Posted: 7/4/2009 1:12:03 PM | The '80s to me were always like your old high school pictures. You like them because you can look back on them and laugh at how ridiculous they were. You don't really like them because they were good.
To be fair, a solid amount of good stuff did come out of the 80s, but much of it wasn't really the popular stuff. But then again, I guess that's most decades. People remember the '70s as being epic because they look back at all the great classic rock and progressive rock heavyweights and the punk rock legends that came out at the end of the decade. But you have to remember the '70s were also the decade that brought us disco.
The early '90s from about 1990-1994 were the peak of all music in my opinion. Yes, there was a lot of crap that came out during that time as well, but the sheer volume of monumentally great and important albums that came out during that short time span is uncanny.
But I guess we're all biased in favor of the decade we grew up in. I can only imagine that's why people actually buy crap like Nickelback and Seether. | |

But I think that the 60's, 70's and 80's produced the best music ever made. | |
