Lots of people get lots of mail on here, however it's the quailty of the mail that counts isn't it? Something that makes you want to engage in conversation with that person and keep that conversation going. I think when people get out there on meets and meet more people then they might get more messages after as a result, I've seen people on the meets threads ask about people who were there but they were too shy to talk to. It's a lot easier to start a conversation when you have something in common to talk about. I think the original comment was about getting a message saying hi babes/sweetie etc, you can tell a mile off when someone has emailed other people exactly the same rubbish or is looking to talk to anyone. Then starts threads on why all women are ****es because they don't reply to the mail that gets sent. | |

I get between 20/50 mails every few days ..
I reply to some, i engage in conversation with a good mail if theyve managed to get through all my many filters theyre already someone i might be interested in...
The ones i ignore are the "youre sexy" or "hi where r u from" etc anything that shows they havent even bothered reading my profile gets ignored, or just "hello". .... nothing else just hello what am i supposed to do with that? it invariably goes with my replying "Hello to you to, how are you?" and him going "im good you", me - Great thanks for asking how are you enjoying the site? - him "its ok do you have msn". ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz then once on msn its "get on cam" 9 times out of 10 it happens, i just cant be bothered with that anymore.
If i dont reply i get called ignorant well tough I dont have the time or the inclination to go through that scenario 10 times a day, i now have a disclaimer on my profile.

I do this! I used to think it was a really cool thing to do......now i know its not cool, not even a little bit (sad smiley)

I agree, i would never start a thread like that! Well...........there was that one time (not at band camp)

Posted: 8/7/2009 7:43:49 AM | TO be fair i always read the persons profile and i always write at least a paragraph and put some effort into a message make a little joke or something, and to be fair im not a bad looking bloke i dont think, but still ALOT of girls just read and dont reply.
I cant complain too much ive had quite alot of replies really and some really good looking girls have replied but then when i try to keep th conversation going its difficult over POF, i think if someone replied you should try and get their MSN or facebook relatively soon or it wont work out that well. | |

I used to be polite and respond to each and every one but sadly I have lost the will for it now! I feel sad that some people will no doubt take it personally that their messages are read and deleted in the same breath and that's unfortunate for them if they do but just as some people have to contend with the harsh reality that they are not good at selling themselves and therefore get few messages, if any, there are those like myself who contend on a daily basis with mindless dribble but with the occasionally gold nugget which keeps me sane....just! I'm mainly here for the forums these days but haven't given up hope entirely with the dating. | |

I find most women will talk to me when i am out on the town attractive or not im pretty average looks wiseand dont stand out. It would appear many guys have given up. Go and do a search in your area how many females online vs male there always seems to be more females "online now" | |
