Do you realize - Flaming Lips

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try
Try and try, you'll succeed at last

Persecution you must bear
Win or lose you've got to get your share
Got your mind set on a dream
You can get it, though harder them seem now

"Pipes of Peace"- - Paul McCartney

I light a candle to our love
in love our problems disappear.
But all in all we soon discover
that one and one is all we long to hear.

All round the world little children being born to the world
Got to give them all we can till the war is won:
Then will the work be done.

Help them to learn
songs of joy instead of burnbabyburn
Let us show them how to playthe pipes of peace
Play the pipes of peace.

Help me to learn songs of joy instead of burnbabyburn
Won't you show me how to play the pipes of peace
Play the pipes of peace.

What do you say?
will the human race be run in a day
Or will someone save this planet we're playing on?
Is it the only one?
What are we going to do?
Help them to see that the people here are like you and me
Let us show them how to play the pipes of peace
Play the pipes of peace.

I light a candle to our love in love our problems disappear
But all in all we soon discover that one and one is all we long to hear.

Hanson ~ Mmmm Bop ~ Performed by Craig Ferguson and crew
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYfl_XDGsPg

You have your many relationships in this life
Only one or two will last
You're going through all the pain and strife
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast (and they're gone so fast)

So hold on to the ones who really care
In the end they'll be the only ones there
When you get old and start losing you hair
Can you tell me who will still care?
Can you tell me who will still care?

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose
You can plant any one of those
Keep planting to find out which one grows
It's a secret no one knows
It's a secret no one knows

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

In a mmm bop they're gone in an mmm bop they're not there
In a mmm bop they're gone in an mmm bop they're not there
Until you lose your hair, but you don't care

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

Mmm bop, ba duba bop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du

Can you tell me, you say you can but you don't know
Can you tell me which flower's going to grow?
Can you tell me if it's going to be a daisy or a rose?
Can you tell me which flower's going to grow?
Can you tell me, you say you can but you don't know

Five Feet High And Rising
(listening to this last night, a few different lyrics came to mind... sorry... *grin)

My mama always taught me that good things come from adversity if we put our faith in the Lord.
We couldn't see much good in the snow flurry when they were causing us to have to stay home,
But when the snow went down, we found that it had covered a load of rich black bottom dirt across our land. The following year we had the wettest spring we'd ever had.

I remember hearing:

How high's the snow, mama?
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Two feet high and risin'

We can make it to the road in a homemade toboggan
That's the only thing we got left that'll slide
It's already over all the shoulders and the knoggin',
Two feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Three feet high and risin'

Well, the hives are gone,
I've lost my bees
The chickens are sleepin'
In the willow trees
Cow's in snow up past her knees,
Three feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Four feet high and risin'

Hey, come look through the window pane,
The bus was comin', but it's stuck again
Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more pain,
4 feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Five feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Five feet high and risin'

Well, the rails are covered north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the snow stops a comin' down,
Five feet high and risin'

Well, it's five feet high and risin'

The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Wolfgang's Big Night Out.
I don't need no foreign car
Movie Star
New guitar
A juke box in a funky bar
And one more night with you

I don't need no voodoo charm
Daddy's farm
False alarm
Ain't no thing can do me harm
As long as you are true"

I don't need no mojo hex
Bouncing checks
Another Ex
Shuffle in those poker decks
I'll go all in with you.

I don't need no pinky ring
Ba da Bing
One more thing
Love a band that loves to swing
And blast the whole night through

Lets go get us out of town
Double down
Lay around
All I needs a rockin sound
And one more night with you

Pap don't need another watch
Another chick
Another notch
Just pour me another Scotch
And one more night with you

I don't need no inside track
Deck thats stacked
Fade to black
I wont miss a thing I lack
As long as I got you

I just need my dog to fetch
Buck to stretch
Play some catch
I just need my big old Gretsch
These little things will do

I don't need no movie star
Foreign car
New guitar
A juke box in a funky bar
And one more night with you.

cbc's internet radio. the classical channel
josef suk. I've never actually heard that name before, don't know if he's one of the old dead guys or a newer guy.

edit: "Suk was born in Krecovice . He studied at Prague Conservatory from 1885 to 1892, where he was a pupil of Antonín Dvorák and Antonín Bennewitz. In 1898, he married Dvorák's eldest daughter, Otilie Dvoráková (1878–1905), affectionately known as Otilka.[1] He formed the Czech Quartet with three of his fellow students — Suk played second violin with them for most of his life. From 1922 he taught at the Prague Conservatory where his pupils included Bohuslav Martinu and Rudolf Firkušný. He died in Benešov."

Cyndi Lauper - Time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows you're wondering
If I'm ok
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time

You said go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

Palo Alto ~ Radiohead

In a city of the future,
It is difficult to concentrate.
Meet the boss, meet the wife,
Everybody's happy, everyone is made for life.

In a city of the future,
It is difficult to find a space.
I'm too busy to see you,
You're too busy to wait.

Well I'm ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking, thanks for asking.
Well I'm ok, how are you?
We hope that you are ok too.

Every one of those days, when the sky is californian blue.
A beautiful bombshell
I throw myself into my world
Today, I've been waiting for so long.

Well I'm ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking, thanks for asking.
Well I'm ok, how are you?
We hope that you are ok too.
