OP, you live in California. Granted I don't know much about specific areas, but I would think that there would be a lot of women looking for sugar daddies out your way-if not only for the fact that population is high. You need to move to the New England! Most of us are as real as it gets and let's not forget, Laconia is only 40 mins from here!

I think if I was a man, and read what he read - frequently - I might also wonder about motives - especially living in Ca. But hey, its a different lifestyle where I am.

California is one of the biggest states in the US of A. How is it we Californians are knocked down by a few socialite b----es from the desert flower LA and Hollywood? There are so many good natured and loving Californians, and I get sick of the bumrap we get. Sure, there are a few gold digging hos here, but not as many as one would like to believe. Get this though, most of the gold diggers come out to California looking for Sugar Daddies from other states and countries.

So why do you have ART, TRAVEL, MOTORCYCLES, ANTIQUES on your profile? Don't you expect to find someone who would share your interests?
And fine dining doesn't have to be always expensive. In my vocabulary, fine dining can be a little Thai place with a total of 5 tables but authentic cuisine and the average meal is maximum $15. It's about the quality, not about the price tag.

@OP

It's called sugardaddy dot com but they would have to compete with the young hardbodied gold diggers there!

^^^^^^^^^^^^
And you know this because they rejected you there also?

I can only imagine that this is the reason why OP is 'laughing' because "the halfway decent womans profile" were the ones that he messaged and got no response.

Oh my god! Have you people no lives? I post an observation I've made in my area. An area that none of you posters are familar with. Nor have you observed these women in person as I have. Watched them make the finger gag sign when asked about art, opera and tennis. Yet I see these listed as interests in some of their profiles. There are a few women that truly like all they list. A few! Yet your all experts on my post. I found it humorous and decided to make my first post. Now Im bitter, stupid, scorned ,trying to look smart etc... One of you had no comment so you had to correct my grammer? Somebodys got way too much time on their hands! To address just a few,the things I listed as their interests seperated aren't expensive. But are all rich mans hobbies. Excuse me if I mispelled or puncuated wrong. Guess that never happens on POF. No I haven't been turned down by this type of woman. I wouldn't even message one! I think the bitter, scorned ones are the people that feel the need to post replys on subject that have nothing to do with them. It sickens me that I even came in contact with the sad likes of you! I will never post here again. I suggest you go check your mailboxes and see if you can get a date! That's what the sites really for! Rants and raves are on craigslist which Im sure your all very familar with!To the very, very few that got my post I thank you. To the rest of you ,GET A LIFE!

I have to laugh everytime I read a half way decent womans profile and their likes almost always say a few of these TRAVEL, THEATER, TENNIS, SAILING, FINE WINE, FINE DINING, ART Why dont they just write MONEY?

Said the man with the following interests listed in his profile:
Dogs Antiques Travel
Motorcycles art growing things
restoring things

Is ART more expensive than art because it's in all caps? When did dogs, antiques, travel & motorcycles become inexpensive? Have you taken the time to consider women have their own money to spend on the things they like?

liar liar pants on fire.

Im so sorry!

Apology accepted.

Whether you have any knowledge on the subject or not!

And, this is different from RL how? I submit these lines from the move "Fight Club":
Marla: Why do you do it?
Jack: I don’t know. I guess when people think you’re dying, they really listen, instead…
Marla: Instead of just waiting for their turn to speak.

Thats your lives!

Said the man who researched our posting histories.

Why dont you all try the other part of this site called dating? Novel idea huh?

How are you spending your Friday night? Oh - that's right - posting on POF. Welcome to the site

Get some lives!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to have fun with the last couple of rants, but you know what, it's just too easy. Besides I can use this time to get a life. Maybe use the other part of this site, the over analysing women that would never date me post a rant about it part.

Some of the things I've read :

1)" I want a man who's very attractive but doesn't know it" - who's very attractive and doesn't know it?
2) "I'm pretty vain (not in a bad way) and work out to look my best" - and I guess at least honest
3) "You must be at least 6'3" .. from someone who is 5'4"....ok, 6'2" isn't enough? do you want to be staring in his belly button all night?
4) "I want a man who is fit and can prove it with his pictures" - how do you know they are even his pics?
5) People who mention you must be attractive several times in their profiles - do you have to even mention this at all, I mean isn't it a given we all want someone attractive to us?
6) "Since you guys are all so visual, I am 5'4" and weigh 119 lbs" - obviously hasn't read the above profiles

It sounds like you think she "would like to do" these things, and that she needs you to pay for them. As opposed to that's what she does anyway and is telling you.

If this woman is wealthy and enjoys the finer things in life i expect she'll attract men of a similar ilk. If that's not you...then find someone who likes to do the things you like to do within your affordiblity bracket.

OP - you struck a nerve with me regarding SAILING. Sailing is an addiction I have. When I started on PoF 1½ years ago I was looking to crew on a boat, but couldn't find anyone interested, so I got my own boat (paid in full, but only 20'). This winter is got the "sailor's disease" (biggeritis, a.k.a. two-footitis) and got a 25'. Both are mine and yes both cost money. But it's MY money!

I also have ART. Again, paid for with MY money. I mention these interests in my profile because they are MY interests and if a guy does not want to accompany me to an art auction or come sailing, he can't complain if I do. My interests are on my profile - live with it or move on.

The other interests you seem to have a problem with, can all be done on the cheap. Most museums in my town have 'free admission' periods during the week. And if one puts on their thinking cap, they can find ways of doing ALL interests on the cheap.

Anyhoo, I'm off to pick up the new rigging for the boat. Did you know B-O-A-T stands for Bring-On-Another-Thousand (MY thousand), cuz I need to make sure my boat is safe.

Now if you'll excuse me, I doing to play outside for the rest of the weekend.

Not any more! Now they are rich women's hobbies.

But you were, I think, also questioning how genuine people are being in their list of interests; or rather, that you have met some women in your area who list "rich" interests that they do not have and use this list as bait to catch themselves a big . . .umm . . catfish.

Ok, that is worth a rant!

Still, to then assume that any woman who lists a few of these "rich man" interests is fishing for a rich man -- well, big leap there and perhaps you do yourself a disservice by rejecting them outright, especially since you have some "rich man" interests yourself. There are plenty of threads here about the many many forms of dishonesty in people's profiles. Anyone who dates off a site like this has to face the possibility of discovering lies, exaggerations, whatever. But unless you extend some trust at the beginning, nothing can begin, or?

@OP:

THAT'S THE TICKET!!!!! CONTINUE TO WHINE AND COMPLAIN ON THIS THREAD THAT YOU CREATED!!!!!

It is what you should have done before you started going into the forum users profiles and started handing out individual insults in pathetic, whiny-ass messages. People like you would be doing everyone a favor if you would stay out of the forums and emailing us because you feel jaded.

be realistic, at least say that you like money, fast cars, and nine inch nails.

don't care about money or fast cars, but I do like Nine Inch Nails - great background music for whipping or flogging men

This is funny. No one could possibly know what is important to me in a man by my interests.

I have Live Music and Theater on my intrests but I can tell you that money has never been an issue with me in my selection of men. I never even care about their finances, it's of no consequence to me. I do just fine on my own.

I have always loved live music. Live theater mostly because I used to perform in drama quite a bit and grew to love it. Performing Arts is what they call it. There are lots of places around here with live music for free and small theaters with small price tickets.

Not sure I like being stereotyped, but whatever.

OP, have you read any of the men's profiles? I guess not.

First, if that is what some women are into, it's their interests and not up for YOU to judge what they like. Tennis costs me nothing here. My uncle has a sail boat. So far, those are zip to me...gosh, I must be a gold digger!

When I read a lot of men's profiles they sound more like they are geared towards finding male buddies to hang with, rather than find a woman. They will talk about all guy stuff and their favorite teams and so on. But what makes a woman interested? They leave out what they have to offer a woman. Do they have a softer side? Do they like to do some simple things like gardening in spring? So on and so forth.

Why should women put interests that they don't like just because you can't get a date and think all women are gold diggers? You sound extremely bitter. Maybe it's your personality that is lacking. Maybe you send lousy, short, or general emails and that's why you don't get dates. Don't blame the women.

Women know what I mean by the emails you get. They are so general like 'How are you?' Why should a woman answer that? 'You're hot'. etc. That one makes me laugh because I don't have pics up and have gotten the copy and paste emails like that...you know the mass emails.

Put on the big boy pants, OP and realize women can put their interests and you can put your's. Geesh. Whiney AND bitter...quite a catch, buddy...and now women can see your posts and know it...might as well start your profile over.

It's ok if you're not in to culture but why knock someone who does enjoy cultural activities??? Do you feel inferior? You know, every man I've ever dated...complained all the way to the theater for their first performance...& loved it afterward! Same for classical music. If you know which tunes to play, you find them very enjoyable in the right mood. I can also enjoy a good monster truck rally & those dirtbikes circling those globes. Even a demolition derby. Objectivity is very attractive. I think what women are saying if you read between the lines, is that they would like to enjoy some of these activities that their close minded [couch potato during superbowl & penant season,] ex husbands refused to attend. We're tired of cooking & fixing the superbowl snacks, time to get out and have some fun & feed the brains some of us didn't get to use in a cultural way. Honk if you agree, ladies!
