Posted: 9/12/2009 11:29:16 PM | WTF happened last nite ??...I live in Perth..televised games that do not have the Tosser Shocker Dockers or the Weagles playing in them..are rarely televised..god we were lucky to get last years Grand Final on screen here !!!
So I settled down to watch the game...saw the Crows all over the Pies in the first half....then some inconsiderate Tosser Shocker Docker fan came a visiting ..and being polite I turned the commentary down and focussed on my visitor ..only to look up and see that the Crows lost their 40 odd point lead.....and if I was a Crows fan this morning I would be wild as !!!....I need you guys to tell me what happened .....cause god knows it wont be reported over here in the paper or on the news.....unless Ben Cousins somehow snuck in and took a mark... unbias media coverage of AFL in WA....yeah Id like to see that
But anyway....the top 4...all Vic teams...and this is a good thing.....our game and back to where we want it.......both games next week should be awesome...god Id sell my soul to be there...!!! and even though a die hard **** supporter..would love to see the Doggies get up ..being a expat from Yarraville and living across from the EJ Whitten for years....they can be awesome the Doggies when fired and I hope they give those**** St Kilda boys something to think about...
As for the Pies...sure bring it on !!! ...we are rested and ready..........

Its a shame that arrogance has got into Geelong the way it has,I was really thrilled when they won in 2007 and broke the long drought. Then Mark Thompson starts casually eating burgers while his team is thrashing West Coast last year and this year casually says how the Cats are going to come over and "Smash Freo".
So its the Bulldogs or the Saints for me,regardless of whether theyre playing the Cats or the Maggies. | |

Posted: 9/13/2009 3:35:28 PM | Actually Mikey...I do love the place - especially the beaches, the people are great but I have no choice but to be here for personal reasons....however lets face it..for the last 3 months the weather has been crap and you know the media coverage of footy in this state is beyond bias and very frustrating particularly if you follow a team thats not in Vic like Adelaide, Brizzie or Sydney......over in WA those teams dont even exist (and they havent got over the fact that Benny no longer plays fo the Eagles!!) ...every focus is on their two teams who both have performed poorly this year and both their coaches have a lot to answer for !!!
Arrogance cause Bomber eats a hamburger while his team is playing (could he had been hungry ?) .....mmm to me that shows a laid back approach or the fact that mm..he could have been hungry !!! as opposed to screaming down the phone using the F word ala Eade/Malthouse every 2 seconds....and "Smash" Freo ..what else do you want to say as a Coach...yeah we are coming over to play Freo or other team but hell...lets just play and let them win !!!
You consider that arrogance...mm I guess we both have a different perspective and look at its meaning differently...!!!
Whether anyone likes it or not..now under the rules of the game the best 4 teams are left, based on performance and merit..........when the comp started, everyone had a chance ...funny that.....as stated previously, I would like to see the Dogs get up......they have done beautifully this year and I reckon thats gonna be a top match again St Kilda...but having said that you cant take anything away from St Kilda either...they too have lifted and answered to all their critics of the past.
And as for the Catters, yeah I hope they "Smash" the Pies................does that wish make me arrogant ???cause if thats the case..then every supporter of any team is full of it...funny how we want our team to win each week....and then ultimately the Flag...I thought that was the point of being a Supporter !!! | |

Its been quite a few years since the competition went national and usually its good to see that the interstate teams are well represented in September. Now that we've lost Adelaide I really dont mind who wins.
Talking about bias, Robert Walls is shocking. Absolutely blatant in his support for the Pies the other day while commentating, picking out things to congratulate them on and ignoring the Crows. Given that it was at a point midway through the last quarter when it could have been anyone's game it was hardly a reasonable summation of the state of play, which is what the commentators are expected to deliver. | |

Have to disagree with you Pookie! The Eagles are in a rebuilding phase and came on a lot stronger than some people were expecting this season. They were competitive in most matches and right up there on statistics and wins in the last 5 rounds of the season (including 2 victories over the bulldogs). Worsfold has nothing to answer for, the team was bound to struggle after losing Judd and Cousins, then injuries to Cox and Kerr.....lets take Ablett and Bartel out of Geelong, or Riewoldt and Kozzi out of St.Kilda and lets see where they end up....i'm thinking bottom half of the ladder. You make one good point though that I have to agree with...Fremantle DO suck!

The reason we didnt make the finals wasnt because of injuries or retirements or bad umpiring,it was because were not good enough yet. That elusive first flag is a while away I reckon,but hey,theyre my team.
Im not sure what the problem is with having 4 Victorian teams left,theyve been the best 4 teams all year so it should make for 2 great prelim finals and a ripper Grand Final!
And Pookie,theres lots of arrogant supporters out there,but coaches in particular are usually loathe to be perceived as arrogant and give ammo to other teams.
And Im glad to hear ya dont actually find the place too repulsive! lol | |

Posted: 9/14/2009 11:06:15 PM | Its called charity Mikey, we felt sorry for you and thought we might give you some charity points considering the season was over for us.....if only we knew that we would finish a game and a half out of the 8, the 2 games we let slide against freo would have come in handy! lol. Nah, just bad goalkicking kept Freo in the games....I think there was about 17 behinds in the first match, and 19 in the second....disgraceful!
I agree with dimeadozens opinion of Robert Walls, his opinions and commentary is VERY biased. A few years ago in the 2 classic Swans vs Eagles GF's every comment about Sydney was positive, while nothing but negativity was thrown at the Eagles. He seemed pissed off when Sydney lost and instead of giving the winners praise he kept going on and on and on about how well the losers played. Other commentators are also doing it...Tony Shaw with Collingwood, and Gerard Healy with Geelong. When Geelong loses Healy blames it on bad play rather than praising the other team for beating the cats......its very annoying.
Hoping for a Bulldogs vs Collingwood GF but i'm thinking it will be Geelong vs Bulldogs. Either way i'm just hoping for some good games without the boring flood tactics. | |

Well done to the Saints and the Bulldogs too,and well done to Rodney Eade for facing the TV cameras after such a close loss.
Well done to the umpires too! For once they werent trigger/whistle happy and just let the players play,none of the crap holding the ball and hands in the back free kicks....well,not too many anyway.
Lets hope Saturday nights game is umpired the same way.
Consider this Docker well and truly on the Saints bandwagon for the next week!! | |

That was sad Doggies being sentimental favoruites but it was a great game...and both teams did played brilliantly ...sadly only one can win....and you cant take anything away from St Kilda either..played well all year and now reaping the rewards.
Ok...be fair to say Im more nervous than Ablett is about tonite.....and feel for us people over in the West cause we are on delayed broadcast...sorry Mikey but that does suck...so now I have to grovel to all my Foxtel friends to get a invite..and grovel I will..I do anything for the boys !!!
But lets just hope for a great contest, with good umpiring .and the best team win !!

Went to teh game last night - an awesome game to be at although not good for the nerves. St Kilda were kept in the game by their awesome defence and Bulldog's inability to hit targets inside the 50. Also at no stage did the Saints allow the Bulldogs to run through the middle at ease.
And what can I say about Nicky - you are a god! | |

Im not sure what happened in Perth,Pookie,but the game was live in country WA??
A few very dodgy umpiring decisions tonight,but nothing that made any difference to the result. Lets just hope that the umpires let the players play next Saturday too and it should be an absolute ripper!!

Awesome...we were awesome. - yeah we were !!!!..Im sorry but that was a pretty bad effort by the Pies too...hard to believe they had been so challenging last week !!! - I must admit the first 10 minutes I was concerned but then the bottom line was that the Pies didnt fire and we were everywhere !!!....how good is that Ablett bloke ???!!! - and yep if theres any justice the Brownlow is his...Judd although a great player...bad sportmanship in the finals...- and even though his still eligible still not sportsmanlike
So bottomline..the best two teams are in - despite all the talk and challenges thru out the year...and I just hope its a fantastic game...for all concerned....because that way its good for our code
St Kilda - yeah youve been great all year and you deserve your berth...
..but dont under estimate us either.....we are coming for you !!!
Roll on next Saturday and I never thought Id say this..but I wish I was back in Geelong this week !!!!! (did I mean that ??? yeah yeah I did !!) WOO HOOO !!! | |

Posted: 9/22/2009 3:37:24 PM | After several long lonesome years in Geelong ..trust me I have no fond memories of the place...bloody cold, no work and endless hours of commuting from East Geelong railway station but I do miss my mighty Catters and I wouldnt mind being at the Town Hall this Saturday nite....and try being a interstate supporter 4000kms with little media coverage..we are damn lucky to getting the GF televised !!! although was stunned to see Ablett on the front page of the West Aust yesterday...what ? couldnt they find a pic of Sandilands ???
Anyway Ablett..a deserved win, a talented player who is also gracious...and I bet Snr is mighty proud...but as I heard Ablett say yesterday..he happily hand it back in exchange for the Flag this week..dont you worry about that Gazza..you wont have to son.....its ours for the taking....!!!
