What I ask myself is what the younger person gets out of it. Why would a young women want to date an older guy if not for financial gain and then we have the older women after the young guy, I think in this respect it must be flattery that a young guy would date an older women. It could be simply a preference they have to match their own youthful attitudes, or it could be for an ego boost. Who knows? We all have criteria that we want to find in a partner, either for a night or a lifetime. Age may just be one of them. Like I said, this is not specific to just men, if you looked around, you'd probably find just as many women have that same age requirement in someone they are willing to date.
Personally, I try to stick within 5 years younger or older than myself. That's just MY preference ...  | |

Count me as one of the men grossed out by it. For me, if she is biologically young enough to have been my daughter and I her father, she is to young. I'd never want to be referred to as a dirty old man. I despise those that are.
Besides, I am attracted to women, not little girls. And that is how I view most under age 22 or so. She might look sexy firm and all that. But a female does not become beautiful until she reaches about age 38 or so....to me at least. But even age 38 is to young for me... Damn! I'd getting old! lol  | |

People look at us weird when we are out at a concert but we don't care. Do I think this is long term relationship. No I think after a year or two we may be just good friends. Nothing wrong with that at all. | |

It isn't my cup of tea, but barely legal IS legal..so it's no one else's business....if, how, why, where, when, etc. I'd guess that such young women have not had as much time as their mothers/grandmothers to really start: hating men, being bi***y, being conniving, etc, etc. Also, they have not had as much sex as older women, and so are probably more experimental...more willing to try something which is new to them, in order to please a guy they like. Also, it really puts an ex in her place if-after parting from her-a guy shows up with a much younger, prettier, shapelier, GF...especially if the ex wife is the one who dumpd the guy. Living well is the best revenge. I suppose there may be other reasons...as many reasons as there are guys in this situation. Other than guys who want to do it but can't manage, or the older women being passed over for these younger gals, who really cares? What difference does it make? | |

The Japanese figure that "when you are old enough to bleed, you are old enough to breed", and so are no longer a child...so it is not child molesting. I used to have to treat both the G.I.s, and their young lovers for STDs. I was never into gals that young, but a lot of guys are...even in this country, where they are illegal. A lot of barely legal 18/19 year old women date non-rich 40/50 something guys just out of the forbidden fruit aspect, and because it annoys their parents. If American 18 year olds are as emotionally, or mentally, immature as children that is the fault of idiot American parents trying to keep them children. In Africa, 15 is middle age, so 9 is emotional adulthood...regardless of what the law says. Famine, war, disease epidemics, etc, tend to age one. A hundred years ago, in America, a woman who reached age 20 without being married, and having at least one child, was an old maid. Aside from biology-which says we are adults from our first ejaculation/menstruation-adulthood is a matter of attitude, and law. Attitude wise, it does seem to be mostly older women who complain about men dating younger women. | |

Posted: 11/15/2009 6:01:03 AM | Interesting points of view, but I thought if I told why I, in my early sixties, am looking primarily for younger women maybe it would shed some light on the subject. I realize I am in a different age group from the one being discussed here, never the less in my age group many also prefer younger women.
First and foremost, intelligence, a good sense of fairness, a give and take altitude and with opinions of their own (not just repeat what they heard last nigh on the news) type of person is what is most important to me. That said, I have been very physically active all my life and fortunately in very good health, but most women near my age are very sedentary with very few interests and a great lack of curiosity. Women in their early forties, mid fifties seem to be mature women, having lived the ups and downs of life, and tend to be more realistic about what a happy relationship is all about. I guess a mature but young at heart woman is appealing to many of us, old gizzards (lol). It appears older women (and I mean women near my age), on the other hand, think that visiting this and that, cooking a good meal and spoiling grandchildren is all there is to keep a relationship vibrant.
I am a terrible writer, but I hope you get the idea why at least this one prefers women about fifteen or so years younger.
By the way, it is not sexual: many older women are as sensuous, sexual as younger women and I, once again, am very fortunate to have a strong libido that does not require any chemical assistance. | |

Uh, for the man, the appeal would be:
Visual: She looks good.
Tactile: Her skin and hair are silky-smooth to the touch.
Emotional: She's sweet, vulnerable, impressionable, teachable, an open book (not yet jaded by experience). And sex is a brand-new thing for her...hence the sexual excitement and willingness to experiment with her own body...and his. As long as he's in reasonably good shape so she's not grossed out (ewww), who cares?
Ego: Sure! Even if she's only out for dough, there is a sort of thrill and ego gratification in the elder thinking "I've still got IT".
From her standpoint, he probably treats her nicely than the horn-dogs her age and buys her nice things.
