Wow this is really different

Women from where I live are always marrying military men!!

In fact one cold wench who was dating my friend broke up with him even though she went on how perfect he was while they dated for 7 months! One month later she is engaged to a military man!

Another one said to another one of my friends after being together for 10 months that he was the one! But after he proposed to her she was so pissed off that he wanted to marry her that she left him.

Two weeks later she is engaged to a military man.

So yeah military men have absolutely no problems getting women.

no, I couldn't be involved with someone who's job is to murder other people.

even the men and women who are on the front lines are fighting for a cause. murder is not the same as fighting for your country. dont even think about going biblical on the subject because even in the bible there are many cases of military men who are respected by Jesus and are commited religous men. if murder was on the same grounds as killing for your country then it would say different. secondly being in the military does NOT automatically mean you will kill people. millions of people spend years in the military and never kill anything. every job you can think of from musician, dentist, engineer, and chef can be under a military contract. dont reject somone because of thier career choice, whether its fighting on the front lines or working behind a desk. it happen that you will turn out to like that person.

Killing for your country is still killing. And realistically that involves killing innocent people.

Some wars are more justifiable than others. Eg. World War 2, at least the Allies were the good guys in that one. You can't say the same about the current conflicts. The current wars that Britain and America are involved in, i.e. Afghanistan and Iraq are just imperialistic wars for oil, in which it seems tens of thousands of innocents and several thousand Western soldiers have been killed, so that rich men in the oil and armanents industries can make even more money. The war against terror thing is just a pretext, and is a load of baloney. Everyone killed out there is a victim of evil money men in these industries.

Patriotism has to be the biggest con ever sold to the general public - it's a means by which the super wealthy get cannon fodder to fight their economic wars.

My deepest sympathy for all those killed out there and their families incidentally, war doesn't produce any winners. Sad that all this craziness still goes on.

I belive it can be all of the above. It takes a speacial kind of women to be able to date a man that can be away for a year at a time and might never come back as in the fact that we are now in a war and troops are dying almost every day it seems. booth partneres would have to be secure in her /him self to trust that he ( or she ) would not cheat on each other

job is to murder other people

..........and just who would you like to defend your right to live. Consider yourself exceptionally fortunate to be living in Alberta instead of another country that begins with ohhhhh lets say the letter " A " as in Afghanistan. Your research into the way women live and are treated there might just have a different affect on your opinions of "murderers". But alas, you are safe and secure where you live, until, the "radical Islamic terrorists" succeed in their mission in life. Sleep well.

I would date a military man. Get to miss him while he's away (makes the heart fonder etc) and have fun times when he gets back. Best of both worlds!

I wouldnt date a man JUST BECAUSE he's in the military just as I wouldnt date a man JUST BECAUSE he works in a bank- it's the man not the uniform.

As for sayiny that they are "all messed up"- well thats a big assumption and take a look on civvie street- plenty of "messed up folk there!

Murderers-

And just to add ...this trust issue, when he is away etc... same as any relationship, if there's no trust, no relationship
