I'm with naughtical on this one...in this country we are innocent until proven guilty...and for good reason!!!
All those who think he's not guilty tell me that you would have left YOUR kids with him! Let your kids drink his jesus juice and sleep in his bed!

How many people would have done that?

I disagree. May you burn in hell for the peace and happiness you have stolen from God only knows how many youths.

And regardless of how great an entertainer he may or may not have been, his life should not be celebrated as long as there is the suspicion of one molested child.

He did way more good in this world than you have probally done bad, yet everyone must call you Mr. Perfect.

Whoa, take it easy there, Easy.
It was just pointed out that he was never PROVEN guilty. I, for one, did not give my opinion on that and I really don't remember reading that anyone else did, either.
MJ and any children he MIGHT have molested are the only ones who really know...the rest of us just speculate.

How many people would have done that?

Again, we don't know, for a fact, that anyone did that...
However, any parent who would knowingly expose their child to a child molester should be shot.

While channel searching today, it was hard not to see the memorial to Michael Jackson. Nobody denied that he was "strange", not even his family. As Naughtical just pointed out, nobody knows what happened. Not the same as OJ where we all saw and the jury did not see.

What I did see on TV today made me think of good and bad in people. I did not want to watch the memorial. I was turned off the day he died by some idiot in NY saying on CNN that it compared to the death of JFK. What a dumb statement!!! The channels had all reruns and while channel surfing and passing the memorial along the way, I heard a familiar song......."We Are The World" being song by numerous people at the memorial. While looking and listening, I noticed something "good". Black and white holding hands and hugging. The song referred to people of the world. I could not help but listen because of the words of the song.

I also have to admit that I owned the old "album" of Thriller. He was a good entertainer. Nobody can deny that. His personal life was the question. As Naughtical stated, nobody knows for sure and I have to agree that I've found him guilty also without even knowing all the facts. The one fact that stood out was that he did bring both black and white together with his music and in his death. Now, that is a good thing!!!!

Someone said it this great country you are Innocent until proven guilty. Not necessarily so.
You are viewed and treated as guilty as soon as you are arrested. Then you are considered innocent until you have enough money to buy your way out.
OJ Simpson comes to mind.
True, I don't know if he was guilty or not for sure. But there was so much talk about several different things he did that were not what a "normal" man would do. So yes, I have very strong suspicions he was not innocent.
That is one reason I never listened to or watched anything he did with his talent. I will not be a fan or supporter of anyone I think is even "maybe" a criminal.

And child molestation and all pedophiles ,to me should be a capitol offense with only one sentence...death. No life in prison, no treatment. Do away with them. That's how strongly I feel about damaging children emotionally and sexually.
So as rumors have it, maybe his over bearing, money hungry, sicko father is the real villain that ruined a little boy's life and turned him into a a freak. For that, and that alone, I feel sorry for MJ. His life had to be more tragic then his death.

Like most, I feel sorry for his kids. I say "his" kids but he was not the biological father.

I hope they turn out OK after the circus life they have, and surely will have to live.

Like others, the only MJ I liked was the little boy who sang with the Jackson Five.

And to me it is sad that our children idolized the likes of him.

Well said Cajun. I agree with the song and it's meaning. Yes, a good thing. Almost makes me regret my previous post. I admit, I stopped and listened to it too, as I changed channels and it came on (rerun on the news)

Maybe it's true, if you don't have anything good to say about someone...say nothing at all.

Good to hear from you Cajun. Nice picture of you and your son.

I didn’t watch any of the service either. I’ve been busy reading 2 books….weird I know I want to read them both. Anyway that is a great thing. We are the world is a great song.
We Are the World" is a pop song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and performed by nearly 50 musicians in 1985. The song was produced to raise funds to assist in the famine relief in Africa.

How many people would have done that?

I would not leave my children alone with anyone I don’t know.

MJ and any children he MIGHT have molested are the only ones who really know...the rest of us just speculate.

It was never proven in court. Remember the story of “Salem’s Lot”. Many were prosecuted and put to death in very ugly ways without proof. One of the reasons we have a court of law. I don’t know whether he did or didn’t.

That’s why I said I won’t JUDGE him. God also knows what really happened and SHE will be the judge.

(Whats that old saying: Where there's smoke, there's fire!)

2005 indicted on 4 counts of child molestation

1993 accused of abuse by Evan Chandler whose mother said she "did not believe Michael Jackson abused her son." Without her cooperation police did not have enough evidence to indict.

Like rape, child molestation is one of the most underreported crimes: only 1-10% are ever disclosed. -FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin.

And the reason why? No one ever believes the child... they would rather believe the adult (especially the star) than to ever believe the child.

http://www.darkness2light.org/KnowAbout/statistics_2.asp

Ya'll can believe what ever you want... in my mind he's nothing but a worthless child molester who deserves to rot in hell.

I'm sure that you are correct. Of course, you are always correct. No need to correct you either.

Of course, in your case, Jim's statement does not apply.

Pete, I know child molestation happens... so does child abuse... have seen children abused....have done something about it.....more than once....will do it again if need be…In fact my father carried the physical scares of child abuse…and he would help any child in that position. However, I won't judge without the facts. I said nothing about the fact that it doesn't exist....far from it. I don't know anyone or spoken to anyone first hand in the matter with Michael Jackson. Only what the news has reported....and they are not always right. I'm not saying he is innocent, just not proven guilty.

Bottom line.... I don’t Know!!! Therefore I won’t point my finger at him.

Cajun you were talking about when Jim said women were made of perfection...right!!! LOL

For the record:

Indictment is a formal ACCUSATION that a person has committed a criminal offense.

And, that person has the right to face the ones pointing the finger and also has the right to a trial to prove innocence or guilt. Without that trial, a person is presumed innocent. Without all the facts, you cannot prove guilt.

Of course, my opinion (just an opinion) is that "strange" things were going on in that house. Now, how do we define strange? What is "strange"? Think on that.

I would agree with that Cajun!!! In fact a lot of MJ personal life I found to be strange...down right weird at times...but strange and weird are not proof of quilt. As naughtical said without the facts it is all speculation. With MJ dead he can't face his accusers...so the answer will go with him to his grave.

Now Dan that is strange...I agree with Cajun....now you...oh boy!!!

I was told that a 157 count indictment was coming out against him the Monday after he died. A nanny cam had been placed in his residence and there were shenanigans.

Anyway, I don't get the commotion. Who had a more positive influence on young boys? Farrah or Michael?

Hummmm. Good way to spread a rumor. Good way to show how ignorant (look it up in Webster) you are. We can all spread rumors. Nothing about that on any web or tv channel and yet you believe it? Still remember that rumor that Obama would not salute or stand for the U.S. flag and would not put his hand on a Bible and the people swore it was true.

First of all, I am also tired of all the media attention Michael Jackson's death has received. There is so much more to life and what is really going on in this crazy world. I am happy that the celebration of Michael's life service is over and maybe the media will let him rest in peace and quiet.
However he was an incredible talent in music and dance and made a difference in not only the music world but also as a humanitarian. He wrote the song " We are the World " for the famine victims in Africa, welcomed sick and handicapped children to his Neverland Ranch, and helped in other causes. Yes, he was a strange and unusual man. But who here, and actually all people, are not strange and unique in our own way?
Like Nancy, I will not judge him now or ever. I was not there and do not know anyone who was a victim. No, I do not condone child molestation and agree that some crimes deserve the death penaly. But he who casts the first stone......

I have to agree with Phillip (Pete) on this one concerning MJ. Of course it is just my opinion since I was not a juror or the judge. It's funny how if one is rich they are considered excentric but if one is poor we are just crazy.

But the point of this thread is that there are so many very serious things going on in the world that are far more news worthy than an entertainer's death. Even if that entertainer was an ethnic icon, talented or not.

I do take exception to the original post claiming that their was a military coup in the Honduras. A coup is illegal whereas the removal of the President was a legal action ordered by it's parliament. Our own President's comments on that are very revealing. Would he step down if his term was over even if we were in a state of crisis? I know we have an executive order giving a sitting president the power to do so since the late 1930's. It worries me a bit.

This time next week, other than the late night sales of "Complete Songs of MJ, not sold in stores!", no one will bother to remember.

As the OP said..........NEXT!

HECK I remember being in Memphis about an hour after ELVIS died! I heard hysterical crying and moaning and I rushed out of my office convinced that the POPE had been murdered or that a NEW World War had errupted!!! When I was told what actually HAD happened (that Elvis had died) - I was SO 'relieved'!!! HEY - he was a talented guy .......but for Pete's Sakes!!!!

ENOUGH already is ALL that I have to say on THIS topic!!!
