Are you kidding me, OP!?!? I would travel to the Congo just to be in the presence of the guy I'm seeing now..just to be near him. I would take malaria pills by the dozen, fight off howler monkies, wrestle crocidiles and try to reason with cannibals that wanted to eat me...just to be near him
...Oh crikey, I gotta meet someone who makes me wanna do that. * sigh*
Fits right in with Michael Buble's new song......."I Just Haven't Met You Yet"

-wonders if giving the cannibals a taste would work-

| How far would you travel for a love affair? Posted: 10/24/2009 9:20:03 AM | Trust me on this guys...when you meet the love of your life and you're stranded on K2 due to a plane crash with no food or help in sight you'll chew off your own arm to give him just so he doesn't starve.
Yeah...he's damn lucky to have me, don'tcha think??
OP, I've never, ever been in love in my life and now I am and have been for awhile..it's exhilirating and uneasy all at the same time...I just can't explain it but I know one thing. I would travel to the ends of the earth for this man and battle every known beast...just to be near him. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would want to face a pride of lions without fear or want to 'duel' with a tribe of aboriginies (sp) just to get to him but I would in a heartbeat.
That's love. Or stupidity.
Mae...he's on his way, hon. Wait and see but it won't be like you imagined in your mind...my guy was a nightmare turned fairy tale and you know that. Regardless, your day is coming honey and he'll be damned lucky that you would chew off a part of your own anatomy in order for him to be fed one day if the situation called for it..lol.
Luiz?? You'll find him honey and when you do, god help ya! You'll find skills within yourself that you never knew you had...like wrestling crocs, fighting off bullsharks underwater to make sure he's safe without question...yes..I've done this just recently...omg. I still can't believe I hit a shark in the snout just to keep him away from sniffing up my guy. *sigh* Hell, I'm all of 5' tall and 90 lbs. soaking wet and resemble that 'troll' from travelocity...anyway, I would go to the ends of the earth for my guy and I'll protect him from anything or anyone that I think may be a threat to him.... hands down.

| How far would you travel for a love affair? Posted: 10/24/2009 9:55:38 AM | ^^^^^Ummmm I am totally in love and plan to marry, but chewing off my arm for him to eat...nahhh not in this lifetime. I might do that for my kids, but he is a full grown man. I would hope he would be finding the food and butchering it (he is a butcher).
Every love I met, it was like the world disappeared when I met them. I don't believe in love at first sight, but lust, oh yeah. With my hun, I really got drawn to him by his emails and had to meet him. I honestly wanted to meet someone in my back yard. I wouldn't date anyone farther than 1/2 hour drive, 20 miles or so. But I really got stuck. One night I just had to call him. We arranged a date in Gettysburg. When I saw him standing in the convenience store parking lot, I thought I should just turn around now, he is just to gorgeous. But he saw me, too late.
He is coming down for his birthday next weekend. Two weeks without seeing him...it has been tough. But we talk on the phone every day and text. About an hour ago I got an "I love you" text. It is the little things like that keep me going. 8 more months...

| How far would you travel for a love affair? Posted: 10/25/2009 6:37:30 PM | | My wife and I live in two different countries. I in Canada and she in England. We met online almost three years ago. She decided to pay me a visit after about three months of writing back and forth. Two years later we married and it is still traveling back and forth for the both of us until I retire next June. Was it worth it, oh my God yes! | |

| How far would you travel for a love affair? Posted: 10/25/2009 6:46:30 PM | | You shoulda added the guy is a scoundrel OP, before concluding your post. Instead of making him sound almost like a character from romantic fiction willing to travel to an exotic locale for a tryst. He got the money, he got the honey. Powertripping fool that he is. Poor wife. Already been said no doubt. Many PoF men are not as well-resourced. Anyway it's an unfortunate example to compare that d1ck with the other men here. | |

| How far would you travel for a love affair? Posted: 10/25/2009 6:57:44 PM | I'd prefer to keep things local (by which I mean I'd drive up to 100 miles) but if I met someone really special who was further away and he was also willing to make the effort, I'd give it a try.
I've done LDRs before but the relationships were already established when we were separated by distance. Since I like having some "space", it wasn't a huge issue, as long as we were both willing to expend the effort to keep in touch and visit each other. With one relationship, we were - with the other, the distance killed it because he wasn't into phone calls nor electronic communications.

I could be wrong, but I thought OP did the question and that was it.
EDIT: Coffee has worn off...thanks for clarifying. I got ya now.

How far would you travel for a love affair? Well, if Cate Blanchett would just return my phone calls, I'd probably buy a ticket to anywhere in the world. But since she's a lot richer than I, I would have to insist that she pay the freight.
