Sob,SoB,SoB,SoB!My.....hips are ok.........they fit ok.......they look nice........ I like them......that girl has lovely hips and well shaped..............I have no jarring of flesh on bone.............Sob!
Next year at the CALOUNDRA cup race meeting I am seriously thinking of wearing skinnies with appropriate shirt, jacket and skinny belt and 'self immolate' in the middle of the racecourse when the cup race begins IF I have not received the (expected) approval of the race day crowd! They will have much better dress sense!YOU'LL SEE!
And I will always be remembered for it!And I don't care!I like skinnies!I like skinnies I like skinnies!I like skinnies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gulp........Gulp...............GULP..............

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/4/2009 3:33:06 AM | PETER4444..................get your facts straight please!
Firstly I was talking about a girl I saw at the local shops not the girls in the pictures that were posted conveniently after my comments and I didn't know the person was posting.
Don't quote me out of context - thanks very much.
Secondly I am not trying to look like the models and I never made a comment about them. I am very happy with my curves and obviously so are the guys that email me.................LOL.
Oh and I love these people who don't post a picture but feel qualified to comment on the rest of us. Too funny.

spicynicegirl; The comment you made concerning the person you saw and referred to as 'unflattering' in skinnies (in this thread) perhaps may have been better suited to skinnies when she was younger and skinnier.
Hope that explains my intimation on your comment;no offence intended and the comment was definitely not intended to in any way refer to you!
In humble response to your last sentence I will again expose my lamentable torso to abject ridicule and verbose comment.
(Hope I don't get a 'contract' out on me out of this comment..........gulp......gulp.......me and my big mouth...........gulp...........help................)

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/4/2009 4:56:42 AM | Hilly1971 on 8/4/2009 8 54 PM (^^^Ahh...but will you take your skinnys off and swirl them around your head when Cheeky wins the main race??) Hilly;I love this comment;there is a horse called 'swirl the kilt'......!
The shock and trauma to the public by any attempt by myself to be seen 'nekkid' would result in a 'stampede to the turnstiles'by the general public and I need them to get a good price for the winner of the cup!
Now you say that this 'orse o you'rn has one good leg..............gotta think..........maybe if I can convince all the other trainers (or persuade them!(without menace!)) to give their 'orses a slight rest during the race...........gotta think...
Now there is a victorian trainer who has horses in Caloundra........
(this lady is getting 'cheeky'...........s'ok.....naamah has her just where she wants her... She said this was very serious at the outset .........she's right!Thread cranking genius? NAH!.................SIMPLY A GENIUS.........)

(fau pas has been 'deafeningly' silent........and after ALL that research he did..........) Hehe . . lucky you called me actually. But, you really are doing a much better job of all this . . and speaking of faux pas (what's the plural of faux pas anyway?) . .
To wit . . this bit, Pete
spicynicegirl's comment perhaps (wistfully!) laments the passing of the years......and a body shape unlike that of the models. I mean . . with all your obvious experience you must be familiar with the material known as Nomex, yeah? I mean . . you have some Nomex skinnies, right?
Ummm . . did Hilly finally admit she's a crank? . . marvellous! *meanwhile . . eagerly awaiting a profile pic of missfee1 showing off her skinny jeans*

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/4/2009 6:09:43 AM | tracksuit pants, ugg boots and flannel shirts were trendy )(Still are in most working class shopping malls...lol)
Formless, shapeless and bland ;depicts (unconsciously)the sad state of disrepair that we may inflict on our psyche' if we allow our mood to coalesce with our class structure...........find such clothing sad.......except for gardening;each to their own..... Actually I would challenge you on that Peter...not on the uggies, never gone there...but I have some trackie pants that I think would make you wash your mouth out...Ok, I wouldn't wear them anywhere other than locally or hanging out at friends' places, but still...never thought I'd say this about trackies, but these ones are actually kinda hot. And, some women can make flanno shirts look pretty sexy with a pair of jeans, and hair up, bit of decolletage on display...if you like the country girl look. Never the two things together though...
As for the two skinny jeans pics on the forum (naughty naughty) I thought one of the girls had a great figure, the other one looked a little hipless but it might have just been the angle... and both would look sexier in nicer jeans. For me it's the way skinnies cling to the calf (although I must say, in those two pics the jeans seem to have some movement around the models' calves rather than being skintight but bunched up like ones I've seen in the street)...the ones in the street seem to cause the thigh to look big, even when it's not. Bootlegs just wouldn't do that to a decent thigh! Skinnies also make the feet seem disproportionally big. So, a naturally nice leg becomes a thunder thigh big foot.

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/4/2009 4:09:12 PM | Faux Pa on 8/4/2009 11 27 PM
faux pa;I meant to say faux pa's;got carried away!(off with me 'ead for such abuse of Her Royal and gracious majesty's English!)and yes, your silence has been noticed and wistfully missed!Suffice to say that my even disposition has returned this fine day and Byron rules once again.Or maybe the 22 km fast walk to 'clear the head' was the 'culprit'! The plural of 'faux pas' is akin to the plural of 'sheep' and I refer with specificity to the "gay" type referred to on this thread.
As for Nomex;the use of it here is unnecessary because I could not comment on a lower torso that was not visible to accommodate the skinnies !
I hide my profile and image except in cases of undue provocation and then return to my normal state because I do not send, receive or (usually) expect E-MAILS and I am not emotionally fragile to the point that I need 'em to feel secure. Each to their own.As indicated in my case I am 'strictly forum". Hilly is awesome and this ongoing thread is living proof.......I am planning that betting coup but the race to plan for is the race before the cup which is also prestigious and there is a Victorian trainer with 'orses in 'dem 'dere hills...........who can plan for next June............The race is on!
Reckon missfee1 may eventually meet your expectations.......given the fact that you need a large sample for your research............which will provide a more accurate correlation coefficient for your hypotheses!
au revoir!Ana Gabriel (the greatest singer of all time!) rules my day!

Naamah:The generic type of trackies from woolies are shapeless, baggy, saggy, daggy and moggy!Sorry but it is my opinion(only!)!The designer ones look ok I grant you but again the quality and shape of the person wearing them is all important. As for the flannies a wide torso allows the pattern on it to make it (the torso) even wider........no thanks;prefer narrowing styles;guess it's personal taste.
The narrower hips on one of the models is easily enhanced;a white tight sash (around the waist)when she walks will leave you(me?) gasping!
And as for males wearing trackies;I tell you right now that it is an atrocious sight that leaves a scar on my soul and when I see the stains and food traces on them my guts dry retch!
As always;each to his own!I realise that I am using a 'reticle' to make my point but there is such a thing as 'visual pollution'!

Hmmm.... the one on the left in that post by BiggShoulders actually reminds me a bit of an ex...
... I guess that sums up my opinion on this topic...
As for my whereabouts... hahahahahaha... been busy finishing off my masters on something that's probably not as valuable, and certainly not as highly prized, as it once was... but! the end is near, and yep, that drink is still on...

If your degree is based on 'a postmodern analysis of the rise and fall of skinny jeans as it applies to urban societies post WW2', then this is the thread for you! I wish you the best of luck with your research into this very important topic.
|
| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/5/2009 6:48:04 AM | The rise and fall of skinny jeans on the fairer sex is a fascinating topic and always worthy of careful analysis...
So... any volunteers for my research?... I am particularly interested in researching the fall of skinny jeans... The rise, well, only in the morning...

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/5/2009 9:10:04 AM | does the research envolove culling a emo or 10.
but more importantly what jeans would jesus wear?
|
| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/5/2009 3:21:55 PM | | Rumour has it that Jesus drifted around in a robe of some sort but .. today? Here and now ? ..NO doubt about it , he'd be a sex symbol of course , as I bet He was then , and he'd wear surf gear and , well, long hair and his eyes would be fixed on that perfect wave building up towards shore . Oh to be Mary Magdalene !!!!! | |

"been busy finishing off my masters on something that's probably not as valuable"
Hi; Tarvold:Congratulations;and well done! And it is so important! If we are to change for the better it is only through education and example!
This 'skinny' is a centre for research by a dude with pseudonym ' faux pa' who, using practical and visual parameters (subterfuge for many other diversions I'll warrant!) has evolved a diffinitive theory of which the 'mind boggles' !
His research and conclusions are yet to be publicly advocated but the initial (privately divulged)propositions leaves one "faltering for breath" and if it ever surfaces in it's entirety I believe it will cause a revolution!
We await further outcomes with abated breath!

The quality skinnies have no issues with respect to stretch and their use on the lower body have no issues in day to day use;it depends on the quality of the garment and of course the lower body shape which is more user friendly to skinny bodies!

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/5/2009 4:08:54 PM | (Boot cut Levis of course...with Blundies)

(How many children will I have to sell to be able to buy a pair??)
mmmmm...................they are more more expensive than Levi's but quality through and through and the flared type which is a SIDE POCKET faded type would be suitable and don't be so derogatory about your 'ass and thighs'!
The Levi's have poorer quality control with less durability and they trade up using 'brand name' as they are worldwide!
Aussie brand Satch is the go for me anyway.......but I have many Levi's having been initiated to the 200 series and up to the 800 series through time and personally believe Satch........'sits well on the asss and thighs'!
All in All.....personal choice!
Blundies are beaut though; My daughter never wore out a pair over 6 years part time at a supermarket deli and you know the oil and fat she walked on is very destructive to a normal pair;but Blundies?Nope!
Given the cheap disposable TFC we have here from o/seas and their durability I buy Australian which additionally minimises my carbon footprint.
About the price of Satch; dependent on size,around$190 but I get 'em heaps cheaper on sales 'cos my 'ass' is size5 or 6......... and they can't sell 'em ...............................................................
I guess I am lucky......got a throway price on a Lauren polo Black short sleeved (real skinny 100% cotton) shirt simply on the fact that it was so small and narrow!
At the end of the day it is about fit and style and you're right;different styles suit different shapes but Satch does flatter.........personally!

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/6/2009 12:47:20 AM | | But you have skinny legs don't you ? I sort of imagine you anyhow with skinny Byronic legs .... but I did look at your pic. and you aren't brooding at all ! How come old Romantic Hero Lord Byron grabs your imagination . ON topic , no clinging sweaty skinny jeans I say but loose snug around the hips but comfy unskinny jeans . Comfort is all ...I am not up for uncomfortable clothes even if it's fashionable . I can still brood and think angst ridden thoughts in loose jeans ! | |

| Skinny jeans....yes or no? Posted: 8/6/2009 6:29:11 AM | nevaagin on 8/6/2009 6 20 PM (How come old Romantic Hero Lord Byron grabs your imagination) nevaagin;Aw........Gee..........That would be 'telling'.
This 'Rottweiler' woman named 'Lamb' (no,not the gay one previously referred to on this thread) terrorised Him,he was a member of the house of lords and a royal subject of His most gracious and Royal King George!Additionally This Brilliant genius wrote pearls of wisdom in prose and literature and was very articulate and informative about all his travels so I found him a fascinating individual;personal choice I guess.
The skinny jeans are comfortable and never overheat even in summer;the quality cotton types breathe and stretch with ease and comfort but suitability is a personal choice.
Each to thier own! | |
