Why would you agree to meet a man that you talked to for 5 months who was that obsessive about YOUR weight. My 17 yr old daughter is 5'7 and she is 140 and a size 6 but to someone like that I doubt she would have suited him. )
My self worth is fine, thank you. I'm not going to get into a long story about why I'd meet him, it's a waste of my time and yours. You have all probably met somebody from here or somewhere else and perhaps that didn't work either. So my meeting didn't work...I didn't expect to get shot down for it. Many of you will probably meet somebody and that may not work either. Basically, I told him where I was in my fitness level, he lied to me and himself that he was okay with it. By the way...I have more than just personality. Even though I'm not a size six yet, I'm still me and I'm very attractive. You don't even know me to assume I have a self worth issue. I shouldn't even put anything up on these boards, because I know people aren't very nice on them.

| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/17/2009 12:46:56 PM | Some BBWs would complain about men not dating them due to their weight. Yet the same BBWs also would reject short men, bald men, fat men, men from a certain race etc. That is hypocritical.
I agree. There was a thread where a BBW was callling men 'shallow' and 'superficial' for not dating fat women. Yet on her profile, she stated that she was interested in white men and men who were at least 5' 10". The same BBW was also complaining about people being rude to fat women. Yet she was making rude comments about thin women. The bottom line is this. A BBW ( or any woman ) is entitled to date any physical type of man she wants to. But she should accept that many ( not all ) men won't be interested in her due to weight.

| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/17/2009 4:12:57 PM | I had an ex who himself was a BBM and one day I noticed that he had been quite distant and rather abrupt with him and when I asked him why... he said:
"I don't find you attractive anymore."
I myself was a BBW and was rather appalled at his hypocricy and certainly let him know how I felt about his statement, telling him to look in the mirror.
We broke up after that.
Funnily enough, he saw my profile and I recognized him. He would have seen a woman 114lbs lighter. Wonder if he's lost weight (in his profile he had put 'a few extra pounds')

| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/17/2009 7:32:09 PM | | I am attracted to all types of men as far as appearance and body shapes, so since I am a bbw, should I date only larger men and leave the men who are thin or average weight to the thin or average weight women? Sounds crazy to me, but many people seem to believe this is "fair"........ a man with a graduate degree should date a woman with a graduate degree.....this rationale would have a lot of people griping, but it is the same principal as saying fat women should date fat men. Since most men do not want us (according to some posters), we should be glad to settle for any kind of man...(yeah rigtht) | |

I think this is false. Women generally care about looks just as much as men do. There are plenty of women who wouldn't date short men, bald men, men with long hair, thin men, fat men etc. I know men that were either thin or fat. They didn't get much attention from women. Then they started working out and gradually developed an athletic / muscular build. They had a lot more success with women after their body type changed. BTW yes there were some women on this thread who were flexible with body type. But there were plenty of other women on this thread who specifically stated that they were attracted ( or not attracted ) to a certain body type.

It's not what you have, it's what you do with what you have. Any man with a less than average body that dons sweatpants and a dirty t-shirt daily or walks around in clothes that don't fit him because he's too cheap to update his wardrobe is not going to appeal to any woman. Yes appearance is important for both sexes. I know people that if they lost weight, they would still look like a slob and appear to not really care about themselves. Women can pinpoint the exact details why someone may be unappealing whereas men can't picture an overweight woman looking better with the right clothes, some makeup, or a more flattering hairstyle.

That is an interesting comment, and I think it is true, have had trouble articulating a way to explain the difference?..women do care about appearance, but most, I think, have much different criteria then men do..and many, though of course, not all, don't have a specific type that a man has to be...depends on the man...I have dated all sizes and heights, and looks, and I am not the only one...

This is a generalization that does not apply to all or most men. Regardless of body type, I have seen some women become more attractive with better makeup, wardrobe, hairstyle etc. I have also seen some women who dress fairly well and still are unattractive. In other words, I think a woman could be unappealing for various reasons. Sometimes it's how they dress. Other times, it is purely physical or some combination of these factors.

It's not what you have, it's what you do with what you have.
I think it's a combination of both. A man's wardrobe or hairstyle can add or subtract from his overall attractiveness. But physical attributes ( body type, height etc ) also can play in a role in determining how attractve a man is to a woman.

^^ I agree...Dang right it is. I take a great pride in myself and so can others...no excuse. I dont expect him to look like a body builder but at least to take some kind of PRIDE in himself. I dont think its to much to ask from anyone. its a date site....we meet people and first impressions are a deal breaker. maybe they dont have a clue, how to do a make over, there is no excuse as far as I am concerned. I am sure they have female friends or sisters, or moms or someone they can ask for help. greasy hair...wash it and comb it and get a hair cut if needed, brush your teeth, holey shoes throw them out buy new ones, dirty grubby clothes burn them, stinky BO shower and use deordant and over grown eyebrows and nose hairs trim it...and so on...come on seriously, i lost count on how men just dont take any pride in themselves these days.... its all how you present yourself.
|
| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/27/2009 2:15:34 PM | I don't consider myself a bbw any more, but when I was I didn't like myself big and I didn't like morbidly obese guys. I still don't like extremely large guys. Big guys that can carry it, yes, bring it on.
If that makes me a hypocrite...then yeah I am one.
|
| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/27/2009 2:37:35 PM | | Well I am not a BBW either.... and I do like all types of men. I find I am most attracted to confident, smart-assy guys. Doesn't matter what their size is. | |

| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/28/2009 12:06:53 AM | | Me! I'm terrible, I know. But, it's attraction, right... I don't really like guys who are overly heavy. But, I also don't take offense if someone says the same thing to me, they can't help who they are attracted to any more than I can. | |
|
| Any bbw hypocrites? Posted: 3/28/2009 5:04:28 AM | My preference is tall large guys. I dont like short or skinny/med... just not a turn on at all more me.
