with my heart in hand
at the mercy of a quill
my still empty mind
constantly would find
shallow words
rarely heard
for the gilded desire flew like Ikerus [sp?]
disintegrating in the white heat of the sunlight
even as the chicken scratches appeared
neatly versed and vaguely clear
my heart was pouring blood from my soul
encasing her fantasy with time tested toll
nothing else could occupy
with the thoughts of those eyes
those thighs
the cut of her dress
revealing more than needed to impress
putting this poor lad in distress
writing into the night
by candlelight
Oh you may wonder
what became of this blunder
that spell I was under
just lost its desire
when trying to wax seal that letter of love
I instead set it on fire.
