That reminded me. When I was young and convinced there were monsters in the dark, I had it figured out that as long as I was completely covered from my neck down and had my eyes closed, I was safe. I could not have my hands or arms outside of the blankets. It's funny because I still feel most comfortable sleeping that way, but at least it's no longer a requirement. LOL

I remember being young and being convinced that a tiger had crawled underneath my bed. Too many Esso adverts as a little un.

It's not a phobia but I don't feel easy with feet, they kinda freak me out.

Large dogs, although I have gotten over it somewhat. I wouldn't exactly call it an irrational fear as I have been seriously bitten twice, including once on my face that required a number of stitches.

Ladders. I cannot climb ladders with less than 4 legs on the ground. The 2-3 step painting ladders are fine, but getting up on a roof is next to impossible for me (once on the roof, I'm fine).

The most serious would be fire extinguishers. Long story behind this one, but I would most likely not be able to stop myself from seriously hurting anyone who sprayed me with one (again). Just holding one near me sets off my sympathetic 'fight' response.

Primates really freak me out, especially baboons!!

I also have to use a mechanical tooth brush because using a manual one makes me very uncomfortable. I think it's a combo of the sound and feeling of the brush in my mouth against my teeth and gums. Fortunatly spin-brushes were invented!!

Phobias? I'm not the biggest fan of heights. That whole 'don't look down' thing works...but who the heck has that kind of self discipline.

Idiosyncrasies? Doing the whole math thing setting my alarm clock. For example, I set the clock 15 minutes ahead. Each 'snooze' lasts 9 minutes...I usually hit the snooze button 4-5 times...that's 36 to 45 minutes of snooze time. So, if I need to be up at 6:10 a.m., minus the 45 minute snooze, would mean the alarm gets set for 5:35 a.m. (Don't forget to add that 15 minutes of ahead time) = set alarm for 5:50 a.m. It's a lot harder than it sounds after a couple glasses of cabernet.

Oh, just thought of another one...when I'm spreading something on a piece of bread...doesn't matter what...peanut butter, mayo, jelly, etc. I must make sure the entire bread is covered with said spreadable...no gaps, holes, cracks and it absolutely cannot be overflowing onto the crust...no no no...baaaaaaadddd.

mushrooms

What kind of fear do you have of them, as in you can't touch them or smell them, eat them...or can't even see them?

Clowns. Do I have to say more? I wouldn't run screaming from one, but at the same time I certainly do not like them at all. I don't even know why. Perhaps I seen the movie "It" one too many times as a child..lol. I actually can't watch that movie even as an adult.

I live in an extremely hilly place with a lot of winding roads set on the sides of clifts. Combined with a fear of heights, I don't have a great reaction if I'm in a car where the driver is speeding and/or messing around (like pretending to lose control of the car).

Not a phobia, but I do get anxious and panicky if I feel trapped somehow. Being pinned down and tickled could get the other person some serious injuries.

Idiosyncrasies....

I can't stand it when people scrape their fork off their teeth. The feeling of metal on my teeth just icks me out so much that even hearing other people doing it makes my skin crawl.

I'll only repeat myself once in a conversation. If I'm talking to someone who interrupts me constantly, or asks me something then won't let me answer then I'll stop talking.
