And if they are waiting for a man to give them everything cause they don't have a pot to pee in, don't expect me to be charitable.

| Women's Favorite/Least Favorite Conversation Topics Posted: 8/19/2009 7:24:51 AM | Well, this is a "Loaded" Forum Thread no doubt and I don't have much to contribute except that I am actually out of the norm, because I find those topics "boring" to be honest...Believe it or not I'd be more prone to discuss Religion or Politics than to discuss Hopes and Aspirations when I first meet someone...that's too mushy for me until I know someone really well...I'm sure you guys that have all the ladies "Generalized" won't believe that, but I don't really care because my actions speak louder than my words and I don't gotta prove myself to anyone... I've read the posts by men here that "Generalize" women to all be the same...I have a high or at least above average IQ that allows me to be able to identify a persons unique characteristics, but unfortunately alot of people don't and are not able to do that therefore they Generalize alot...and that is okay...
And by the way Hopes and Aspirations is secret code for finding out if your looking for relationship or not for some ladies not just for finding out your career ambitions...

If you're gonna generalize, it usually helps that the generalizations are widely accepted. (ex. women not liking antiques? hell i've found the opposite.)

Who else finds these just a little bit depressing? I do. I think it is sad (and maybe hypocritical) that women don't seem to have any real intellectual interests. I don't expect politics to be high on the list, but absolute least favorite? Jeez. And I think we all know that "hopes and aspirations" is code for the man's income.
I find it depressing and ignorant to go by these lists. They're about as useful as watching Oprah, or reading The Secret.
BTW, I have found the majority of men I have been meeting lately want to talk mainly about the Miami dolphins, the UM hurricanes, or golf. How scintillating is that?

| Women's Favorite/Least Favorite Conversation Topics Posted: 8/25/2009 8:02:51 PM | | Seriously, it's a lot easier for a Women to initiate and start a conversation with a Man than it is for a Man to initiate and start a conversation with a Woman. All a Woman has to do is say "Hi", a Man has to come up with something creative, he say to come up with good sentences, questions, stories, etc. | |

OP are you kidding me??? hopes and aspirations are for the man's income? what century are you living in?? My hopes and inspirations are mine and mine alone has nothing at all to do what a man makes ....that's so insulting that I don't even want to elaborate further....enough said on that one.
As far as topics of conversation...why do you assume there are only certain topics women talk about? When you're on a date with someone, the conversation topics go with the flow and there are no specific ones. I've discussed everything from Children, to science and philosophy , politics and religion to sex....I don't know what type of women you've been dating, but you certainly don't give us enough credit and you do come across as sexist and arrogant.

There are threads about that very topic and question. The topic here is converstion topics, not who initiates the topic. The following asks if men like women to initiate: http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts12941679.aspx Other titles are: Rejection, men have been dealing with this a long time. Decoding Women's Language You posted three times on the question, go check the other threads. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Topic: On my email opening page: Word of the Day, Lead Photo, BBC News: Science and Environment, Science News from AFP, National Institute of Health News Releases, Science News from Space, Joy's Healty Bite, Top Stories from AP, Astros Schedule, Weather, maps, Movie showtimes.
Yes women do talk about science. Biology is one of the sciences.
Generalizations just are silly, as my daughter would say. )You want some in the trences battle of the sexes go visit the decoding womens language thread.) Men and women have all different favorite and least favorite topics. Maybe that would be a good opening line in, say, a second email. "What are some of your favorite topics of conversation?"

Men’s Top Ten Favorite Conversation Topics
Sports Who sucks at our favorite sport Who is good in our favorite sport What are the odds on our favorite team to win, lose Can I bet on it?
not just men on the above; have six different bets out right now so far, and football season hasn't even started yet lol.
OP,
um, part of the problem might be that your #2 (hobbies and interests in general) for me, at least, include a ton of the below list plus sports... (celebrities go with movies, sci fi goes with reading/movies, history /science/religion goes with reading; as well as nature/camping/hiking/swimming/boating/stormwatching, so what looks like what you'd assume is a stereotypical "shopping and soap operas" interests based on gender stereotypes, will be wildly different for each woman, and will likely have a ton of stuff you call "intellectual" interests, as well as activity and nature interests. So what you are doing is superimposing your prejudice on a woman's list and assuming she is shallow and flighty because it does not specify what those interests ARE. Just because it says interests does not negate any of the below ones BEING on it... any more than your assumption hopes/aspirations equates automatically to her being curious about your income. It would never in a million years have dawned on me that you'd ever believe any of us meant that (though I'm sure there are probably a few it does; I can't believe it is the majority).
The assumptions in this case are wildly skewing what those interests mean...
So you can use it as a broad roadmap; but don't assume you can flesh out the particulars; since every single woman will be different in what each one of those means; just as every man would be as well.

| Women's Favorite/Least Favorite Conversation Topics Posted: 8/26/2009 8:31:18 PM | I had to view your profile to find out if you were male or female, ends up you're a boy, silly boy, this statement,"women don't seem to have any real intellectual interests. " proves it. First: women and men are different. Learn it now
Second: women and girls are different, women with intellectual interest are not interested in boys...but girls are.
Finally, men and boys are different; someday perhaps you will experience both!
