Will say though, it's not the # that counts, it's the quality. I'd rather a nice long satisfying bout of sex w/plenty of positions and orgasms for me that ends in a really great orgasm for him than multiple quick bouts. Posted: 7/13/2009 8:48:32 PM | I just finished reading a book "Sex After 40". It was written by a physician and one of the subject discussed was the issue of ejaculation in males over forty.
It is a normal consequence of aging for it to be more difficult to ejaculate as a man gets older. This is one reason that older men can last longer with intercourse. Some men may have no problem getting an erection, but not be able to ejaculate at all. An older man may only physically need to ejaculate once a week, while a younger man may feel the need to ejaculate multiple times daily.
Part of this decrease in ejaculation has to do with the decreased testosterone levels, and resultant decreased volume of production of various components of semen.
An older gentleman with a difficulty ejaculating, may be experiencing it for physical reasons, not emotional ones that may be blocking ejaculation in a younger man.
Failure to ejaculate at times is considered a normal effect of aging. I spoke to some male friends of mine about this phenomenon after reading this. My friend admitted he had experienced this before. He was drinking with his golf buddies, and at my request posed the question to the other guys, who also admitted to episodes of this.
I think all men and women should be aware of this change so they don't take it so
personally if it happens to them. It should not be a source of embarassment.
While a young man may be proud of an ability to ejaculate multiple times in a night, and older man should feel no shame if an episode of intercouse does not result in ejaculation at all. | |
