I would agree someone should have a real toga party....that could be interesting!!! Ahhhh yeah.... I MAY attend, a definite maybe, but a definite on NOT hosting that one.
However I will vote for "sex on the beach" to be the evil blender speciality.

I just watched a program on the history channel last night.

Episode: Death Rays & Energy Weapons
It was about the government working on future energy weapons from sci-fi movies like Star Wars and Star Trek, and recent inventions like a new airplane mounted laser cannons that can shoot down enemy planes and shoot nuclear missiles out of the sky. Anyway it said the government may actually may be using some of this technology in less than 10-20 years, I thought, wow wonder if the planet will be around then, you know with the possible ending at 2012, or if the technology would be needed, if 2012 brings about a true peace, or if this is part of the "new age" marked by the year 2012 . Just makes you wonder.
O.k. that's enough thinking for now, I wouldn't want to get a head ache!! | |

Yep, about 2012.....on the news it said that we are scrubbing our space missions for 6 years. We won't be sending up our shuttles, but may ask the Russians to give us a ride to the space station. Now, if the world might end 12/21/2012, they certainly don't seem concerned with finding (quickly) a way to live, say, on the moon or else where. Or perhaps the government figures, what is the use??????
Toga party????? hmmmm, if I could think of a place and way to do it, I would volunteer to host it, but would take some planning. Unfortunately, it would probably need guidelines (sigh) | |

Posted: 8/5/2009 7:05:05 PM | Slipper that is interesting with your brother in law. On the program it was showing how they can take down a missile using lasers that burns things up. They have actually created a device that can scan for missiles and other things, lock on target and fire in like nano-seconds. They showed a test they did, and it locked on and blew up a missile they shot off, amazing. They have also been working on "non-violent" ways to fight, by sending electromagnetic waves, they can stop all electronic equipment and not harm a person. They were able to stop a car by sending an electromagnetic wave at the car, which caused the engine to stop and not harm the person. Cops could use it on speed chases, soldiers could use it on the field of oncoming enemy vehicles. Of course it could be used to stop computers, radio's or anything that uses electric to run. I was thinking holy crap, sounds like something from "star wars", then it got better. The government has not only been working on this technology but also on "force fields" to protect from these very same things, against an enemy using this technology on us. Of course a different "energy" field would be needed for different types of Lasers, so they are working on "layering" the fields around say something like "air-force one" It would create a shield around the whole plane and protect it much like the ship on "Independence day" did. It was F**king amazing.
LOL on a more serious note:
Diane if you remember to bring it back this thread, I can find it!! LOL kinda reminds me of those "time capsules" people make, to be viewed years later, except in this case it would only be 2 1/2 years later, not 20, 25 or 50.
