| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 6:37:46 PM | It came as a shock mainly because his music was such a part of my life for so many years. I have most of his music up through Dangerous, also a couple of Jackson 5 albums. He was an incredibly talented musical genius and it's such a shame that he was so psychologically screwed up. Even though he was not convicted, I stopped listening to his music, not only because of the allegations but also of his treatment of his own children. I cannot condone any type of child abuse in any form.
I would bet even money that there are going to be some people talking now that he's gone.

But as I said.....I clicked on this thread to discuss MJ. My perogative to try to keep the thread "on subject".
I'll add .. if the thread goes off-topic it will get deleted. We are trying to prevent that.

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 6:48:33 PM | What a shock. He was so young still. I have great sympathy for the man as he didn't have much of a childhood due to his touring and his abusive father. What he may or may not have done in his personal life as he got older I won't speculate or comment on.
This man changed the shape of music forever. He was a huge influence on all genres today and truly revolutionized the music video with "Thriller". His contribution to the music industry has been incredible and I for one have always and will always be a fan.
It's almost too bad that it happened today as it's totally eclipsed Farrah's death. How sad that we lost 2 pop culture icons on the same day, and one more earlier this week. What a terrible week for the entertainment world. We've truly lost some real talent.

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 6:49:08 PM | I'll be totally honest here and say that my first thought was - "Thank goodness - now he can be at peace with himself".
My favourite all time song ever was "Ben" and that has never changed. I loved his music mostly when he was with The Jackson Five. Thriller is a great dance song - no question. But I was not one of those fans that loved everything he did and unfortunately when you're in the public eye you need to set a good example.
R.I.P. Michael | |

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 6:50:41 PM | Damn, I'm out of a job.
Maybe he'll rise from the grave like in his Thriller video.
I loved his music mostly when he was with The Jackson Five That's when he was normal.

What a warped mind to compare MJ to Hitler. I'm sorry, but that was totally uncalled for and shows great lack of class or intelligence. There was no attempt to compare the two. You made the statement that, when someone dies, they should be remembered for the good they did in life. Now you know it's not always possible, given how you recoiled at the mention of Hitler. I didn't even specify which Hitler - I could have been referring to Elvis Hitler, for all you know.
You can't dictate how people should feel and express themselves about these persons when they are such controversial figures. I don't know if Michael Jackson molested children but I know that the suggestion of such provokes a very strong reaction from people, even those who enjoyed his music and performances. Those feelings are genuine, not some attempt to polish up a person's image in the event of death. You seem to like the People Magazine approach; others don't.
I liked some of Michael Jackson's music and found his dancing pretty riveting. At the same time, his death doesn't shock me in the way the death of other figures has done. I just didn't - couldn't - imagine him gracefully going into old age, being a kind of kooky old man who used to moonwalk and play with chimps. The persona he created was much too fragile, perhaps even too vain, to have that happen. I don't think he was capable of ever returning to a normal life (if he ever had one). When he was placed on trial for child molestation, I thought he would rather die than allow himself to be convicted and sentenced. It would not surprise me if his death - now - was from unnatural circumstances. This was the only way he could go.

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 7:31:42 PM | i didn't love his music. and i can't mourn a pedophile.
however, he could dance. i wouldn't put him in the same category with astaire or baryshnikov, but he did have an impact on contemporary choreography.
i always wanted to see him as puck in a midsummer night's dream.

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 7:31:44 PM | Love him or hate him, -you gotta admit he changed American music. the way we watched it, dressed and danced to it, from pop to rock His style, music and performances are something well greater than the one hit wonder shit we are forced to listen to on todays radio market.
Good bye michael, and wishing you all the best in your new home with all the great preformers who you will be writing, playing and singing with on the other side

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 7:44:03 PM | | ... now the allegations are that those close to him enabled his prescription pill habit worse than Anna Nicole. His doctor visited him last night but did not admit him to the hospital. Although they claim he is high profile and that is the only reason why the homicide detectives are at his mansion it does arouse suspicion. | |

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 7:44:09 PM | | I was sad to hear of Michael Jackson's passing, and somewhat stunned by the news. I grew up with his music, posters on mine and my friends bedroom walls, his pic's in Teen Beat and can remember getting a hold of that first copy of Thriller on VHS and inviting my girlfriends over to watch it for the very first time... I will miss his artistry, his genius and his current projects that we will never see. R.I.P. | |

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 7:51:29 PM | I will start by saying I was not and am not a huge Michael Jackson fan. I will say that he had a few songs I liked and no one can deny the impact he had on popular music, dance and music videos. You don't have to respect the man but, you cannot disrespect his talent.
A lot of people say "bahh... goodbye pedophile" etc...
when was he convicted of being a pedophile?
Seems a lot of people get the news from the national enquirer.
Do I know if he molested children? nope... Do you? nope...
It's been a really crappy time lately. A lot of important people have died.
Farrah, Ed and a very important Canadian most of you would not know.
I just felt I should say that if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing.
To some people Michael Jackson was very important and to myself he was an icon, not an idol but an icon.
I try not to comment on subjects I dislike... I wish others could do the same.

I really loved Jackson's music but hated the dispicable acts he was accused of. . May God forgive you Micheal....Rest in Peace

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 8:13:12 PM | I heard of his death tonight while getting ready to rehearse at the German club I sing at.
I remember when he was little and really enjoyed the songs he did back then with his brothers ... The Jackson Five?
I was disappointed that when Lennon died, he (Jackson) bought all his (Lennon's) songs and took away the one Lennon gave to the Humanists ... "Imagine". I never forgave him for that. Lennon wrote it for the Humanists and Jackson got great pleasure in taking it away from them. That was so wrong.
As for all the other things that he did in his life ... I got rather tired of hearing about it and just basically blocked it out. After hearing what I heard about "Imagine" ... I didn't even pay any further attention to him.
When the songs of the 60's with the Jackson Five are on the radio ... I do have fond memories.
RIP Michael. | |

Not to get off topic, well I guess it is not since we are talking about his life, please explain how he took away the song from the humanists. I googled and found nothing.
Could this be another load of misinformation about the man?

| breaking news!!....michael jackson has died! Posted: 6/25/2009 8:55:06 PM | There's at least one report that mentions him taking Demerol shortly before he stopped breathing. Thus the Sheriff's Department getting involved and flying his body to the coroner themselves.
There's also another (conflicting) report that he was home alone for quite a while before anyone found him. Almost sounds like he was dead long before anyone found him - they just put him on life support and called it a "coma" until it was made official and they turned everything off.
Here's some interesting background from two weeks ago. There were doubts that he would have been able to do the upcoming sold-out 50-show tour...However the partner-promoter made sure he was covered by "very expensive" insurance, because of Jackson's habit of calling in sick part way through tours.

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 8:58:13 PM | I was going to start a post on this myself, but you beat me to the punch! :) Yes, its terribly sad -- I cant believe how many of our top celebrities have passed this week ... and 2 major ones in one day--- Michael Jackson and Farrah Faucett... pretty unbelievable! But also, I think more attention is drawn when any major celebrity dies and its not that uncommon to lose 2 people in one day over-all, celebrity or not -- death picks no favorites after-all. Thanks for sharing--- I will especially miss Michael Jackson ... despite all the controversey in his life, he was INDEED one of our GREATEST artists/musicians and its hard to forget him because so much of his music was a party of my youth /young adult life. Whatever his sins, he still brought alot of talent and joy to the world --- I hope he is forgiven and is now singing in God's Choir of Angels :)

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 9:01:43 PM | | What amazes me is how many people turned all sympathetic towards him right after his death all of a sudden after many of those same people for decades did nothing but degrade him. | |

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 9:08:03 PM | Jackson was an amazing talent and one very messed up individual. I don't know anything about him buying Lennon's music what he did buy was the publishing rights to much of the Beatles catalogue after Paul McCartney advised him to invest in music rights. He paid $47.5 million in 1985 and made millions off the Beatles. McCartney never forgave him for buying his music. | |

| breaking news!!....michael jackson haas died! Posted: 6/25/2009 9:10:31 PM | Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. That's what makes America great. However, just because a person "can" say something, does not mean that person should.
There are people on this thread who have no class. There crass comments doesn't make these people cute. It doesn't make them funny. It makes them seem very tragic and, in some ways, as sick and twisted as they claim Micheal Jackson to have been.
Remember, this is a dating site. People read your comments and react accordingly. The universe has a way of giving you what you give off. There is truth in the idea of like attracting like. Remember that when your next date turns out to be less than ideal.
Think about it people.
