Goodness they will be discussing skirt lengths next
Msg 21 Don't go giving them any ideas! I often ask pretty ladies in the supermarket to reach up for things on high shelves for me.
I wonder if any men were high heels in the work place?
All I can think of at the moment are cross dressing transvestites who might work in Pole dancing clubs!

| Should high heels be banned in the work place? Posted: 8/8/2009 3:12:53 PM | Lets put it this way, I wont be stopping wearing mine. We have a strict dress code at work, smart business wear...I cant imagine trainers or flip-flops or flat pumps being a good look with my pencil skirts and shirts...they cant have it both ways...what a load of bullcrap
Smacks of sexism to me, even my daughters grammar school banned the girls from wearing trousers in the bitterest winter weather, they couldnt even keep warm legs with thick tights or boots cos guess what? They were banned too.

Dunno about High Heels, but i have been banned from my other halves work place for meeting him at lunch time and sitting outside.. (so never went into the Factory) with Flip Flops on....
They sent him a letter saying i was Inappropiatly dressed as i had Flip flops on...
Its obvious with the recession going on and in the workplace at the moment both middle management [the layer between the upper managers and the lower managers who get stuff done on the shop floor] and shop floor workers are under stress and strain wondering about their jobs, pay cuts etc. When was the last time you heard about anyone in HR getting the bullet? Exactly! They have too much time on their hands with no one to hire, no one to fire, and so have to justify their existence with petty stuff like this all the time. Thats why your other half got the letter. Bet you if you had arrived when things were busy economically he would not have got that letter or any other one in fact!
As for the high heels...
When you ¨ban¨ something it draws an air of mystique to it and well to hell with the rules kind of mentality.... We all know the barbie babes who won´t part with the fake tan, bottle of bleach, cotton wool support for the bra and the all important and image enhancing red high heels.
On the other hand I know other women who when you take away their high heels from them they don't seem as confident about themselves or look as confident. I say leave it up to the women, if they want to wear them, wear them, pesonally I don´t care one way or the other. If she gets in my way on the fire escape, I will just use her to see how far from the bottom of the fire escape I am from listening for when she hits grounds zero
The only ones to loose out will be the foot fetish weirdos I suppose at the end of the day no matter what choice they make.

They are breaking the law if they do that. In my schooldays girls had to wear a skirt, even in winter, they don't get away with that now.

If your a man do you enjoy seeing a lady in high heels during the course of a days work? I like the look but I'm always suspecting there's damage being done it they are worn at length.
Banning wouldn't work but I think a change of shoes would be advisable for part of a whole work day.
'Heel walking' looks better now. I rarely see the 'bent knee' walk of old, in the days of white stilettos.

I think us women are perfectly capeable of deciding what shoes are better for us. If i wear flat shoes for a long time my legs hurt, heels are much more comfortable for me, plus i'm only a shortass so they help a little or people forget i'm there!

my eldest went to private school and they couldnt wear trousers , but they did allow thick tights..
in state schools though , they cant stop girls from wearing trousers.
as for high heels at work , if you want to wear them then do , they shouldnt be banned personally I prefer the smaller heel for daytime , but no-one should tell you what to wear on your feet or otherwise!

| Should high heels be banned in the work place? Posted: 8/9/2009 5:05:28 AM | I have a slection of shoes for work and I wear what I feel is appropriate on the day and of course what works well with my outfit. Most of them are stilettos of no more than 3 inches.
They are totally appropriate for my working environment, sitting at a desk or at a meeting table in a safe carpeted environment usually.
When work takes me to a building site I'll slip out of the nice shoes and don the flatties with covered toes that I keep in the car for such occasions and hard hat.
Give people some credit for making the right choices. However we've had to ban flip flops from our office building as we have had a number of unfortunate incidents with people wearing them and having accidents and have had to call time on them.

Posted: 8/11/2009 7:20:16 AM | | a few comments about flip flops, they are banned at my work place along with any open toed shoes (either sex) - that's a clear Health and Safety requirement but is part of our Dress Code which is probably a whole other thread.

But in the interests of equality, make them wear a stiff collar, buttoned up and a tie up against it, particularly when the temperature's up over 25 degrees and the humididy's rank. That way they'll have the opportunity to perform as well as men do in such conditions.

Having spent so many years in sensible flat shoes, I am really really bad in heels. I usually have to either lean against something or lie down in em cos i certainly can't walk..................

| Should high heels be banned in the work place? Posted: 8/11/2009 2:32:17 PM | I always like to lay down in my high heels but that is just my particular thing in the bedroom In my part time job as a pole dancer I must wear high heels. We tried it with flip flops, ballet pumps and uggs but it didnt really catch on. Though you can stuff loads of notes into a pair of comfy boots when you go upside down it all falls out and the punters snatch it back. | |

Very much so. So much in fact.... I think there should be a law whereby its compulsory for high heels to be worn in the workplace [at least for the ladies anyway].

On the one hand seeing sexy women use them to full advantage to show their talent to men. On the other hand the not so sexy women who look like they'll fall over with every step and look ridiculous. I'd miss them (but not as much as short skirts and low cut tops!).
