| who remembers the 70's? Posted: 7/6/2009 10:58:00 AM | I loved my cream Kharman Ghia baggies and my wooden platform clogs, they didn't make me tall just AS tall as the girls who didn't have them What a disappointment when I took them off and reverted to being vertically challenged, fekk they made my legs look long though
I loved the 70's, well once I'd left school I did and started on my misspent youth (or do I mean life?)

The Silver Jubilee Party (I was 5 but still remember it!)
Water shortages in the really, really hot summer (76?) and walking up to the schoolyard to fill bottles etc from a tanker in the school yard.
My favourite Tshirt... nylon, with Buzby on the front (the little yellow bird from the BT ads).
Watching the snooker on a black and white TV!
The Baycity Rollers!
The Muppets!!!!
The Wombles!!!
The Magic Roundabout!! (still got the LP )
Happy days!
Oh, now this one makes me feel ancient.... I can remember my little brother being born! 1978...

Oxford bags with triple button waist band, stack sole and heel shoes, shirt collars like aircraft wings, long hair with centre parting as opposed to now short hair with a very wide centre parting! The long lane academy for young gentleman and budding phycopaths, inter school fights, the local carnival and the firms float in the parade, being threatened with explusion due to over use of water and flour bombs on the opposition floats, ah happy days. | |

| who remembers the 70's? Posted: 7/7/2009 12:49:25 AM | I remember Tonic suits , Crombies, Ben Sherman shirts, Two tone trousers. Right at the beginning of 70's. Judge Dread, Bay city Rollers when tartan became cool. The Sweet. Has anyone watched the American programme, That 70's show. Does it remind you of yourself. Sitting with your mates in the garage. In my case the shed drinking barley wine and planning your night out at the youth club disco. Sneaking into the pub and drinking vodka and lime. Feather hair cut thinking you looked like Suzi Quatro. Your mother showing your picture to the children. You want to die. They think you look cool and you go up in the street cred. I am going to hunt on here now for a tonic suit. | |
