First match of the Finals series on tonight, very excited even though it will probably be a thrashing of epic proportions (in Adelaides favour). The other three matches should be close, interested to see how the Saints will play on the MCG......they haven't played there much this season. | |

Adelaide looked good last night but they don't have a good record against the top 4 teams - just look at their effort against the Saints after being heavily backed a couple of months ago (and they weren't much better against the Pies recently).
One of those teams will be playing the Crows next week.
Half time at the Footscray Geelong game and the Cats started well but aren’t looking as good at the moment. If only the forwards for the Doggies could convert - you couldn’t see the Saints wasting opportunities like that.
Still strange watching the footy in a hotel room in Bangalore in India but at least I have my laptop and the beer (Kingfisher; not bad at all) | |

i won $5 on the geelong game....but lost a lot more than that tonight on the pokies....should have stayed home and watched the brisbane game....lol

Posted: 9/5/2009 6:55:11 PM | Still a bit stunned by the 4th quarter fadeout by the Blues last night, they had the game in the bag then became lazy and defensive and pretty much handed the game over to Brisbane.
Only good thing about it is that the Bulldogs have an easy match next week and will end up playing in the Prelim......I think Akker played well, he should definetely play on next season. If the Saints lose today it puts an end to the Geelong vs St Kilda GF predictions, feel sorry for the team that has to play Adelaide next week.....they were by far the most dangerous and impressive in the first round of Finals. | |

Posted: 9/6/2009 12:35:01 AM | Well done Sainters - good to see that the intensity is back. In two weeks time, we will have either the Bulldogs or the Lions. Very confident I am at see the Sainters in the grand final.
Just wish I was at the MCG watching the game with my friend instead of stuck in a hotel room in India - but will be back to go to the MCG for the preliminary game.
Next week - Bulldogs vs. Lions - you would think the Doggies will start favourites for that.
Pies vs. Crows - history have shown that the top 4 teams rebound after a loss and I would expect the Pies to do the same. | |

Pity that Knights went down late in the 1st, at that stage I didn't see how the Pies would get back into the game but the injury deflated the Crows....great comeback nevertheless. I was hoping Anthony would miss just to see the game go into overtime, oh well still a good win. Lets hope the prelims are as intense and exciting as tonights game. | |

God damn that game pissed me off. Yes i am a crows fan and the kick Tippet did should of really finished that game off for sure
Yeah I would have been gutted if something like that happened to my team, the 1 point losses to Sydney were hard to swallow (eagles fan). One thing I didn't understand about last nights game, Knights went down and that ruined the Crows structure but why did the coach decide to play defensive in the 2nd and 3rd quarters when his side where thrashing the Pies playing attacking footy in the 1st?? Still the best game of this seasons finals, I doubt the remaining games will be as good but theres hope. | |

St Kilda vs. Bulldogs - can the Doggies beat the Saints? Hard to see that happening unless Saints choke. Hoping to get tickets for that game - should be an awesome atmosphere as it means a battling team will be in the grand final
Cats vs. Pies - the game last night surely would have taken a lot out of the Pies emotionally and physically. Will they have anything left in the tank for the Cats? They have played well against Geelong - look at the preliminary final two years ago, and who can forget last year's thrashing | |

what a game, I thought they gave it all up at the end. Dale Thomas ran his heart out all night and didn't even get a mention afterwards!
At least they stood up compared to the last two weeks, now I hope they can bring that form to the Cats! Hopefully they won't give them that big of a lead to start with though. | |
