| 1st annual fish picnic-Sunday July 26th 2009 at Willow Springs woods Posted: 7/16/2009 7:22:40 PM | | "Yes...Ron is correct in talking about Caribbean day This Sunday July 19. Tinley Park is having their Annual 11th "Carribean Beach Block Party" which starts at 12 Noon and ends at 7:00PM. The Caribbean Block party is located on Oak Park avenue from 171st to 173rd street(to railroad tracks). For those 2 long blocks, the huge crowd, the party-goers will be strolling the streets with liquor refreshments and food items. All the good restaurants and bars on Oak Park avenue will have their portable stands set-up to sell liquor(beer, wine, tropical drinks) soda, water and food items to the crowd. Their are 2 band stages set up for 4 local bands performing which are "Funhouse", "5GuysNamedMoe", "Billy-Boys" and "Mr. Meier". This is one big beach block party and throngs of part-goers show up and have a good time drinking, socializing and dancing in the street to the music. If you have kids and want to bring them...their are fun games for the kids to partcipate but be prepared it might be a long day for the kids to walk around. "Everyone is invited", just bring your party-attitude and have a good time. Some of us POF people are already planning to be there so look for familiar faces. Since this is always a Caribbean theme, alot of people dress-up in a "beach-like" or "Hawaiian" style so try to dress the part.(Hawaiian leis, grass skirts, beach-tops or halter tops) Parking is available "East, West of Oak Park Avenue" or just south of the railroad tracks(173rd st) or just north of 171st street. See Everyone there and get ready for the biggest block party of the summer. Jim.(Goody-bag) | |

| 1st annual fish picnic-Sunday July 26th 2009 at Willow Springs woods Posted: 7/17/2009 9:05:20 AM | OK fishes, I talked to Ron and the special use Permit is covered. We had to take out some extra insurance in case anyone gets hurt. (hopefully that wont happen) I have the generator and extension cords covered. I"m bringing some extra food and beer. I"ve never heard of huckleberries and don"t know where to get them. Anyone know of this please let me know so I can help cover our DJ. (gottadance). Ron and I have to be their at 8:30 am so we can set up and do some cleaning. I will have some signs posted with red ballons along the major routes. The party begins at 11:00 sharp. I have the volleyball and net covered as well as (1) one set of bags, horseshoes, frisbees, softball (16 inch), and bat. I also wanted to let you know that there is NO WATER AT THIS PRESERVE. I will fill up a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water and I have provisions for filling the water ballons. PLEASE EVERYONE, lets keep the water away from the DJ and his equipment and the generator. I went out and bought my secret weapon so if I get wet,...BE PREPARED!!!!!! WE should all have a good time. Goodybag: I"m going to Tinley Park this Sunday cause I know the bass guy in 5 guys named moe. I used to work with him. They are a great band and I haven"t seen them in a while. Anyone not yet signed up for this party you dont know what your missing out on. Only 9 days left...............WHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO | |
