Message: The best way to get a youthful look is to smile.

Agreed!!! a lovely smile and a positive outlook is "forever young"...

In the summer I use aloe with E after a good walk on the prairie path where I live, avec with plenty of sweat, and winter I just keep my pants on to hide the dry skin!

And having some what oily skin so it don't hurt as a good moist riser.

I have used beer to rinse my hair. It has been forever since I did that. I may have to steal a beer next time I'm at my bf's.

My mom always swore by vitamin E. I remember her breaking open the pills for the oil before they started adding vitamins in creams and stuff.

I have used vitamin K creme too. I should get more of that, it was good for my transparent skin, you know the blood veins show through. I don't wear purple eyeshadow, but some people swear I do.

I bought some fish oil supplements today. I will find out if it helps my dry skin to get some more oil in it. Lately I feel like a sponge, I suck in all the baby oil or moisturizer I use.

Takes one to know one as they say.. Got a few of those cuties myself..

Hint in winter try some coco butter..Added bonus is that it makes me feel like I am in the tropics in sub zero weather..

Now you got me singing that tune "Forever Young"

Just checked to see if my skin felt any thinner.. I do not feel any difference in the thickness of it yet but imagine that happens to everyone in time..

Either that or I just plain old have thick skin.. Maybe from swimming the St Lawrence in the spring it took my breath away it was so cold..

Using a skin creme on my face isn't to hide anything, especially when there is nothing there to hide - no wrinkles of any kind. Just nice soft skin and I like to keep it that way - makes me feel all pretty.

seein' as how you also asked women:

triluma (prescription), remergent and jan marini. remergent was amazing but got bought by the company who owns clinique. they have promised dermatologists they will be distributing again soon with the same product. i certainly hope so. has dna repair which is a different mechanism than collagen filler or replacement. it does work, i couldn't believe it myself! new scientific findings are that dna is not the only determining factor of your health and aging. the milieus/ matrix surrounding the gene is also essential. this is why such things as fish oil work.

ps i also use 40+ sunscreen and this sunscreen powder that you can dab on with a brush. got it from eye/plastic surgeon after she lazered my discolored spot and scar near my eye (we are still working on that!). we are supposed to put on sunsreen every two or so hours. with makeup, no woman really does and i doubt men have the patience. this is easy and also good for cancer protection. now gotta get my new guy to use it. like artz, he's also a sailor and has had bad sun spots.

I must be allergic to Vitamin E on the skin. One time I poked the vitamin capsules and put it directly around my eyes. They turned very red and wrinkly... definitely not conducive to youthfulness, and I had to do an open house that weekend. Of course nobody cared about it but me... but I'll never do that again.

NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, contributes to look of aging more than smoking. The toxins in cigarette smoke break down the natural collagen in the skin and causes the deep wrinkles you see in long time, chronic smokers. If you want to boost your skin quality, quit smoking!!. Collagen naturally slows in production in our bodies with age....and smoking only compounds the problem and speeds the process exponentially. I have friends who are the same age, but look 10-15 years older, because they smoke.

Vitamin C is very good for your skin. Get some Vitamin C fine powder and sprinkle it into whatever you apply to your face. It is a natural anti oxident and will help stem the tide of the effects of pollution and dirt encountered in daily life.

Drink lots, and lots of water. Natural hydration is important to help skin cells get plumped and last longer.

Get lots of sleep, laugh a lot, eat healthy, exercise, avoid stress...all these things contribute to a natural, healthy look. And use a good moisturizer, exfoliate regularly, and get lots of sex. The release of endorphins are important too. And every once in a while, do something crazy. This is how to maintain youthful exuberance.

Just don't lie about your age. According to the thread "is it ever OK to lie about your age" MOST people said no. It looks like that thread went to POF heaven... or is it he**?

Yes,caddboy,I just read an article that scientists have recommended several cups of green tea daily, they said NO CREAM OR MILK, that just destroys the therapeutic value of it.It's absolutely true!(according to scientific studies)

Yes, green tea and would you believe that mushrooms also, are a excellent source in lessing the percentage in having tumors at any age from a recent study.

Now all I need is a hiking buddy to go foraging for them beautiful little schrooms.

My daughter just put me on to crest whitening strips and darn if they don't make the pearlies bright white. My teeth have always been stained by good ole southern tea.. these whitening strips in a few days made them whiter than I ever saw them, I am happy to smile again...get ya some.

I don't look in the mirror very often. Never did. I once heard that women don't pay much attention to a man's looks. I now realize that they just don't pay much attention, like a lot of men.

LokeyLarry, thanks for reminding me about the Crest Whitestrips, I need to get more. Yes, they do work wonders! Not sure how well compared to the expensive in-office dental whitening but for a fraction of the cost well worth it!

Oily skin was a problem when I was young. Now I think that's what keeps my skin looking good. Women at work always say I have great skin, are surprised that I'm 52. I use nothing on my face. Use the shampoo from my hair in the shower on my face. They laughed about that but then I read you should use a mild soap or shampoo on your face.
Lines don't bother me, the sagging does.
Genetics, skin dryness/oilyness makes a big difference. Sun is the worst of all. Two women at work about 40 look 60 close up because of their year round tanning.
My son's a roofer. I warned him to at least wear sunscreen on his face or he's going to look 40 in a few years. Men I've met that worked outside all their lives look 20 years older than they are.
In the end, we're aging. Can't do a whole lot about that. Our lives show up on our faces.
