I prefer a smile when one is warranted.......otherwise I would date a woman that looked like "The Joker".
Yikes!!......... Don't forget to smile !

Hey, I" resemble" that remark...I smile most of the time...just my nature...automatic...and last time I asked..I was neither insane or a sociopath...
In fact, one of the things men comment on most often is my smile...

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 12:01:44 AM | Well I smile a lot, and I am certifiable! So there you go! Some of my friends like to greet me with "hi there crazy girl" - and I LOVE it!!! Makes me laugh every time. And biggly is the best word ever - made me LOL - hope the neighbours aren't listening.
Be happy fellow fishies...

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 12:19:58 AM | Thanks for posting this thread. Went to a Beer Fest with the boyfriend tonite at Greensboro Coliseum...tasted some of the worst beers I have ever had in my life...and I love microbrews! Don't ever try Pilot Mountain Brew...tastes like someone put it through a radiator! OMG, had to toss that crap in a bucket. They had this horrible steel drum band there called the Bahama Mamas (yeah, Original Name) and they were all white women on steel drums with absolutely no rhythm. As a musician myself, I was almost to the point of getting up on stage and begging them to stop just to keep them from further embarrassing themselves. They looked like they were all in their fifties and up, and were really struggling...sweating with nerves. Poor women. The place was jam packed with wasted college guys and a handful over over painted college chicks in short shorts and five-inch heels...had to say I got a real good laugh over that. I kept wondering what those girls were thinking...gee, I hope I can go home with a really drunk horny guy this afternoon for a quick bang! I love watching people. Thank God I found the Stella Artois booth and got some decent beer, the guy there was awesome and filled our cups to the brim! Hands down the best beer in the place. Then we went out and ate dinner, settled the stomachs and went back to the hotel and slept off the buzz. So guess what, now it's 3 in the morning, I'm wide awake and playing on the forums. But you put a smile on my face! Thanks! Beth | |

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 12:48:18 AM | OP....I agree with you...no whining, no complaining, no sob stories, no ****ing about the ex, no " what do you think of my profile crap", no , should I leave him or her, no theories on decoding the language of men/women., no what's the best way to give a blow job, no why does he not call after the first date stories, no what's the meaning of life theories, no why won't he wear a condom stories, no why do younger guys like older women questions (let's face it, we all know why..so why ask?), .....totally with you on that one...smile people...it's just life and shit happens and the only thing in life that's free and makes everyone feel good are smiles (-:

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 5:01:18 AM | I totaly agree with you CK. I tried to post a nice thread the other day but it disappeared for some reason. Basicly i just wanted everyone to post something that had made them smile during the day, something that didnt cost much, just some everyday thing that made them feel all warm and fuzzy inside but no one seemed to want to and my thread didnt make it to the forum.
I try to find something in every day that makes me feel good. I note it in my diary to remind me at the end of the day.
The other day i gave a man directions into a building, a few minutes later he followed me into a shop to thank me. He didnt speak much English, but made the effort to find me thank me and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Yesterday my daughter had her friend round, they were playing a game which i joined in and we all had such a laugh over something rather silly.
The day before yesterday i was sitting on the beach and in the sand dunes behind me i could hear birds flapping about, love the sound of their wings as they were darting and playing in the grasses, that made me smile.
We should all smile more and find something nice in every day.

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 5:12:09 AM | Ok, so now we're gonna over-analyze the underpinnings of the smile??
Ya know..........analyze has the word anal embedded in it for a reason!

Ok, so now we're gonna over-analyze the underpinnings of the smile?? Sure, why not?
It all goes back to teeth baring displays, which were functional for demonstrating, say, aggressive feelings, or for signalling dominance/submission in social relationships.
In humans, however, such strong feelings and emotional expression in general can be blocked or modulated by will or intellect, so they can be faked. Actors do this all the time, and they're practically gods the better they are at it.
Not that a demand from someone anonymous (the OP) to do some thing they want me to do (smile) isn't just as likely to be met with a snarl... I don't spread my lips and bare my, er, teeth for just anybody!

| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 8:25:17 AM | | pfffffft...I don't need to be told to smile. Where do you think I got all these gawd awful smile lines from? | |
|
| I demand everybody here to SMILE Posted: 8/16/2009 9:15:45 AM | You wake up and can breathe without struggle, walk unassisted. Picture in your mind's eye a puppy chasing it's tail. Ever seen and heard a baby's belly laugh?
3 reasons to smile... Plenty more if you stop and think about it for a moment.
OP's post and corresponding pic-- Absurd and priceless.
