I am sure you will all have a fabulous time, and I will be raising a glass or two to wish Freddie a Happy Birthday. 
I hope someone is taking a video camera, to record events for posterity, youtube anyone?

I'm sure you'll enjoy the sight of all those (fairly) hunky blokes playing the wrong code a lot more - and cheers for your good wishes!
It's good to see some of my old mates signing up, some of whom I haven't seen since 2008!
For those who are nervous about turning up on their own, there is nothing to stop you emailing anybody on the sign-up list and explaining your predicament - I'm sure that they will be delighted to meet you outside and escort you through the door. The whole idea behind these events is to get people on the site connected to others, even if that connection takes place well before the event!
Try it, and let me know how you get on!

Yes, NT, you won't be the only 'meet virgin' there, nor will you be the only one turning up alone - your host is one of them! Get in touch with others on the sign-up list and arrange to meet them outside.
For those wishing to eat at the Blue Lagoon, it has an excellent menu at reasonable prices, and it's likely that I'll be dining there during the rugby league game around 6pm. I suggest that's a good time to be eating in the upstairs bar, because it does start to fill up after 7pm.
All the rooms are fully booked up, according to the pub, so that increases the chances of me sleeping on the beach......again

Thanks to all those who have emailed with their queries, and I hope you're all able to come along - signing up isn't necessary, just see how you feel on the night.
For those of you who live locally, this weekend affords you a chance to visit the Blue Lagoon without being surrounded by hordes of people from a dating site. Why not check the place out if you've never been there before? All the weekend's big games are shown in the Sports Bar downstairs, where you'll also find two pool tables and an abusive parrot (!).
Thanks, Lezley, for your singing suggestion - I'll certainly give it some thought, if not a little practice. I had the dubious pleasure tonight of watching the video of some of us 'singing' Bohemian Rhapsody at the Blue Lagoon last year - it's much improved with the sound off.
Sadly, none of the others in the video will be there to perform it next week, but you'll be relieved to learn that some of my old buddies from the force will be attending to hit the low notes........they'll also be hitting the beach, the bar, the pool tables and anything else which requires hitting!

Jul, clapping is good! We have to let the singers know that their efforts weren't wasted.
As for meeting up with others before the event, start sending emails out to others on the sign-up list, and let them know you're looking for someone to enter the pub with. I can't believe that no-one with do that for you.
Failing that, email me again nearer the day, and I'll arrange something for you.
I can heartily recommend Southwick beach, about half-a-mile from the Blue Lagoon. I've spent many happy hours sunbathing there, and it's quite secluded to ensure a good night's kip......bring a sleeping bag, and I'll show you the best bits!

The pub is showing the England game in the sports bar section downstairs, so that's an ideal way of slipping into the pub well before the karaoke - it's only a friendly, but who cares?
Col, the weather is looking fine for that day, so I won't be having any more 'wardrobe malfunctions' due to walking round in my shorts! Btw, what DID happen to my trousers?
It will be excellent to catch up with you!

I'll be shortly heading down to the coast for a chilled day in the sun, watching the footy scores in either the HPT or the Blue Lagoon, then deffo watching England in the Sports Bar around 5pm. I'll be the one wearing the rather tight Queen t-shirt which has lasted well for 23 years - I finally grew into it about a decade ago, then recently grew out of it...
Any early arrivals are more than welcome to join me at the Blue Lagoon for the game!
