will agree with you there about the attachement to the children. I don't know what I would do if I lost my son
And what you said there where he took the children away from her, I take it that it was out of spite due to the divorce?
Really don't like it when the children get used as a pawn in the divorce that's just wrong.

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/1/2009 5:38:51 PM | You seem to not understand the fact that some woman freak out about being a mother and all they want to do is run like hell with a big check($$$$$$$$$$). Live the single life again. Single fathers are better off not meeting people like you. Karma is Priceless!!! Be Well. | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/1/2009 6:03:48 PM | Which makes the father left behind with the kids a hero right? But us women who are left behind because the child's father freaked out about being a father, we are the bad ones...whatever.
Also if they are freaking out about being a mother, obviously they don't want the kids so how do they get this big check?
Many of us single mothers/fathers are dedicated to our kids and wouldn't bother with dating someone like you anyway.
Yes Karma is priceless, what goes around comes around, treat people like garbage it tends to come back on you.

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/2/2009 5:31:04 PM | I have to agree.
I have been on a couple of dating sites and have not had much luck.
I can't quite figure it out though. While I am not the best looking man I am not unattractive. I make a good income and I come across as intelligent.
The only question I have is whether it is that I am a full time dad or is it that women are just not comfortable knowing that my daughter's mother is active in her life?

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/2/2009 6:55:04 PM | Wow. what a biased opinion. I happen to be a single mother who was blind sided when my now ex husband left me. I had no job, no money, no home, no car and a one and a 2 year old. It sucked. I didn't get married asking for my husband to walk out on me. I got married to be married for life. So yeah he should support his kids. He walked away from us. Not the other way around. He chose to leave his responsibilities and he has also chosen the days that are convenient for him.
So you tell me. Does he deserve to see his kids when he left them behind without a look back? and now he doesn't support them except when he "has time."
I am not looking for a replacement daddy for my kids. But I am looking for someone who can accept them and love them the way that my kids deserve to be loved. If their daddy won't do it, someone else will.

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/2/2009 8:33:10 PM | That really isn't what this topic about though. This topic is single fathers wanting to know if women will stay away from us because we are single fathers.
I am sorry that you had to go through what you did.
|
| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/2/2009 10:14:28 PM | Nope I don't stay away from them, though I am not actively dating. At least a single father would understand what I go through on a day to day basis with my son. And of course I hold to the belief that if they are jerks, or whatever, they were like that before the kids.
So yes there are women who would date a single parent father.
Also should I add, as long as they accepted my son as I would do their child.

My theory is that women want a man to take care of them first, and then their children second. If a guy has his own kids... he's going to put them first. So the women who don't like dating dads are selfish women (more so than the average person).
I could use a lot more descriptive words, but it blurs the point. By "selfish" I mean the worst possible concept of the word. It's convenient to label someone 'selfish' because you don't like their dating preferences, isn't it? Everyone has preferences in dating. Just because I would not consider dating a man with children, it does not make me selfish - it makes me a person that knows my boundaries, and what I'm interested in getting into. I am a teacher, I love teaching other people's kids all day, but I don't have any kids of my own - by choice. Throwing around the 'selfish' label is a cheap ploy.
People have the right to date who they want to date. Should I say someone is selfish because they won't date a brunette? No. Should I cry and whine? No, that would be silly.
I'm thinking Cinderella here. And by the way.. where was Cinderella's dad during the whole story?? I'm stunned you don't know the plot of Cinderella. The dad dies soon after the wedding, leaving Cinderella with the step-mother.

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/3/2009 6:28:45 AM | | Wow! You seem a litl bitter, Jenn8800!! First of all, I'm a single full custodial parent and I know many others that are! My son's father is on the 'better' end of the deal.. He moved to Florida and when talks of him moving back came about, I told him that IF he did (for the sake of his child, which I would meet him in TN for him to spend the summers with his son) I would wipe the back support of $16,000 clean, take it out of court as long as he seen his child every other weekend like he was SUPPOSED to.. But after I did all that, he STILL didn't see his son.. So don't lay all the blame on the parent who actually gives a damn and actually steps up to the plate to take care of the children!! Custodial parents are not all the same.. We do what we have to in the best interest of the child.. Do you know his ex and their situation personally?? Chances are not!! You just needed to vent cuz maybe you were not as fit of a parent as your ex.. I have seen many men that don't take the responibilty as a part time father so in my opinion, I think its great when a man takes on full responsibilty for his children. And honestly, if there wasn't some seriously wrong with the mother, do you think the court would award full custody to the father? I would rather date a man with full custody than a man that hasn't fought for the benefit of his children!! Not saying all part time daddy's are bad because their are some that are great and want to be a part of their lives.. But from what I've seen.. HA.. Plus being a single parent, men that have their children full time are more understanding of the demands of it.. Up until recently my son's father has had just as much say in the goings on.. NOT PAYING A DIME.. And the reasons I don't go after support now it cuz he has 3 other children and I have never depended on it so why take away from them? HE has chosen not to be a part of our son's life.. HE has chosen to not see him.. I did all I could do make sure they had a relationship!! There are rare cases of "revenge" but to generalize and criticize all full custody men.. Please.. That's like saying all women are emotionally unstable or all men are out to use women for sex.. Its not always the case... Get to know the person and their situation before you open your mouth... | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/3/2009 7:36:30 AM | | First I would like to say taht any parent man or woman that chooses not to be part of their children s lives deserve any court order they get. For the few fathers out there that do take care of their responsibilities and want to be part of the nurturing of their kids lives I commend you. Unfortunately with all the bad apples out there and from reading a few posts here I can sympathize with some ladies and what they have gone through, the few of us who want to be there full time have the legal system stacked against us. Stay in their lives as much as you can because in the end they will realize and appreciate you being around no matter what. Now back to the original question of dating. I think it all comes down to maturity. Just like men there are women out there that do not want to be bothered or get pulled into any drama situation. Its a general term but just from reading some posts here its an understandable one. I myself do not take it personal after I reveal I am a single dad and some choose not to date any longer. Think of it as a blessing. She or he wasn't meant to be with you in the first place and it will just allow others to see the good qualities you have in you. Its a choice for your child and it benefits them not to have any negative aspects in their lives. There is someone for everyone and if you do not come across them you wont die from it. You can still enjoy life have a blast and do the best you can for your children. My mom did it with me and my brother and so far I myself am not dying from being single. Keep chuging along man you'll be just fine | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/3/2009 7:55:56 AM | | well, if they're worth the time-they will accept your kids too. i know- many of the women i dated were very cold towards my son. i had custody since he was eleven and i tried the dating thing- but most failed the acid test. it was a package deal,if they didn't accept him it was over before it started. my son always came first. | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/3/2009 9:51:33 PM | WOW Jenn thanks for the boost in confidence, O and by the way she walked out on her own, wanted a life with no kids, doesn't call, or see them, chooses not to have anything to do with them EVER!!!!! I did not "rip" them away from any one. Thats not me or my style, but again thanks for your opinion, we all know what they can mean. Enjoy your happy perfect life while still on a internet singles site ripping apart others. Must make you feel real good about yourself. I guess I won't ask questions anymore. My bad. But for the future you should really know someone and there situation before you try to degrade them like that. And NO I DON'T GET SQUAT from her either.
Must be really hard on the kids. My brothers friends wife split on him also and the kid. She visited sporadically, on days she was to see the son she would not show up some times other times would cancel an hour before the pick up time. I dont know what a mother is thinking when she does such a thing. She eventually left the state shacked up with a new guy. It tore david up, but he grew up with a good support system around him. Did well in school and married a women from his college a few years ago. The father, seemed similar to single mothers, finding it a little more difficult to get on dates due to the responsabilities of raising the child, work, ect. No ones fault just a matter of priorities as a parent. The child will always come first, wouldn't that be the case if it was your child?

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/4/2009 11:07:27 PM | I would imagine a female dating a male single-parent is pretty much a no-brainer.....Let me try to generalise (cough) ...... The single man who's stuck at home would like to take any opportunity to get out and do what usually comes naturally to him i.e. shag. Lots of women, again, generally, seem to understand this and would prefer to meet someone for a non-sexual first encounter. Single-parent females never seem so desperate and the male sexual predator would probably jump at the chance of finding a ready-made stay at home orifice for him to park his car, so to speak. | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/5/2009 9:35:33 PM | LOL at JENN8800 bring her back I want more! I love it lol. Where is that solidierfalcon88 dude who said he would rather gargle glass than date a single mother and that wanted to have a vasectomy so he wouldn't accidently knock up some chick and have to shell out child support. I liked that ****y black girl shaniqua too. Where is futureshock at lol. They don't allow her (futureshock) to post much anymore. Seems like all the people who bash the single parent lifestyle get banned or put on restriction lol.
<div class="quote">"We see you for what you are and that is nasty greedy selfish people with severe entitlement complexes who emotionally and financially abuse innocent people"..... It just makes me so happy you're miserable
bring the b*tch back! | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/6/2009 1:10:41 AM | | Am glad all the judgemental people have been banned or left. It is hard enough being single parents, whatever the reason is you got there, without having judgemental people stuck in 1950 pass their opionion on in an open forum like this. I'm a single mom, take responsibility in the failure of my marriage, but chose to get out when my son was young to not put him in the middle. His father chose to move 2200 miles away and has never given me a single cent to help support him and I don't ask for help. My son has a good life, great oppurtunities, a bright future and dreams big with significant goals to reach; because I do what's right and provide the love, support and encouragement he needs. It's tough to date and I put my dating life third on my list of priorities. I have male friends where their ex's left them with the kid(s) and don't pay support either. It's never an easy situation, but that which does not kill us makes us stronger and I can't believe in 2009 there are still these issues and sterotypes. I would perfer to date single full time dads, just not any in my area. Best of luck to all of us; don't let the crazies bring you down, you've got the best thing in the love/bound with your childern. | |

| Why do women not like dating fulltime single fathers? Posted: 11/6/2009 12:09:38 PM | wow jenn, your passion behind the topic seems to stem from a very personal experience. sweetheart, not all custodial parents went through a bad break like you described, so that doesn't mean you have to be so angry and hateful. what about the single parents that are widows or widowers? do they deserve to be single for the rest of their lives? how about the dads that saved their kids from abusive situations? all i'm saying is, not all custodial parents are "nasty greedy selfish people with severe entitlement complexes who emotionally and financially abuse innocent people."
and if you believe in karma, you should also know that no good will come to you by getting joy out of others' misery or sadness.
i wish you the best of luck and true happiness.
