| VANCOUVER ISLAND JULY 17 -19 CRUISIN', TUBIN' & BEACH CAMPIN' WEEKEND Posted: 7/8/2009 5:39:22 PM | | It's already been said,,,but I'm gonna restate the fact that the Cowichan (any river for that matter) can take as quickly as it can give. Keep the booze outta the picture until you are done your tubing, and watch how much ya indulge the night before. More than one experinced rafter/fisherman can tell ya a couple of stories of near misses. Have fun kidlets,,,but make sure everyone comes home. | |

But im not staying in the water for 3 days as it might be hard to keep my sleeping bag dry..... I never said anything about drinking on the water.

| VANCOUVER ISLAND JULY 17 -19 CRUISIN', TUBIN' & BEACH CAMPIN' WEEKEND Posted: 7/8/2009 7:04:18 PM | Thanks Walt for dropping by to remind us all to be safe!
We cannot condone or encourage drinking whilst boating, tubing etc. - because it is not safe! You could hurt yourself or endanger others who have to try to rescue you!
But of course we are camping and relaxing and chilling and we are all adults and drinking bevvies is perfectly legal and so we beg leave for you to indulge in your indulgences...

Sorry about that flyman. My post wasn't directed at you,,,but more for the members of the group that don't realize how quickly things can turn ugly on the waters. Tight lines.
Thank you Walts & Deb for the gentle reminder... If I may add to that.. I will ask you all please to be responsible... There are still some fishies that I'm sure are not aware that we lost a fishie May Long Weekend Camping...all though it was not a POF event...Anything can happen while we are impared...Keep your eyes out for one another... Make a rule that if you are going somewhere at anytime..be sure to tell someone. We may feel we are familiar with a particular area...or that "it wont happen to us" ... Mother Nature is not a force to be reckoned with...so please all be responsible...have each others back... and of course have fun.

| JULY 18 -19 RIVER TUBING & OVERNIGHT CAMPING LAKE COWICHAN VI Posted: 7/9/2009 12:40:09 PM | Hi Debra I have a question, I have a small chuawawa/pom cross that goes absolutely everywhere with me, I am interested in the camping, but would like to know if the parking is near enough to the campsite that my littlegirl dog can stay in the car?and do we have to go tubing? or can we camp and stay on site? | |

| JULY 18 -19 RIVER TUBING & OVERNIGHT CAMPING LAKE COWICHAN VI Posted: 7/9/2009 2:06:39 PM | Good questions..^^
Equipment - well?? No equipment is provided. You must bring whatever you need for yourself. I am sure there will be enough people with BBQ's, stoves etc. but you will still need everything else unless you arrange to share with someone...
Canines - I will have to confer with my cohost and the property owner. DEFINITELY no yappy barking whining dogs - for their own benefit (so I don't kill them - I did quit smoking recently you know!) I don't know where your car will be parked - it depends on what time you get there and when everyone else has gotten there and how best works to fit everyone in. I don't know...it would be easiest to say no. I'll talk to my buddies and see - but if we say no it is probably cuz of me... I do love dogs though, really. But the place is really beautiful and peaceful and while we will be loud at times there will also be some heavenly serenity there I am certain.
