| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/12/2005 1:06:53 PM | I honestly think Ric Flair is over rated. His body always looked like a 70 year olds , and now he just doesn't make himself look good at all. Atleast Hogan still has the body, flair...lol what does he have in terms of body, just old hanging skinn, no offense.
I am serious about this, I bet I can literally take flair out in a fight. Yeah he is funny especially when he falls head first into the mat but still should retire i think.
Another over rated guy Randy Orton. He got a cheap push last year to beat Chris Beniot for the title. Orton will never ever be nearly as good as Beniot is.
I will still go with Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Goldberg, Sting, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall and also Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/14/2005 8:00:08 PM | | tha best wrestles has gotta be GOLDBERG 165 and 0 record in WCW thats sounds good to me | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/14/2005 8:12:08 PM | 165 versions of the same move ho hum, possibly the most overrated wrestler ever im sure about the best though hehehehe | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/14/2005 8:18:21 PM | Goldberg was shortlived, and the WWE audience did not buy into him. The problem he ran into when he came to the WWE was that Bautista was already gaining popularity, and was essentially the same character. They both could not exist together without making them both look like knock offs of one another. Ozzie | |

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/15/2005 9:51:37 AM | O god this is easy.......Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Flair, Taker, Jericho, Hall, Nash, Benoit, EddieG, ya know there really are too many to name to put as number one or best:) heheh.....and i've met quite a few since WMX:) Those guys kills me off the camera;) Goofy guys.....i'm still determined to meet The Rock, Piper, Shawn(after he found God, have met him many times before then but this should be interesting as he's in a good place in life more than he was when we met) and Triple H(as of now, i haven't met him since he went DX lol, yep a longggggggg time lol):P Have many stories but wouldn't know which one to start:P hehe......just know that most off camera are goofs:P | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/15/2005 11:49:20 AM | Yea, they are total goof balls off the camera. My step dad runs an arena, and I got to meet a bunch of the guys after a taping of Nitro about 10 years ago (geeez, was it that long ago??? Wow). I got to meet Flair, Jericho, Nash, Sting, Rey Mysterio Jr, Guerroro, and many more. They were such a crack up and totally down to earth. It was very funny to have watched the show and seeing them act like they hated each other, then in the back just completley laid back and hanging out together. Ohhhh I cant forget, gotta meet Tori Wilson and Staci Kibler (Ms. Hancock at that time) as well, RRRRRRRRRRR. Definately the highlight of the evening, LOL. Ozzie | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/15/2005 7:02:04 PM | LMAO i bet it was the highlight hahaha.....you shoulda seen me when at WMX i had the dream of meeting so many at the bar in NY due to connections of friends, first for it all-ppv-going to ny-meeting them.....got to meet and go nuts on Shawn/Razor/BDC/JJ/Owen/ack who the heck else....Jack Tunney was there, Vince came in, Macho was there, we sang to Shawn when we thought he was leaving omg it was the bomb, got to give(in my gone mind)a peck kiss on the cheek to Razor, and hug o i was gone hahaha.....i went going ape on Shawn & Razor and left mainly going ape at Razor cause he was the nicest of them all:) Since then Hall has always been a doll in person:) Same with Nash tho it's hard to concentrate when he's got wild eyes hahah.....i got to meet Eric B while in WCW when i went to 2 Havocs and JUST MISSED PIPER DAMMIT lmfao......I lost my mind meeting Sting and Jericho hahah....one time i got to sit with Hall during a WCW show out here and Rey was sitting near and he alerted me that it was Rey by sayin Hey Rey Rey and then i knew and was like "Omg he looks like a little kid" in my head hahaha........i would say one of the funniest moments with Hall happened that nite and boy was it funny LOLOL | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/15/2005 7:57:37 PM | | Yea, Hall and Nash were two of the nicest guys in the back. It made me really sad to see Hall go downhill the way he did with the drugs and alcohol. Just a constant battle for him. But such a nice person in actual life. And yea, Rey did look like a little boy. He still looks young now...but 10 years ago he looked like a kid kid. And to see him standing next to the big guys...that was a crack up too. You got all these 6'5"-6'9" giants walking around, and Rey comes strolling in. I actually missed him and it was not until they called him over to introduce him that I realized,"hey that's Rey Mysterio". Sting looked completely different without his make up. His facial structure and everything. If you didnt know it was him, people wouldnt recognize him at all. | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/15/2005 9:24:22 PM | Yeah that's what happened to me with Sting, i met him when he went to the darker hair era and when i saw him come out of the bathroom at a hotel i just had to ask him "Didn't i just see you with makeup?" lmfao....it just happened i was around there when he came out.....he wiggled his eyebrows hahah.....it was after Superbrawl when he beat Hogan i think in 97 or 98.....he goes "Uhhh maybe" being funny haha.....he's funny, and signed something for me:) Next time i met him i got a pic with him, it was hysterical cause he was sans makeup & holding a beer hahaha......karmasretro, if you go there some of my pics with wrestlers are there or those that i've taken are there, Gayle is the owner of the site and she has buds of her as well as herself(she's a big Piper fan)send in photos & stories......YES I MET SID hahahah finally I MET SID in 99 hahah | |

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/18/2005 5:13:59 PM | Anyone who says "Goldberg" and "Greatness" in the same sentance should be taken out the the street, and beaten.
He has 4 moves. They made him world champion, yet he couldn't pull off a decent match over 5 minutes if it would save his life.
I think Greatness and I think of Ric Flair. He still has it. He may be old and have saggy man-tits, but he can make ANYONE look good, and entertain the hell out of a crowd while he does it.
I think of hasbeens and I think of Hulk Hogan. For the last 5 years, he has NO right to be in that ring. He's old. Broken. Egocentric. Unwilling to put over much younger, much more talented wrestlers. Sure, I liked Hogan when I was 8. Then I got older and I realized that he SUCKS in ring compared to everyone. Hell... I'd rather see Vampiro or The Wall back than have to see Hogan's wrinkled ass again.
I digress....
Best Pro Wrestler? Chris Benoit. Period. End of discussion.

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/18/2005 11:40:08 PM | Goocher-
For the record, I always thought the Wall had a lot of potential, especially for his size. He could move, and considering he was trained by the Power Plant, which had to be the most useless school in existance, he wasn't bad in there.
Unfortunately, he never got to see that potential, as he passed away a couple of years ago.
Now, I'm going to break down several wrestlers that have been mentioned in this thread... not just on their work, but also on their interviews, historical signifigance, and their impact on the business, positive or negative, mainly because I am so nuts about wrestling I want to make it my career, but also because it's 1 AM and there's no one to talk to :)
Ric Flair -Pros: Was incredibly effective in a top spot for 25 years. That kind of longevity is amazing. Put together some of the most memorable matches of that time frame.. in his prime, it was said he could carry a broomstick to a **** match. One of the best interviews ever. -Cons: Could be argued that he worked the same match for much of those 25 years. Alienated a lot of workers in his creative power. Should've retired 10 years ago. -Overall, he's up there. Definitely. He should really walk away while he CAN walk away.
Ricky Steamboat -Pros: Was perhaps the most fluid wrestler that ever worked. Had some damn memorable matches, and was effective in many different roles throughout his career. Put anybody over, was always a team player. -Cons: Never worked heel. Wasn't particularly charismatic, and never was a great interview. Outside of his programs with Flair and Savage, wasn't in many particularly memorable angles. Most of his strikes were overly contrived looking and very, very fake looking. -I'd put him near the top peg of workers, but I'd have some reservations about making him a top guy.
Bret Hart -Pros: Had a lot of great matches. Incredibly influential in that he was one of the first smaller heavyweights to make it in a top spot in the "age of big men". Maybe the best "storyteller" in the ring. -Cons: Was only TRULY effective on the mic as a heel. Bought his own BS. Five. Moves. of. Doom. -I'd put him in that top echelon.
Shawn Michaels -Pros: The most exciting wrestler to make it in a top spot. Could work any style of match. Incredibly charismatic, could work at any spot in the card, and was equally as effective as a baby or a heel. Influential in initiating the "attitude" era. -Cons: Unprofessional little f_ck. Abused his power, and from all accounts, his "religion" hasn't change any of that. -I honestly think that Shawn was the complete package in the ring, as much as his antics disgust me. I'd put him as my #1, more than likely.
Chris Benoit -Pros: Overall, the best worker to ever live. Could brawl, go to the air, or mat-wrestle as well as anyone in the business... maybe ever. -Cons: Not a lot of memorable storylines. Was a horrible interview for much of his career. -In the ring, just amazing, but wasn't enough of a complete package to be placed on that upper elechelon, but he's close. Probably along the same level as Steamboat.
Hulk Hogan -Pros: Amazing interview, had a strong knowledge of psychology. Had a strong run on top for well over 15 years. -Cons: Was a primary factor in the "big man era". Was at best lazy, at worst rather deteriorated in the ring. Used his influence and power to push his friends and screw over more deserving workers. Won't stay away. -Important, but belonging on a best of all time list? No way.
I'll do more tomorrow. | |

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/21/2005 6:14:01 PM | HELLO? HAVE YOU ALL FORGOTTEN ABOUT ROWDY RODDY PIPER? BRUTUS THE BARBER BEEFCAKE? SUPERFLY JIMMY SNOOKA? YALL NEED TO INVESTIGATE A LITTLE DECADE CALLED "THE 80'S" WHEN WRASTLIN' WAS TRULY WRASTLIN'.
there i said my piece. | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/21/2005 11:25:58 PM | Rowdy Roddy Piper.....definately one of the greatest wrestling entertainers of all time, and he laid the foundation for on camera interviews. Wrestlers still try to imitate him....but he is the original and best interviewee of all time...with only Ric Flair coming close. Don't know if I would put Brutus or Snooka at the same level through. IMHO there are very few wrestlers that can even be mentioned in the same sentence as: Piper, Flair, or Bret Hart. They are the Babe Ruths of wrestling. Currently I dont see any of todays wrestlers having the impact on the sport that the 80's wrestlers had. Perhaps the closest would be The Rock since he effectively reached and succeeded on the big screen. Oz | |

| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/22/2005 1:21:19 PM | Greatest Underdog Wrestler.....Mick Foley/Cactus Jack/Mankind.....we'll forgive him for the Dude Love blunder. Greatest High Flier: Toss up between Snooka and Sabu Greatest Small Wrestler: Rey Mysterio hands down. However X-Pac was very good before he became a head case. | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/22/2005 2:27:55 PM | Greatest resilience, and fighting underdog wrestlers for their size-Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels.
Greatest dominant wrestlers of similar size, Goldberg and Ultimate Warrior.
Coolest wrestlers in the ring, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash
Best all round entertaineres and on the mic and in ring fan participation- Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and maybe the Rock and Stone Cold and Shawn Micheals
Best wrestlers in the moral area and as it relates to kids- Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart.
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/22/2005 3:03:10 PM | I would agree that Hall and Nash were the stuff when they were a team. One of the greatest teams. Flair was also on top of the "Cool meter" when he was in his prime...whoooo. I would have to argue with the greatest moral wrestler being Hogan. Preached a lot of eating your vitamins and saying your prayers, then would go in the back and shoot up. hmmmmm. Kinda like Madona telling girls to not have sex, then hooking up with Dennis Rodman...dont ya think? | |
|
| Best Pro Wrestler of all time Posted: 9/22/2005 5:28:53 PM | Some of my favourites:
(Keep in mind it's entertainment first, wrestling second)
- Hulk hogan (best ever) - Andre the giant - King kong bundy - Randy macho man savage - The million dollar man Ted Dibiase - Jake the snake roberts - Brutus the barber beefcake - Razor ramone - The Rock - Steve Austin - Vince McManon - Shane McManon - HHH - Ric Flair - Undertaker - Edge & Christian - The Hardy Boys - Demolition - Rowdy Roddy Piper - Honkey Tonk man - Kurt Angle
For a variety of reasons, those are some of the most entertaining wrestlers I've ever seen in my time. And I know I missed some.
