My body's changed but the weight has not??

I've stopped looking at scales. All I know is I was at a size 22-24 last year, and now down to a size 16-18. I have no idea what I was when started "eating properly" (because diets don't work) but I do know that my measurements were 51" (hips), 44 (waist) and 44" (bust). Now I'm down to 43, 35, 40. And yet according to the scale I've only lost another 15 pds in the last few months.

What I find works is measuring a couple of times a week with the tape measure. Women tend to fluctuate during the month especially around "that time" anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds just in water retention. So that is something to keep in mind when you weigh yourself.

I agree with all who said that you are probably gaining muscle weight and losing fat. Hence -- better body shape and also your are getting leaner.

Also want to add that a good work out program is always progressive -- as you get better at what you are doing, challange yourself to do more. This prevents the "palteaus", and makes you stronger, younger and better looking.

Also want to add: some of us have bodies that are quite resistant to weight loss. our bodies get afraid that we are going to starve them, so they make glycogen stores for energy. This is water retention. I am like that, so my body will retain fluid for a while, with no weight loss on the scales. Then suddenly I will "lose 3-5 lbs in one day". Really due to loss of retained fluids that had been hanging around after fat was gone. Five pounds is not much to a big man, but it is a huge deal to a petite woman.

When I retain water, I prefer NOT to take duiretics (water pills). Just let my body deal with this issue naturally. It will.
