I really don't know what you're talking about, other than guys noticing that I tend to have a preference for blondes.
But I have dated more than one Asian woman, and never had anyone comment on the fact that she was Asian.

On a side note... Philippinos are Asians too.... Just to point that out to you...
I thought the Filipino's were also known as pacific islanders. I know my last lady friend daughter received a Bill Gates scholarship to the U W and the University of Washington considered her a pacific islander. | |

Geographically it's considered to be an island in the Pacific, although the ethnic background itself is a mix of many others. There's a lot of Spanish blood because of their early settlement in the Philippines, as well as lots of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Indonesian somewhere in the lineage. | |

I don't get the Asian thing. I know a few guys who like Asian girls, and they go on about them like no tomorrow. Personally, not all that bothered. The odd one or two I'm attracted to, but that's about it.
Mind you, I know guys who are that way about meat. They eat it almost every day, and can't seem to comprehend how anyone doesn't want to inject meat in their veins. | |

Dude, a bit of growing up required here, who gives a damn what anyone thinks. If you are dating to please your envious "guys," you need to move on to a different group of guys. Or preferably, grow a pair and tell the "guys" to keep their ill informed, bigoted and stupid opinions to themselves. The "guys" do not have your best interests at heart.

Oh dear ArmyMom, where on Earth did you come up with a generalization like that? I have spent a lot of my working life in Asian countries and I can assure you that Asian woman are much more controlling than most races I have lived amongst.
The difference is they use their intelligence to get things done. Ever heard the phrase "those inscrutable Orientals?" No guesses why the Asian populace et al, captures that reality. They are natural born negotiators and way more subtle than a good percentage of the petulant, I want it now, narcissistic women of the Caucasian world. | |

Posted: 9/11/2009 2:53:19 PM | it's true asian women can be much more controlling than caucasian women. i'm more of a polynesian or pacific islander background, which can be more so. they are quite matriarchal. if you think they are not, that's because you're not familiar with them. they do pick their battles though, they don't jump at everything thrown at them.
one thing i don't like about the title of this thread is that: the word 'curse' and 'asian' being in one sentence. | |

You are absolutely spot on! The man in a traditional family has the prestige of being the head of the household, but the real power is often in the hands of his wife. If you want something done, you'd be best served to go to her and gain her favor. They are indeed natural born negotiators, who can work you over without your even suspecting.

And my few friends who have been truly honest about it told me that they feel threatened by asian women.
I personally don't get it. I am attracted to some asian women... but I'm attracted to petite brunettes and some asian girls definitely could be described as such.
I don't think there is any superior race ... but I am happy to be attracted to brunettes because no race is unattractive to me :)
In answer to the OP... I kind of know what he is talking about... but one's friends would have to have no lives at all to put so much interest in who someone else is attracted to.
