Any single parents going back to school?

I went back to school in my late 20s. It was the best decision of my life. I now have a BA and MAEd, and I earn 4 times as much as I did before. It helped me in so many aspects of my life and really was THE factor is changing my life for the best. I would encourage any person to do this, no matter how hard it is. It gives you so much, including an increased earning potential. I would never have done many of the things I can do now if I had not gone back to school.

While it's tough to do, you just have to take it one day at a time. In no time, school will be behind you.

In Michigan where I go they have grants for returning adults and it pays for tuition, books, child care, some parking. So I do not pay out of pocket for anything for school. At this community college there are alot of people in thier 30's and 40's and older in classes. Of course the unemployment rate in Michigan! No I do not get treated any differently by friends or family, though sometimes by men off this site!

Im a sintle mother who is also in school. I received an assoc in Applied Science with a concentration on Paralegal about a yr ago and am now in school pursuing a Software Engineering degree. Although its boring me so im in the process to switching to Computer Forensics. I receive all grants and loans etc. Whatever it is I need to make a decision because these loans are piling . I refuse to stop school until I can be definite that Im going to be able to afford to pay my student loans. I'm working now for a temp agency and things are reall slow. Being in school also enable me to receive refund check every 3-6 months that provide me with a little extra money. So it def has its benefits.

I am in my 2nd year of college this year, going back to school for an associates degree i culinary arts along with a few certificates in Artisan baking and Deli/Bakery. I work fulltime and i have school fulltime (17 credits this semester) Plus i have my son half the week. When i work or am at school if he isnt with me then he is with my exhusband or my mom watches him. I dont make enough to pay for all my classes but by applying for scholarships and grants and working my a@@ off and getting good grades, i qualify for some help from financial aid. Its hard work and it isnt easy, but i enjoy what i do and i hope that in the future it will lead to me owning my own bakery.

I am a single mom who stays at home and I am attending an online college. I am attending the University of Phoenix to achieve my associates degree in accounting. It is very easy to attend school this way because I get to stay home with my 3 year old daughter and attend classes on my schedule. I have been attending school since April and my daughter thinks it is neat that she gets to help mommy with her homework, now she says she has homework.

My 1st day of school is the 8th of sept. I have two toddlers and I'm a single parent, I work part time @ a daycare and will attend school in the evening, get out in time to pick up my girls from daycare by 630, I know it'll be tough at times but I got the full pell grant and other grants cuz I have 2 kids on my own. There's also state asst. On daycare for students, that helps a lot! Also look into resourses, its tough but soon ill have a career, not just a dead end job and will be able to better support my girls! I'm excited!
