^^^^^^^^^^I'm flipping channels tonight and of course Nancy Grace keeps popping off at the mouth about him being a pedophile.

People always warn children of the ''boogeyman'' the weirdo who lives near by...the guy who looks a bit strange, or off. When most pedophiles are very normal looking...and have normal jobs, and do volunteer work that just happesn to put children in their line of fire. And most often it's a family member or trusted friend of the family.

It will be interesting to see if any other ''allegations'' surface now. The man has had access to thousands of children over the years, only three have made accusations. Let's see what happens now.

This truly is a sad day. It poured rain for the loss.

Michael was one of the GREATEST musicians and no one could make videos like him. Many musicians even mimicked his moves. He brought something different to music.

I even looked into going to his concert when it was announced.

He was different and received controversy for that. But who's to say what is normal. I'm far from that. He had a big heart and a kid at heart. He wasn't afraid of being himself.

You can't help but be saddened for his children & family who will not get to morn in private. His kids will never fully understand what a GREAT man he was.

His music never got old and I still listen to the CD's to this day. My heart truly hearts as I try to hold the tears back.

Another great one gone.

To the man who will always be the King of Pop.....Rest in Peace.

I'm sorry he never lost the fame, maybe he'd be still alive if he were playing Indian casinos and signing autographs at car dealerships, like so many other erstwhile child stars.

But he never lost it, his fame, and everything that bent him in his childhood continued to bend him for the rest of his life, and ultimately ended it. He was almost certainly insane the last twenty years, and certainly alone. And certainly genius.

Sucks.

very sad day...even though I didn't know the man from the beginning of his career like my mother does..she's also 50. I still loved him dearly, copied his dances and sung his songs to the top of my lungs when I felt sad. I'm gonna really miss him...his music was amazing, his words were life changing...I just can't believe it..so suddenly...but now instead of being sad, I'm sure he'll want us to practice moonwalking, and celebrate the amazing artist he always will be.

To me he was a legend, he was the king of pop, the man could dance, He had one of the best voices i have ever heard, he was very talented, he was the best. I whish i could of got the chance to see him concert. I grew up to his music and his music brings back alot of good memories. Thank you Michael for all the good music you left us with, your music will always live on, you will be missed.

How many of you were huge fans of his music when he first started getting really big? He was my first celebrity crush, I was about 7 years old. I loved scary movies even as a very young child so I loved Thriller. Anyone else remember watching the Making Of Thriller on MTV (back when MTV was actually good..)? I used to dance outside on the sidewalk squares pretending I was in the Billie Jean video (so lame lol) and when the red jacket with all the zippers came out, I HAD to have it. I loved that jacket, I couldn't believe my parents bought it for me lol. When I lost that jacket a couple years later, I was devastated. I stayed a fan until New Kids came on the scene and I don't remember looking forward to any MJ stuff after the Black or White video. I remember being so excited for that video, watching the premiere.. but after that, nothing. Then it was teen lust for boy bands and The New Mickey Mouse Club.
Anyway.. anyone else?

Call him insane....but there are perfectly sane people on tv all tonight....smokey robinson, kenny rogers, Ne Yo, J C Chavez, Sheryl Crow and others who actually knew him and worked with him, and saw him for who he was, not what the media invented. And they are singing his praises as being a brilliant talent and beautiful human being.

I remember when my daughter was a baby...less than a year old...sitting on my knee, and just bouncing away to the song ''The way you make me feel''. And later when she was about three dancing and singing to "Smooth Crinimal''.

I still have some original singles from the 1980's. But I never bought the album, "Thriller" because my stepdad was so racist, he would not allow that. I could hide a single. I couldn't go see The Jacksons play at our stadium for three nights in a row. But I drove down there and sat outside in my car and heard him singing ''Human Nature''. The sound was so high quality, the singing so perfect. I'd never heard a live performance since that sounded so amazingly as clear and perfect as the recording.

And the beat goes on... we teach our kids to love good music and not the garbage being thrown around today. My son does love Miley Cyrus but it's mainly because he thinks she's the prettiest girl he's ever seen lol.. other than her, he loves GOOD music (when he was 6 he was walking around singing Message In A Bottle and Carry On My Wayward Son). He likes Michael Jackson because he first heard Beat It and Smooth Criminal on one of those Guitar Hero games and because Back To The Future (his favorite movies) have 2 MJ references. My son watched CNN with me for an hour before he fell asleep, which is cool because most kids wouldn't have a clue what happened, or why it's even so important.

That's when I have my nervous breakdown. I'm a huge fan of his, 20 years of love for his work, namely Johnny Castle. I've got to be the biggest Dirty Dancing fan in the world, no one can possibly love that movie more than I do. I can't think about Patrick's illness, it just breaks my heart.

R.I.P. MJ! I don't care about your infamy! I respect your legacy! When it comes to artist it's about time that society respects an individuals work and creative genius over their personal life! We put talent on such a pedestal only to knock them off and forget what attracted us to them in the first place! MJ, you helped me appreciate pop music! Peace!

Sorry can't feel the pain. This guy bought himself out of being a convicted child molester.
Because he was a pop star makes no diffrence to me. A molester is a molester period.

His attorneys explained why they had him settle that suit, and he was found not guilty in the other one. There is absolutely no proof that he ever molested any child.

So, the children's testimony doesn't count? Sorry to rain on the parade of all you starry-eyed fans, but if it was almost anybody else, he'd be doing time. I'm not saying he shouldn't be admired for his music, he should. It's just a tad hard to hear about what a swell guy he was. It's not surprising how much mental illness is evident in human society. Look at the blaring contradictions we try so hard to rationalize!

However, I believe you shouldn't talk ill of the dead so... ON WITH THE PRAISE! I'll butt out.

I already miss MJ
I am in a bit of denial about it all though, I believe it's a publicity stunt.
He will rise from the dead and do one last tour, "Cause it's a Thriller! Thriller Night!"

I just found a quote that really hit home and it's very true:

"He missed his childhood and now he's gonna miss his old age. How f***ed up is that"

As far as the allegations, what kind of parents put their children to be supervised by ANY eccentric pop star! Why do parents always become the victims in every case and never have to take responsibility for anything? If those parents weren't trying to schmooze and rub elbows with celebrities and trying to taste the good life then there wouldn't be any allegations to be made in the first place! The point may be right that anyone else other than Michael may have been convicted but the other point is that that same amount of fame and money also makes him more of a target to try and hook something on him in order to gain financially!

Anyway, back to the important part! The man was a trailblazer and changed our culture for the better! That's why we held him high and why we should continue to! Peace!

Maybe we value the notion of fame and money more than our own principles.

Very sad :-(
I am a huge MJ fan and have always supported him.
Was listening to my Number Ones album again tonight. "You Are Not Alone" rang a big bell and kind of hit home tonight.

Y'all know he was acquitted right? I always knew he was innocent.

I was almost horrified when I found out. I was at work this afternoon and got a call from one of my friends. I almost didn't believe him. I grew up listening to MJ and now, it's weird to think that he's gone. He was so inspirational to a lot of the musicians I listen to today, and it's easy to see why. He's made amazing music over the course of a few decades. I wonder if they'll release any of the un-released recorded tracks. He'll be making money ten years from now.....just like Tupac.

A truly immense talent.

While I was never a big fan you would simply have to be blind and stupid not to recognize his level of talent.

One only need listen to some old Jackson 5 and hear this kid, a little boy belting out tunes like most people never will in their lives to see it.

Billy Jean at the MTV music awards.......cmon.....earth shattering performance.
