The talls are much more important in taking marks; and the Saints do have a couple of good crumbling forwards - Milne and SChneider - you guys must stand up and be counted today | |

Posted: 9/26/2009 5:38:30 AM | | I was a bit worried for geelong when i saw mooney line up for goal 50m out on a slight angle thinking he might stuff it up but he kicked it so i thought no maybe they won't shoot themselves in the foot again. They were so accurate today and st kilda was the one that stuffed up especially milne and then schneider in the second which kept geelong in it. Im not a supporter of either club but geelong is a great team and 2 premierships does justice to their recosrd over the last 3 years and deserve to be seen as one of the great teams. | |

Posted: 9/26/2009 8:13:49 AM | Echoes of last year really,Geelong kicked themselves out of the game then and the Saints did the same again today unfortunately.
Terrific game though,tense right until the final siren.
Advantaged neither team,but the umpiring was bloody awful!! I still have no idea why Milburn had a free kick paid against him on half time and the goal umpire not noticing that Hawkins goal actually hit the post????
But well done to the Cats and bad luck to the Saints,it was a great game to watch!
And Pookie!! The TV coverage started at 6am,it was on the radio all day and the game has been all over the news all week! I went to the seafood place in town today to get munchies to eat watching the game and was having a yak to a Saints fan there who was getting food for a Grand Final party at his place. The Grand Final has been everywhere in WA....do you get your footy coverage by smoke signal or something???? lol | |

Posted: 9/26/2009 4:50:28 PM | Twas a bloody good game......(Ok, the result coulda been different).....but I was up and down all day until the last 5 mins.....on the edge of the chair one minute, pacing the floor the next.
No sour grapes, Sainters had their chances.......but any Saints team with Raph Clarke in it?.......I shudder.
Even if the weather conditions were better, both teams would've benefitted.
Unsure whether the Saints can repeat their gr8 season next year.......we might lose a few players........hopefully, we might get another year outta Maxie.....both Clarke's should be traded ......and I hear that Andy Lovett from Essendon is up for grabs??.....I would be very interested 'cos I think we need more pace out of our backline.........( just look at Wojo & Mackie )

Posted: 9/26/2009 8:43:42 PM | It was an awesome game..and St Kilda they did well, real well...no shame at all...the last 5 minutes were the longest in my life !!!...I could barely watch I was beside myself..and I too sunk to my knees when that siren blew, liked I'd played the bloody game and I did..evey time Mooney had the ball in front of goal..I kicked it for him !!! .......and what I wouldn't give to have a nite with Paul Chapman.....oh yeah..........and he well and truly deserved the Norm Smith....
Mikey..trust me no football SOR..so sad...it was lovely getting sms all day long from Melb and Geelong..I was homesick...and talking of sick.................I am not a well gal today....if there was a Cup for a person who drank the most bourbon in celebrating Geelongs win, I would win that cup no holds bar and also be throwing up in it..........
