How many people are aware of how much the government is borrowing ??

howe selfish to think like that. You may be at the end of your career but what about the next generation who will be saddled with billion of pounds of debts and who will have to pay it back? At the moment I am looking for funds, grants or loans, for my 3 children who are about to start uni. I am told that grants are no longer available and I might get partial funding ( small loan) for accomodation but no tuition. How on earth am I expected to give my children a good start in life?

Meanwhile the new manager of the RBS has just been given a £10 million pay package.
Has this governement learnt nothing?

Vote differently at the next election

Has this government learnt nothing?

3 times since the war we have had a labour government and on each occasion the country has been on the verge of bankruptcy, this government can only borrow and spend, what did you expect,

The question you should be asking is…have the people not learnt anything yet.

How many people ae willing to take a stand against unfair bank charges and crippling credit cards rates?

how many people are willing to protest against house repossessions?

How many people are willing to protest against increasingly crippling council tax?

How many people are willing to protest against dear gas, water and electricity?

How many people are willing to protest against old people being ailed for non payment of council tax?
How many people are willing to take to the streets and send Mps the message that all crooked MPS should be sacked and prosecuted?

I rest my case

Why would a different incoming government be any different from this one? With MPs expenses revealed is it any wonder they lost the appetite to fight for their constituents as long as they are allright? Why would they seek lower mortgage payments when they don't have to pay for it, or council tax, or telephone, or gas, or electricity etc.

Typical profligate labour government. Thatcher cleaned up the last labour debacle and was lambasted at every opportunity. She had more balls than her entire cabinet, pulled in the purse strings, went to the IMF and got us out of the preverbial. Best prime minister we've had since Churchill, a true leader in every sense of the word. Stabbed in the back by a bunch of clueless snobs.

How many people ae willing to take a stand against unfair bank charges and crippling credit cards rates?

Not me, my bank were quite clear open and honest about their charges should I go over any agreed limit, so how can I complain about it afterwards if I do?

how many people are willing to protest against house repossessions?

Not me. If you cannot pay for something, shy should you be allowed to keep it? I wasn't aware that life 'owes' us anything?

How many people are willing to protest against increasingly crippling council tax?

Not me. I pay the tax for the services I receive and I feel those services are necessary. Should I expect someone else to pay for them? If so, who?

How many people are willing to protest against dear gas, water and electricity?

Not me. Our bills are not expensive. The way we live is. We had cheaper energy than was realistic and that period has ended.

How many people are willing to protest against old people being ailed for non payment of council tax?

These cases are few and far between and when they do occur, it's usually because they CAN pay but won't as opposed to jailing those who can pay. If there was a case of a needy pensioner being jailed, I'd be against it.

How many people are willing to take to the streets and send Mps the message that all crooked MPS should be sacked and prosecuted?

Crooked MPs usually are.
If you're refering to the expenses/allowances, it seems to me that if we paid them comensurate with the position, a salary competetive to industry rates, we wouldn't need to give them expenses.

It also seems to me that your main gripe is some people have more cash than you.

They take out student loans and get part time jobs. That's what I had to do to get through University.

Maybe you should do some investigating instead of casting aspersions mate.

Please point me towards the research. I could do with a good laugh.

Why don't you look at the abolition of the gold standard and start there laughing boy.

Don't try and come back with a whitty retort or a sarcastic comment. I won't be wasting my time reading it.

Some people are part of the solution and others are part of the problem, when all the "me me me's" out there learn they are part of the problem, maybe we will be able to start talking to each other in a more constructive way looking for solutions instead of "get rich quick schemes" or excuses.

As a Yank, I have to smile just a little bit at the amount of money the UK government is borrowing to keep the bankers in business. Some of the money the US government has borrowed is going to the same banks in England too. They should be happy.

Hey man. :)

I'm more familiar with the financial status of the U.S. for some reason, but the relationship between the U.S. government & the Federal Reserve is comparable to the Bank of England's relationship to the government of the U.K.

It's the biggest money pyramid scam of all time- Fed Reserve OR BoE.

Incidentally, there's a difference between the U.K. government and the government of the U.K.

Read "Empire of the City" to find out more, or watch the videos on google, to discover why "The City of London", "The Vatican" and Washington's "District of Columbia" all have Egyptian style obelisks somewhere within their construction.

Roman Catholicism and Egyptian obelisks- que?
