| For a Laugh- What movie would you base your life on as of now? Posted: 7/29/2009 6:46:16 AM | | I don't know if everyone remembers Harold and Maude, from the 70s. Not the end, where Maude kills herself, but the rest is just a study in teaching joy and social divergence. I love it. Maude keeps machines that emit smells and takes licorice sticks to funerals. | |

| For a Laugh- What movie would you base your life on as of now? Posted: 7/29/2009 1:09:40 PM | I have two. The first, for the men I encounter in real life, and the second for my online escapades…
Grumpy Old Men Grumpier Old Men
I guess I could just combine the two and say, “The Big Sleep”, because with these types always end up dozing off before I have a chance to tell them to "Get off my lawn!".
Seriously, reading the forums has made me realize that there are a LOT of movie-like situations occurring, but the title of the flick isn’t quite right. Ergo, I proffer these greatest hits…
“The Man Who Came to Dinner, but Wouldn’t Pay” “Guess Who’s NOT Coming to Dinner, Because They’ve Met Someone Else?” “It Happened One Night, and Now You’ll Never See Him Again” “Rebel Without a Job”

Hi fidelity- the John cuzak characters love for music and his lists and relationships bared lots of similarities

Citizen Kane. Oh, wait--he died loveless and alone.
The Godfather trilogy: Oh, wait--Michael Corleone died mourning the death of his daughter to the very violence he was trying to protect her from.
E.T.: Elliot befriended an alien who had to leave.
Are there any movies with a HAPPY ending? Maybe some romantic comedy with a bit of an edge, like Wedding Crashers. The two guys fell in love, but kept on crashing weddings...with their honies.
And how about any of the Rocky movies, Flashdance, Footloose, Staying Alive or any film where the lead character triumphs over seemingly insurmountable odds. OK, Rocky against the big Russian in IV was a bit of a stretch of believability...but "See? You cut him! He's bleeding! You hurt him! He's not a machine! He's just a man!"
