Number one..... Kindness this is essential when things really get rough in life and they do more times than not.
Number two..... A good sense of humor..... somebody who will keep him laughing in good times and bad
Number three... Honesty..... We men need our feet held to the fire whether we admit it or not.
So quit worrying about the looks ladies .... just had to set things straight
OP -- Wow man, I think someone needs to lift your tail to make sure you still have a set hidin' under there. For a moment, I coulda sworn a woman wrote this...
Little too PC and flowery for my tastes. So here's a counter that I'd use instead:
Number one: Responsibility/Responsible -- this just means that I'd prefer to be with someone who understands life is not a game that we can do-over or keep plugging more quarters into, and life doesn't revolve around bars and clubs.
Number two: Integrity -- this is essential to survival with me. If you can't speak your mind and say what you mean and mean what you say, and keep your commitments...you're already wasting my time and boring me to death.
Number three: Beauty -- this is a no-brainer. I'm not talkin' about a VS supermodel or someone who can strut a catwalk...I mean REAL beauty. A beauty that appeals to ME in some way. There has to be some physical attraction there else this relationship won't get very far. I don't care if not a single other person on the planet thinks you're beautiful...as long as *I* do it's all gravy.
I'd like to agree with the OP that looks aren't that important, but I'd be full on lying. Looks will always play some role in a relationship, whether we want to admit it or not.

Many men seem to say they are nice, good, and honest, but then talk about dating these women who used and abused them, etc. Why do I want to date a man if he is attracted to women who use and abuse him or who lets women use and abuse him? Many of us want a nice, good, decent man who has a backbone who wants a nice, decent woman. No one can get stuck with anyone else, we all have the ability to walk away, many people just cannot seem to do it for one reason or another. | |

That sandwich is always special at the right time especially in the heart of a great game in football season, but grab one of the beers too. (oh how good it feels good to be spoiled).
Now after the game its for her.......
So what do I hope for mostly from a mate.
1. A caring best friend that respects and cares as I do for her.
2. A woman to drive me to be all I could be. (without any constructive criticism- argh) The motivation only a perfect mate can provide.
3. Oh yes - an always improving, creative, playful and exciting sexual relationship.

Posted: 7/23/2009 1:39:47 PM | HAHAHAA!!!! This morning/afternoon, ehhh, whatever, I would have to say my three would be:
1) Accountability: Knowledge is not wisdom, wisdom is not knowledge. I want a lady that can step up and bust my ass when I'm working too much, spending too much, or just whatever. I'm a Libra so I'm pretty well balanced, but I do have my weaknesses (i.e. tats, beer, Tahoe, etc). How about if she feels neglected she just speaks up? I'd be happy to do my best to get a couple days off or whatever I can swing to pamper her, in return she can gain that faith that I'm not the kind of man that doesn't care (cuz I do care, but I'm not a mind reader all the time). Now now, good golly Miss Molly!
2) Sunday morning snuggles: Oh hellyeah, her head, my chest, and a slow wake up. I'm not referring to sex, I'm actually referring to that slow, enticing, arousing communication about what's been goin down lately (you know, that closeness that burns a smile in your heart, your belly, and your head).
3) Integrity: Do what you do when you do, Digeradoo! Step up, fall back, but holy crap Batman, just do it.

That's funny...I read a lot about that on here...how women supposedly want a man with integrity/values/morals...someone who is real/loyal/genuine ...the passion in some of their profiles is almost heart warming......then you respond to them with honesty/truth and it soon changes...you never hear from them again or they try to only act sincere...not a whisper most cases since they continue their quest for the almighty GOLDEN GOOSE and some are pretty relentless...however a few weeks down the road after not seeing them on-line for a while they return claiming they met a loser with no backbone they had CHEMISTRY with and indicate there are no good men left.CAN YOU SPELL ANGRY & BITTER on top of being separated/divorced?LOVE it man...actually I find it quite hilarious/amusing...BLAH/BLAH/BLAH...just false advertising on their part and unfortunately only a minority people represent those words or know what they mean.Bottom line...dating needs luck and if you can't wait for the GOOD ONE the little ones you get stuck with will eventually kill you if you're not smart.

BDJ, didn't I write this same thread about two months ago, and for that matter said it better? Did the admin get rid of another one of my threads? I know you people hate me ; so, I wouldn't be surprised. But, I digress...

I'm going to put another header on this one: Intelligence. One thing I can't stand, is to see a woman I'd so badly want to go to bed with; yet can't even spell the word "smart".
Responsibility and intelligence have a common theme, don't they? Oh yeah!! Here comes that phrase you and I like to use.....COMMON SENSE! Gotta love it!

One more thing to add to this is RESPECT of your beauty. The idea of using it to some unnecessary advantage is what will be a potential mate's downfall.
Besides, if I can't look at my woman and think or exclaim "Heelllllllllooooooo, Nurse!" just once...I don't think we'll be together for too long.

Posted: 7/23/2009 4:28:59 PM | I'm sure everyone wants that. Unfortunately, when it's in front of a person it's rarely seen. Why? I guess it's society in general. Too many to experience. I was told internet dating is like a fast food menu. Too many choices. I guess that is true for some. Most of us don't play those games.
Faithfulness seems to be missing from that list. What good is the first three without it? | |
