But alas?, no run-of-the-mill misogynist can (and aren't nearly all of them run-of-the-mill) "get it up" in the flirtation department of the written word - not even the PhD club.

But I don't think men have stopped flirting by any means. Lots of men I communicate with on here are flirting their ***s off.
I ran into a man the other day.... we had worked together for 20 years, flirted the whole 20 years. He was happily married to a wonderful woman and I had the sense to never take him seriously. He had the sense to never take me seriously. But we flirted like crazy, and developed a warm friendship.
Flirting on line is difficult. So much of flirting is involved with body language and eye movement. If i write a man and say " "I'm tired today" Doesn't mean much.
Give me that man in person and I can take the words "I'm tired today" and make them sizzle. Bet you can too. | |

I can testify with absolute certainty that there do exist men who are both erudite and lascivious, who can flirt captivatingly, without crossing the line into offensive, lewd or boorish couthlessness.
But, we've never even met! How could you know me so well? (had to say that since the straight line was so good!) Actually, I don't much flirt at all online, doing so primarily face to face. And, I only realized I was doing it after I got married, perhaps because I'm not trying to accomplish any prurient thing by the flirting -- just having fun.
I only wish I got good at flirting while I was single -- it might have been a much more pleasurable time than it was. | |

I have the same complaint.
I get so sick of having to qualify every valid complaint in here or get attacked by the same few people and you know who you are BUT, there are good men that do not fall into this category. I see them regularly.
THOUGH, most men always seem to need a crutch, but what burns me more than needing these things are the even greater number that contacts you with a massive open ended empty gap, EXPECTING you to start up heavy flirting and/or sex talk, because they are too lazy or insecure to do it themselves. And when you don't, then all of the lies they just told you fall flat as they disappear never to be heard from again. Great. Glad they disappear. My complaint is that SO MANY exist to begin with. It is creepy, gross and pathetic and says a lot of bad stuff about the bulk of the male population. All they want is for a mass majority of women to get them off over the internet and MAYBE if you intrigue them, they may pay you a visit to just have sex. How sick are this greater population of men these days, that I know are sitting here reading this and cheering for the men I and the OP describe??? | |

There are more women actively chasing men nowadays...and only for sex...exactly why do you think men are acting the way they do...many just assume cause you are online you will be a willing partner.
It isnt JUST the men...it's women also....so stop thinking that men are to blame...they arent and the ones who arent doing this are tired of hearing their sex blamed for it.
