..subjective...if you own a business and are hiring them for much less than you would have to pay Americans and are getting rich off of them then yeah they're super...if you are retired and they are mowing your lawn or doing you laundry then you can gush about how hard working they are...if you are an American worker who's industry and wages is being affected by them then it's different.The one thing i have seen in the Hispanic population is loyalty to one's own...something most Americans know nothing about...Americans in part have no loyalty to anything except themselves and their own conveinent convictions born out of whether or not they have a horse in the race. | |

American's about as a loyal as a 10 dollar whore.
I hire them myself ~ have too! to compete! plus I can't afford full time help.
I hire when I need tote and fetch labor. I've tried hiring able women ~ I can't depend on finding them when they are needed. I tried hiring American men, black , white and brown. I can't depend on finding them when they are needed. But I can always find a Mexican, ~ I might have to clean him up, ~ shirt and pants ~ depending on the job.
The state has enacted laws recently ~ every man on the job must be registered with the state. ~ Kind of a squeeze play really ~ If I comply and other don't ~ who's at a disadvantage? ~ and what customer cares? To comply mean full time staffing ~ that's 20,000 per year mimium and really more like 35,000. Bottom line the final market price can't stand up to the load. I might as well, sit on the porch, play my violin and spit.
This is the kind of complex problems we face.
