Posted: 8/12/2009 4:25:34 AM | there are single mothers...you think they got them on their own? do not think so...anyways...it is a fact...a woman has needs...dating and socialising with the opposite sex...is fun and should be available...of course there are obstacles...a woman needs to set priorities...i have dated a single father...his child was his priority...he sees his son four days a week...it makes his more sexier...i find it very worthy of him...it shows his character...please do not compromise...children come first...do not be ashamed...and be wary...good luck | |

Nothings wrong with it, but at 26 a guy has many options that do not include the extra added bonus of some guys children. Honestly, if you had a choice of two great partners: one with a couple of kids and the other one with no children who is free to travel, go out, have sex in the middle of the kitchen table at 3pm on a Tuesday, work as many hours a week necessary to maintain your lifestyles, and never asks you to get up at 6 am to drive Jr to a hockey game. Who would you chose????
Dating a parent is almost as hard as being a parent. You have to expect to come in 2nd and revolve your dating around a child and possibly a sh1tty Ex neither one of which may like you at all.
I bow to the wisdom of this sage. She makes the words of this shinobi look like muddy weak things.
I can add no more on top of the wisdom from the mountains.
However...

Posted: 8/12/2009 5:02:27 PM | I have to agree with radiomark. I have two kids. I have just started dating after being married for 9 years. I do not mix parenting and dating. I date when I dont have my kids. I know there are alot of single parents who dont have that option because they have full custody. Being new to the dating scene I really haven't had any problems just a lot fun. I kinda see myself as two people. Single lady having fun and devoted mommy.
It would take alot for me to introduce my kids to someone I am dating. It would really have to be the real deal. Dating is hard no matter if you have kids or not. Good luck to all you single MAMA's. | |

Posted: 8/12/2009 6:24:35 PM | well jenny you dont know me but just a thought.most of those men are prob. afraid u are going to want them to be a dad.even if thats not what you want.or like you said they are scared to get close,or mabe you hsveing a child will have a effect on there lifestile. i have two kids and not much luck dateing.because of simalar things. and every girl i have dated that had no kids,said oh its fine, later on it wasn't.you see most men are:not grown up enough to adapt to a child if they dont have one. and a relationship with one of you haveing a child and not the outher is a big comitment. unless they like kids. .........most men are uncontrolable,unpredictable,and not very open to change,unless willing,and most of all DUMB! for not seeing that haveing a kid is a great blessing,and makes you a better person to have a relationship with.because it forces you to grow up fast,and be more mature than outhers.........keep ua head up you are a beautiful woman .and im sure you have alot going for you. the best things in life can not be rushed.relationships can there is someone out there for everyone!  | |

If only guys like you lived around here...i think i may start a forum devoted to local dads in my state. I've dated guys with and without kids..and honestly sadly..the ones who were the worst, were the dads...but YOU seem different...if only i could find more like you!!

Posted: 8/12/2009 10:12:11 PM | Well the one i dated a few times that i really seemed to connect with..seemed all excited and yadda yadda then boom stopped calling, writing anything...Stated he was trying to get custody of his kids, then planned to move back to Boston... When i stated, why are you up here then if thats the plan, of course he didnt really give me a straight answer, maybe it was me i guess..but dont get the logical part of it...and probably never will..
The other dad was great, knew me for 10 years, saw me again and acted like he was in love with me... We had many dates but never took it to that next level... When finally admitted after ignoring me for a while, that my ambitions didnt suit him (as far as travel nursing one day)..When i told him those dreams wouldnt necessarily mean i refused to settle down..he still acted distant.. I dont know...single dads, as much as i have in common with them, the ones around here, seem confused and or just want someone to have sex with..and thats it...
Single guys i do find i can revolve my schedule around more..and dont seem so confused as to what they really want...
as hypocritical as they may sound as the forum thread maker here.. | |
