I've driven (not owned) a couple of Ferraris, one 'roller' and an Aston DB9. I honestly prefered the BMW
You have GOT to be shitting me? i had a DB9 for a week...i had to leave the windscreen wipers on just to clear the hoards of moist women who were trying to get to me (ok it was the car not me) and when i gave it the berries...oh that noise! unfortunately i had to give it back and climb into my beemer...which was like giving up linda evangelista for fat heather out of eastenders.

I agree!!!! EXCEPT for the fact that it lacks certain things the beemer has. The practicality. The toys are better, it's better laid out, it's half the price new. As an all rounder the BMW cannot be beaten in my opinion!!!!

Who won? | |

| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 12:28:47 PM | It's the mix of well thought out toys, excellent handling, positive feedback, low noise, comfort, durability and design that in my opinion has yet to be bettered.
If only they made men like that!!!
A beemer is like a posh handbag with lots of accesories IMO. Nice, but lacks character.
Ferraris are longed for by 12 yr old boys and owned by middle aged men. Unless its a classic, they look dated IMO.
Astons, well you can't deny they are stunning cars, the Vanquish is my personal ultimate Aston, followed closely by the DB9. However they do lack the comforts of the 'posh handbag' but then they are not generall viewed as an 'everyday' car like the beemer.
For me, sex on wheels is the current Morgan Aero 8, it makes me dribble from more than one orifice when I see it.
Pity I'm stuck with a rattly Escort!!
( wonders how many people she will offend with that post!}
VVVVV I hope your willie falls off Shabba!! :P

Good luck with the MOT v!

| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 12:39:07 PM | Not me, A Morgan is my ultimate car. Not the Aero 8 though, don't like the front end, much prefer the +8 or earlier cars that have the googly headlights (perhaps not the best way to choose a car) and the classic body styling.
I'd have a Bentley for when it was raining.
What's that joke about women and BMWs, something to do with women having the c*nt on the outside...? Can't remember, crap at jokes.

ohhhhh Hula you are a star!!!
Yes the earlie Morgans are very lovely cars. Bizarrely I am sat in a room now which is full of pictures and models of them.. ( no prizes for guessing my son's name)!!
I think googly lights preference is by far the 'superior' way of chosing a car!!

Therefore the hypothetical answer to the question would hypothetically explain…hence you contradicted yourself as usual.
I think I'll wait for the English version of this post before replying, as I think the word 'explain' might have words after it that you forgot to write....

Now come on everyone, be fair. The thread is entitled 'Superiority' and we have two guys desperately trying to prove that each is superor to the other. It may childish, but at least they're sticking to the topic.
Is anyone going to admit defeat any time soon? It would drive you to drink.

| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 1:42:29 PM | Someone mentioned cars...My auld man was a dealer in them from a rolls to a banger, scrapped a '57 Chevy, and owned that yellow Mustang that Bay City Roller crashed into an old lady...I've sat in them all, drove some...
Guess wot, one of my uncles was on the U.S ambassadors staff in Iran when the Shah was deposed, they, my auntie and my cousins got out with the skin of their teeth...He was on high level security job (and I don't mean on the gate) in Harrogate, we still don't know his job there...
Sat in Canadian Embassy for a formal dinner, a private meeting with the President of Italy, surrounded by digniataries in Rome, 2004 for the 60th anniversary of the liberation of that city, and guess wot, a private audience with the President of the U.S.A...With SERIOUS people...
Sat on a rock where the two oceans of the Atlantic and the Indian meet...
Climbed Montreals pimple in a snow storm...
Been on the dole in a new town in Scotland, surrounded by junkies...
Took on a bar full of hostiles in Finland...
Fought for my life, wife, and unborn child in Africa...
What does that make me?
Nothing special really...But I've been about, even some who have money and aspire to go to places I have been ain't been...they been too busy getting there...Accummilating paper gold...
And before my end comes, I have many more adventures to go through...And I can show my child them all...
At the threat of sounding like an inverted snob, I am better than you....

| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 1:55:56 PM | Yup, that is one of the most sensible posts on this thread. It isnt about what you have/own etc, it's all about life experiences that make you the person you are...........I don't have a lot but I make sure that my children know everyday how much they are loved and how, as long as they try their hardest at everything, they will always be the best in my eyes. And their mum? Well, I've driven more cars than probably most of you - having been one of the top percent of police drivers in the UK. I've been shot at, I've had various bones in my body broken, I've brought 2 people back to life - one of whom then punched me in the face!! I've stared hatred in the face during the Polltax riots. I could probably disarm most of you on here despite you being taller/stronger etc than me. Does that make me better than any of you? Nope, but it certainly doesn't make me any the less of a force to be reckoned with. Never assume that anyone is anything less than your equal, you may be surprised...... | |

Interesting though your life experience is (who could doubt it?), I don't think you needed a paragraph of self-justification to make your point.

I will point out that I am not religious-but this poem is good.
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway.

She was just about the most immoral person I can think of. Refusing sick children hospital treatment (a child with a kidney complaint died on the floor of her hospital, when he could easily have been treated in one of India's proper medical institutions, for example)...

| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 4:12:11 PM | Erm a poem doesn't have to rhyme.... Not in the slightest. There are many different types of poetry and there is no rule saying it has to rhyme.
That so called poem of yours there was incredibly insulting and against the rules you know.
To be honest there is no one superior on this thread, there are far too many who think they are and its getting really boring for other people.
|
| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 5:00:22 PM | We are all victims of our own success.
It takes a very long time to learn the meaning of life. At the end of the day if you are someone who cannot face facts and pretends to be something you're not to avoid those facts you are the only person you are fooling.
Rudyard Kipling said it best when he was inspired to write that poem to his son.
|
| Superiority. Posted: 7/10/2009 10:12:33 PM | foxymoron...Your absolutely correct, poetry doesn't have to rhyme, my own preference for though, is poetry that flows... She led me up the garden path it was her pretty little flowers how could I resist? but little did she know I trampled all over them
One thing about this thread, and others, as well as boring newspapers or books...you don't have to read them...
btw...i am superior, I should be Emperor of the world and you lot will be made to wear jaggy jumpers and have yer eyes injected with baked beans if you disagree....

I am not quoting Mother Teresa as a person, I am quoting a poem she wrote. It would not have mattered if it had been Attila the Hun who wrote it, it was a poem that was pertinent to what we were discussing at the time. The point of it was (if you haven't grasped it) that no matter what you do in life, you will always face conflict from others, there will always be someone trying to pull you down, but that shouldnt be a reason for not doing them. It's making the best of the life you have been given, that is all anyone can do and it is completely disassociated from wealth, social status and class.
