Not to play devil's advocate and I doubt this is the case, but were there any things that you might've done that might've spooked him to where he would do that?

| Left me sitting at the table, until the waitress said, he left.. Posted: 7/6/2009 9:58:20 AM | I was thinking, maybe he sat there, waiting for her to come out of the bathroom, and figured she had left him there????????????
I was thinking the same thing. If a broad on a first date vanished into the crapper for 20+ minutes, I'd consider splitting too - but not before I paid for the meal.
On the flip side, if I was being a jerk, I'd have split and stiffed her with the bill.
OP, just how long were you in there - long enough to powder your nose, or long enough to squeeze out some Lincoln Logs on top of that?

| Left me sitting at the table, until the waitress said, he left.. Posted: 7/6/2009 10:09:25 AM | ~sigh~ As per usual, we only hear one side of the story and all jump on the "oh poor you" bandwagon immediately.
I'd be interested to hear his side if that were even possible.
If his last date went to "powder her nose" and never came back after so much time had passed...it would make one a little gunshy thinking that the next one (OP) was doing the same thing. Once bitten, twice shy. So how long was the OP in the crapper for? Anyone think of that?
Or perhaps the OP is unbalanced/needy/clingy/etc and he did the smartest thing he could think of, which was just to pay the tab and bail out. Anyone think of that?
Nope.
We hear one side of the story and immediately strike up the "he's worthless" chorus.
Always two sides to every story. Bleeding heart types just need the one to work with. How sad.
No one but the OP knows the whole story...so until we get a chance to hear the whole story including his side (see: never), I'll save my "oh poor you" for someone else.

If they aren't happy with each other, don't have to hang around. And they won't have to slink away. If they do click, then it's time to plan a longer enjoyable time for both.

Atleast he was nice enough to have paid the tab. Give the guy a little credit.
I guess he gets a little credit but to bail without saying anything... *shakes head*
OP be glad that you got the truth of this guy early on and that it didn't cost you anything more than time.
At least you have a good story for next time...

My mother taught me you always take home your date.
It was to your house right?? Giggity Giggity Goo
I cant believe no one said anything yet. I couldn't resist.
Seriously that guy should NEVER of done that to the OP. Even if he thought she left, he could of asked someone to check the restroom & if something actually did come up, he should of left a F~ing explanation.

| Left me sitting at the table, until the waitress said, he left.. Posted: 7/6/2009 11:39:26 PM | uggg this wreaks of self absorbtion why would someone at least take the time to say goodbye although he actually did you a favor. I look at these moments as gifts because if the person was that shallow and pompous he would have made you miserable anyway. I had this happen to me once the guy actually scared the crap out of me and I started sweating. I arrived late which is not my usual but I met him in a town I had never been to and had no idea the amount of traffic there would be. He left me a message on my phone screaming before I got there. I think I was 20 minutes late and I appologized. So I went into the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and I came back and the guy was gone I literally went out knelt on the ground and kissed it I was so relieved I can not put it into words. | |

{{{{{If a broad on a first date vanished into the crapper for 20+ minutes, I'd consider splitting too - but not before I paid for the meal.}}}}}
Maybe I misread something but I didn't see anything about how long the OP was in there for. I think if she told the guy "I'll brb" & she was in there that long, she would have some idea of why the guy left.

If you don't answer my million questions, that is kewl, I really am just wondering how or why that keeps happening.
Here's a clue: People = a$$holes. That's why it keeps happening. A lot of guys today have no testicular fortitude and the same is true for many women (whatever the thing women have that's like testicular fortitude) so some people just can't be nice or do the right thing. Everything is disposable including people. They think this is how life is. The moment it's not going their way, they're up and out. That's why it keeps happening. People are cruel. Even if I didn't like the OP I'd be nice enough to say "Hey, it's not working." or something. No one has to be a butt munch, it's just not cool.

Don't scream. I had a lunch date like that. When I explained that I couldn't fit her needs, she left, didn't say a word, just left..... And I was relieved.
