Expletives can be funny :P

I think swearing can be a very effective way in which to express yourself. It certainly carries more weight if used sparingly under the right circumstances. We have a great language with all kinds of weird and wonderful vocabulary from which to choose. It seems a shame to limit yourself to three or four expletives.

I swear myself , but I'm aware what I'm saying and the type of environment I'm in. A girl I used to date a good while ago, had a quirky turn of phrase. It seems I've subconsciously picked up a few of her quirks. EG: Where I would have previously said " Feck me ! " in surprise . I might now use one of the following instead , " Good God / Good Grief / Goodness me ! " I get some right funny looks off my mates sometimes.

Certain words amuse me though and I'm not sure why. Eg: Ars*hole , Bollox . The funniest thing I've seen or heard in a long time happened a few ago in town at a bus stop. This little old lady stuck her hand out to flag the bus and it just drove straight past without stopping. Totally out of the blue , she give him a one finger gesture and shouted " You fuc*ing Ballbag " Well I couldn't contain myself and burst out laughing and could not stop . She was glaring at me . It was priceless .
Ballbag....LMFAO....

Many moons ago someone I bumped into on t'internet had a habit of calling me a twatend. I've no idea what it meant. But, the fact she was Welsh probably explains it somehow.

It's just one of those words that for an unknown reason makes me smile. Obviously I've wheeled it out myself since in polite conversation as well only to find that others are equally as amused by this strange word.
