Posted: 7/26/2009 8:09:49 AM | Never having the occasion to attend a toga party and not knowing what to wear under one, I googled it. WOW! More info then I needed to know about Togas! The range was from Greek togas, Roman togas, where to buy, how to make, how to wrap one, hair styles, accessories, and more. There are blogs about togas and even You tube videos!
But I never did read anything about what to wear under one. So I guess it's fine to wear that red bra, leopard bra and bikini panties or whatever. And yes, there are different ways to wrap for men and for women.
Now about that "test" party...sign me up! | |

The questions I wonder about are questions that do not seem to be asked.
1. Regarding Energy:
All the bustle about going green and renewable energy, is great. In the time of the Mayan and other older civilizations, nature was to be respected and understood as part of the nurturing need of people.
Common sense would say to them " If the bucket is empty, we can not drink. If we over indulge and drink too much, we can not fill a bucket frim an empty well."
Common sense says to me today.
The planet is the well in which we need to nurture and provide for our needs. For all intents and purposes the earth is a container...but, it has within it the things it needs to live.
We remove oil from the earth for our needs and comforts.
What if ?
The earth needs a lubricant as much as your car does. Most of us know that if you do not care for the oil and other fluids in the engine, the engine will sieze, bind and over heat.
What if the earth needs it oil to ease the growth of the planet in a smoother transition ?
I don't know, I'm not a geologist. I'm just a guy with a little bit of college, who has learned to look at the much bigger picture. The idea of going to the moon, frankly, is damn scarey. I don't think we should be going to another planet or moon. Maybe we should learn how to stop screwing up this planet before we go and screw it up somewhere else.
Coronado was an explorer and for the purpose of progress ( read as greed ) found either the Aztec or Mayan people. Coronado's ' discovery ' led to the end of a people.
In todays world we are asking, " How did they do that ?"
In todays time, I don't ask why people do stupid things.
My question is why do they ' keep ' doing stupid things, when they know its stupid.

Nancy - Ok, so the cover charge to this 2012 party will be a package of batteries, a bottle of booze or mixers. Can someone check with Phishy to see what size batteries are needed!!! I may start stockpiling them now.

I googled toga's last year, my daughter was wearing a toga for a party. We used a twin white sheet doubled in half, secured with plenty of safety pins (only I could get her out of it). Yes she wore everything required underneath.
Personally, I like the leopard accessories
Now back to the practice Toga party. Location, location, location??????

Slipper Phishy's blender definitely uses batteries, that's why he brings it to the pre-party events. Just not sure of the size, my guess would be C.

I agree Mike. Funny just today I was watching the weather channel, "storms stories". They showed a town in Kanas that was devastated by a tornado, the town Green Borough, is rebuilding the whole town as a "green" town. It was pretty interesting.

being is she was my daughter, I had her safety in mind! One box of saftey pins, I almost had to cut the toga off. Maybe it was more like preventing a murder, of some teenage boy.
Actually, one large saftey pin is enough, if it is a wrap Toga. Quick change is no problem. Bring on the fashion show!! Woohoo! | |
