It's not just the length of the hair which attracts the opposite sex. It's also physical appearance, (eyes, smile, weight, height), personality, intelligence, confidence, sensitivity, manners, how a person presents themselves, etc. etc. etc.................

Some guys just think that longer hair makes a woman a woman. I use to think it was having female genitalia that did that, oh well! It is a personal choice. I have had long hair (which is so curl at times it is like being Shirley Temple mixed with Rapunzel), and hair so short to make your head spin. All were fun to do, and I never had any issues about it with any guys. Women questioned me more than men ever did! LOL

Message: It really doesn't matter if a girl has long or short hair. If you've got a pretty face, you're pretty. Rock the bald look if need be.

That pretty much nails it for me. I don't have a preference for hair length, as long as it suits the person.

matter of taste, for me:

The longer the hair, the better!! and if she has them long enough for me to use them as blanket or something: ding ding ding ding!!!!!

As for my personal grooming, even if I wanted long hair for myself (never did), I can't: I got extra fine hair...who also have a mind of their own in the morning: I look like I stuck my finger into the electric socket or something.

I have noticed that for some reason woman with ong beautiful hair seem to be harder to get close to.
Yeah I know what you mean, some of those styles sure do take up more room. Maybe we do it on purpose! lmao~
Woman with short hair will always e-mail me back and initiate e-mail.
Hmmm, I respond to all email so that's not necessarily true.
So my question to woman with long hair is, are you more picky or what?
I'll have to choose the "or what" because I believe that whether it's short or long, we all have our personal picky preferences. Hold the pickle on my double cheeseburger please! : )
Or maybe you have full mailboxes?
Because our hair is long??

Honestly I believe it's all a preference for the woman as to how she keeps her own hair and what makes her feel best, which is important for her self esteem. And, it's also a preference for the opposite sex whether they find long or short hair more attractive on a woman. One would hope that a person's hair wouldn't be the only determining factor in what makes them attractive though. I say this only because putting all our satisfaction on one physical feature that may some day be gone (due to uncontrollable circumstances), would mean we're not looking into that person's heart which IS the most important factor. Beauty truly does lie within but sometimes it takes years to figure that out.

I mean could you imagine our older relatives who are happily together for years and up in their 80's turning around at some point and saying.."I told you I don't like that belly, love handles, or receeding hair line. I'm outta here!" and getting a response like " Oh yeah, well I don't like that gray streak or sagging left boob...I'm outta here too!" lmao Nahhhhhh, I hope that once that deep love is in place, physical changes won't signify a "Start running" flag.

So does the hair make the man or woman? Not for me. I like short hair, spunky hair, no hair and long hair on both men and women and have no personal preference whatsoever with hair. It's more about how they carry/portray themselves, their personality and what's inside their heart, combined with the entire package that matters to me.

Women who are over 40 years old and wear their hair long may not resist growing up. Dimitrius writes, “Sometimes women with this trait are caught in a time warp and still think of themselves as teenagers or college students rather than as grown-ups.
Hmmmm, did you hear that Professor? And shouldn't that be MAY resist? lol C- for that report!!!

I don't think the length of your hair really matters. I know what I want for sure. I also have a full mail box and can't respond to each email.

well, op, it's partly the primal thing, but it's also that long hair tends to drape and frame the face nicely and its length often changes thoe the focus of the face for the better too. works on guys too...think of fabio with his long hair vs short hair. he looks good either way, but he looks a tad better with that flowing mane!

more on topic: sometimes (not always), long-haired gals tend to be a bit more into their looks and bit more vain...coupled with the extra attention many get w/long hair, it kinda goes to their heads (hehe)...as in ego...so they perceive themselves as a little hotter, so they get somewhat pickier. my theory, anyway!

The long haired woman probably will respond if the guy is loaded with money. Some women are just high maintenance.

Now barbee1970, no reason to insult women with long hair. Having long hair just made me a good digger and high maintenance????
Wow, I just had no idea my hair had that much say so on what I am. :rolleyes

Have to agree with paulieg1 on this one.

As for my preference in hair. I like both long and short hair. Both can look very attractive.

I've always liked longer hair on a woman. I really don't like it if a woman's hair is only an inch long or so, but that's just my personal preference. Some women can pull it off, some can't. But I can't say I've noticed a difference between long and short haired women as far as approach-ability. Hmmmm

what are you smoking? you need help...why do you not targer the colour of their hair...next will be their height...you are the only one who knows why they pick you...and it does not help when you do not have a picture..maybe you look to be rough...or too prim and proper...you have not been fair to us...we would help you...it seems you only like women with long hair...i like men who are bald or goatee...but i am not putting statistics...take care.

My hair is long and I like it that way , When it was short I liked it that way too .
It is MY hair MY head and MY choice to have it the way I like it !
I agree most men like long hair and most women like Hair ..In saying all that ,I will not fall in love with your hair I will fall in love with you , long , short or bald ..You are not your hair nor am I ..it is a matter of choice ...

Unbelievable! You honestly think hair length dictates how a woman will respond? I’ve had my hair short (hated it) and very long (makes it look too flat). Now I wear it just past shoulder length. At no time did I change how I react or respond to anyone.

Ah, ha ha. ha ha ha.
Well, since my hair controls most of what I do, it forces me to be picky. It told me not to cut it, ever, unless its a trim- and it makes most of the big decisions around here. I asked it what it thought of your question, but it didnt reply to me, either. So, good luck!

Women are sexy and beautiful regardless of their hair length....every woman is sexy in her own right....!! Men are visual creatures who do appreciate longer hair...it is more appealing and, to most...more "womanly"...

It also helps when they have something to hold on to for..well ya know...lmao!!!

I had hair down to my butt most of my life, but cut it when I got into fire fighting and EMS (so much easier that way). I think why people (not just men here...) are more attracted to long hair is, if it is well maintained, it is beautiful. I could be biased here, and I probably am (my ma still has long hair to this day) but today it is more common for women to have shorter hair. Mine is just at my shoulders now and style-wise it is considered moderately long, I'm still confused by that. But everyone has their own preferences. I personally like my hair long, it can be a pain to take care of and expensive as well, but it's my vanity so I'll do it to feel good about my appearance.

Men like longer hair. Not sure why, but they do. Even though my boyfriend says it's my hair and I can do what I want with regards to cutting it and such, he likes my hair long and asked me not to cut my hair too short. I'm growing it longer for other reasons that he doesn't know.

Ok, I have friends with short haircuts that look adorable. Then I have friends who have adopted that horrible 'Kate' do and look ridiculous. I can't, for the life of me, figure out who would want to look like her.

I had a 'friend' who was a hairdresser. She kept begging me to come in to her salon. Now I have layered bangs and long red hair halfway down my back. I love my hair, take excellent care of it, and am complimented on it quite frequently'. I am in radio, and on remote broadcasts I am referred to as my town's "Favorite Redhead". So my hair is not just about me, it ties into my job as well.

Well, last September, I finally gave in and let my 'friend' trim my bangs. The back of my hair was fine, no split ends or anything, all I needed was a little trim to my bangs. Holy Shit, she cut them so short, I couldn't get the curling iron around them. I was like 'WTF!!!' She then proceeded to tell me that she gave me 'baby bangs' to 'open up my face.' I told her that she was insane, and the other hairdressers all gathered around me with looks of horror on their faces and handfuls of product, trying to make what was left of my bangs look longer.

I didn't need my bangs trimmed for 6 months. By that time, she had apologized so much, and offered me a free color touch up and trim, and she swore to me that she would not get scissor happy, so like a dumb ass, I went back to her salon.

Before I even sat down, I was telling her in no uncertain terms that she was NOT to cut any length off of the back of my hair, all I wanted was about a half of an inch trimmed off to get rid of any split ends. She was to trim my bangs about the same amount. She swore she would do exactly as I asked.

She colored my hair first. That turned out fine...nothing out of the ordinary there. She trimmed my bangs, that was ok too. Then she started on the back. I kept noticing she kept sweeping up my hair as soon as it fell to the floor. About halfway through, I said, hey wait a minute, how much are you taking off? She said 'Oh I'm just adding a few layers'. I said, I didn't ask for layers, I just wanted a trim.

I turned around and looked in the mirror. The half of my hair that she had cut was 4 inches shorter than it was in the beginning. I had no choice but to let her finish the cut, but I was crying and cursing, and she was apologizing and carrying on.
She had been doing my mother's hair and my daughter's hair for months. She lost all three of us as clients on that day.
Her hair is very short, and is not very attractive. To this day, I swear she did that to me out of pure jealousy. She got fired from that salon, perhaps it was from my complaint or from a number of unhappy customers, but I am still angry and haven't had my hair cut since. And I won't until I can find someone that doesn't feel the need to get scissor happy.

Sry Beth...I feel your pain....and you're right, I think there is a bit of jealousy there...or that they can't decipher between a half-inch and three inches....!! I dread when I go in...I have to monitor them constantly...lmao...never allow them to turn you away from the mirror while cutting...lol!!!!

I had the same thing happen to me by a "professional" hairdresser friend. I ended up looking like Moe from the three stooges with some stupid looking flip thingum on the sides and back. She told me after that she knows how I look best.

I had to slick my hair back for almost three months. It was hideous. She does OK with her clients, but always manages to mangle the appearance of her friends. (None of her friends allow her to touch their hair anymore).

You can tell the stylist to dry cut your hair. If they don't know how to dry cut, they need to get back to remedial cutting classes. I also find that men do a more flattering job overall.

Your "friend" deserved to lose her job.

Whether I have long hair or short hair, nobody write to me so I have no message to reply! However, I am loaded with knowledge that always helps me have money myself!

and you're right, I think there is a bit of jealousy there...

Ach, this is BS. If you see a guy in a mullet that you don't appreciate, are you "jealous" of him?

Hairdressers are the "experts" and if you don't take their advice, that's ok. But they are still bound to give it. I know when my hair reacted poorly to a certain dye, it was like a rat's nest on top and the hairdresser recommended I chop it off. I didn't, but I do not pretend to think she was "jealous" of my rat's nest. More likely the hairdresser was telling you that you had split ends up to your roots, and to lop off some of the ugly ends.
