Thank you Rustic good post.

Blood tests are commonly used for pregnancy confirmation. Levels can vary from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy.
I tested positive 2 weeks after sex once.
Also tested negative until i was a month and a half along with my son.
They can determine exact hcg levels, and are more accuarte than urine tests.
Wasnt aware this was a insult yung mama thread.

Did you mean that you thought it was odd that you tested positive two weeks after you had sex?

2 weeks after you had sex would be around the time your period would be due. It would be normal for a pregnancy test to detect that.

I think everyone commended her for quitting the drugs.

Of couse I am glad she quit drugs, it goes without saying. This is a dating site, not a drug support site.

I expect many typos and spelling errors here..however, in at least the posts where you are telling people how well you are doing in school, I would hope one would put in their best effort. If one can get through two years of college using the word "threw" when you mean "through" consistantly, it makes me think either someone is lying or the educational system is much worse than I ever could have imagined.

no father is better than having an abusive, crack addicted one. Trust me. My children, whom are adopted, were born to a crack addicted mother who also drank during her preg. The will be forever suffering with the effects of the drugs...so will I .

You need to go to NA...Narcotics anm. They are like alcohol anmp----and YOU need to get a sponser, and read..read..read...YOU have to admit that this drug has controlled your ex's life, and in his sickness, YOU have become just as sick. With the help of NA, you will realise that there is a HIGHER power, even stronger than Crack....or sex....for me it's God...and He will help you thru every step of your life, if you let him.

You can't change this man, you can't fix him. The only thing you can fix is YOU. YOU need to be the BEST person for your child...blessing that he/she is. YOU need to protect him/her from the effects of crack and the emotional roller coaster that this man will put YOU and your child thru.

I am here for you if ever you need to talk!...Stay strong, and really take these words to heart:

there are things in your l ife you can fix
there are things in your life you can't fix
The wisdom comes from know the diffrence in the two.

You have been given a real gift....your child. Focus on him/her.....The crack will poison not just your ex, but you and your whole family....STAY AWAY!!!

from someone who really knows....God bless!

I never said anyone was stupid. I never said I was perfect or smart. Why read into things that are not there?

If a person thought they might be a few weeks PG I would think they might wait a few days to see if they got their period. After that if you went to a Dr to find out , I think a simple pee test would be ordered. There is more to this story..perhaps you expressed concern about STD's, then a blood panel would be run. Did you tell the DR's about the drug abuse? I wonder if a blood panel can reveal drugs still in the system?

i done a pee test as soon as i left all of that and moved to a stable place, with my dad. The thing on why they dix the blood test is because When i went to the e.r i told them i took 2 home pregnacy test and they were possitive. So the done an ultrasound and did not see anything such as the baby. So she ordered a blood test. They called me two days later, said it was possitive and let me set up a profile.

The question about how did i feel i was pregnant.. I just had the feeling. Im not sure if every woman knows but I did.

No I was not trying to get pregnant but anybody who has unpretected sex is ,in the public eye, "trying" to get pregnant... I def did not think I was stable anough at the time, it was the last thing on my mind. but I would not change it for anythinv. I love being a mommie more then life..

but anybody that may be reading this and you are young,as in even my age, and trying to or wanting to get pregnant, please wait till you can support the child on your own.. and also, it is soo much harder at times then it looks..

I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks with a blood test. At 3 weeks you have only been pregnant one week pregnant. How did you manage to get a blood test immediately after becoming pregnant? Where you trying? And my fertility boards I'm on now claim that even a blood test isn't that accurate that soon

As long as the embryo has implanted, hCG is being released. If there is hCG, it is detectable by most urine (and blood) based pregnancy tests. 2 weeks after ovulation is plenty of time for the average test to work in the average woman (I said average because there are exceptions). 2 weeks after ovulation is also the time when most women's periods are due.

But we need to clarify what we mean by 1 week pregnant. The scenario I posited would be considered either 1 month pregnant or 2 weeks pregnant.

So maybe she found out when she was 4 weeks pregnant, which would mean actually 2 weeks pregnant, using your example.

It does really depend on the woman. At 3 weeks the blood test for me came up positive but I took a digital pee test that came out negative. I thought my doctor was lying to me because he had tried so long to convince me to not get my tubes tied. lol. I was ready to sue him and everything. I know...I was crazy. It was a crazy moment. I thought he was just trying to stop me from having the surgery done. I didn't test positive (on a urine test) until early the next week.

Before I took the home test pregnancy I was commuting home from work when I saw a little girl with her mom. I knew I was having a little girl. Was just a feeling I got. Week later took the test I was pregnant. 9 months later I had my little girl. Who says intuition doesn't work. I knew I was having a little girl even though I didn't find out the sex of my baby till she was born.

Oh hell no! You do not leave a child or bring a child into the world of a drug addict. What are you thinking? Is this a post from one of the high school kids who are on summer break who have nothing to do? Get real. Drugs and kids do not mix. It's sad that you even have to ask this question. Makes me wonder about you.

2 Weeks pregnant = conception. Doctors count gestation from the first day of your last period. Gestation is 280 days from the first day of your last period, because there is currently no way to pinpoint conception.

They do not tell you your beta level unless you ask.

You are being dishonest about something.

I had a feeling I was pregnant. I woke up one morning from a crazy vivid dream, and just had the thought, "I'm pregnant" pop into my head. 8 pregnancy tests later I called my doctor and asked if it was possible to get pregnant on Mirena. She saw me 30 minutes later.

I understand what you mean about "feeling pregnant." Whenever you're participating in a sexual relationship whether you are using protection or not, there is always that *chance.* I was on birth control and had been told I couldn't get pregnant, but my body felt different (dizziness, fatigue, etc) and I just knew.

A quantitative blood test can read the exact amount of hgc in your system, no matter how small or large the amount it. Some doctors use one as standard practice, others will use it if a pee test has been inconclusive, or negative but pregnancy is still suspected,. I had blood tests with all 3 of my pregnancies , first one because the ob/gyn's office i went to did blood tests on all women for pregnancy confirmation as standard practice, second because i suspected i was having a miscarriage and they wanted exact hcg levls to confirm that it was indeed a miscarriage, rather than just a heavy cycle, andf the third because the pee tests kept coming up negative, yet i had all the signs of pregnancy. I was pregnant but had low hcg levels that were not being picked up by urine pregnancy tests. Twice the doctors told me my exact numbers.
Having a blood test for pregnancy confirmation doesnt mean one is a druggie or might have STD's.
My brother in law did quantitative pregnancy tests when he was a general practioner, and a woman suspected pregnancy.
Perhaps mama is going by fetal age not gestational age.

I thought you "forgot to breed" Dopey, but then you say you have concieved a child, which is it? Or you just werent fit to mother what you bred?

Thats not "forgetting to breed".
I understand the pain of pregnancy loss, but its no reason to take that out on young mothers.
