Posted: 9/5/2009 9:55:52 PM | Ive only been hit by a partner once and that was by a really insecure ex who used to start pointless arguements for no reason other than she felt she "needed" to have one. I wouldnt rise to the bait so on one occasion she turned to throwing things at me and trying to hit me to provoke a response!! luckily being stronger it was easy to restrain her without needing to hit her as such.
Oh and the level of patheticness of her arguement was just daft. I had flown over to belfast to see her and a friend back home asked if i could bring back some onion ring crisps, which i did, so her arguement in her psychotic little mind was that i flew all the way to belfast to buy some crisps and that seeing her was secondary!!! WTF!! And she expected me to argue over something as stupid as that???
Although in self defence i wouldnt think twice about hitting someone, male or female. As has been said, there are some very vicious woman out there who try and take advantage of thier so called "vulnerability" and the belief that men wont hit them back to get away with violence. | |

If I was hit by a woman, I wouldn't report it because the police woud probably laugh anyway. If a woman laid into me I would probably hit her back to make her stop, act like a man get treated like one is my motto. No comments on that statement please from the guys trying to win browny points with the women here, but that's how I feel. Other than that I don't agree with violence full stop.
I was out clubbing once and a woman pinched my arse, now if a man does that to a woman it's sexual assault and an arrestable offence. Well I said to the girl that she sexually assaulted me, because after all, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, and guess what? She slapped me! lol. Now if I had pinched a woman's arse and she said she would get me done, and I hit her, can you imagine all the fuss, doormen kicking my head in, other blokes coming to her rescue as an excuse to show off their bravado etc etc. Is there such thing as equal opportunities? Nope lol | |

There has to come a point where you put all these chivalrous thoughts to the back of your mind and start treating someone who is physically attacking you and doing damage as an enemy, regardless of sex, If some mad bird wants to act like a bloke swinging at me and kicking then she's gonna get treat like a bloke, having a pair of tits does'nt give anyone the right to assault a bloke and get away with it. | |

Ok, you'd hit someone back if they hit you but you don't believe in violence?
As for someone pinching your arse, believe me, it's not very nice to be standing in a pub and have your arse pinched full stop. If it's sexual assault and an arrestable offence
if a man pinches a woman's backside are you saying that if it happens the other way around it isn't? Maybe you felt like you couldn't complain because you might have looked like a bit of a twat saying to bouncers that a female had just pinched your bum, but you had the same right to complain as a female and you certainly could have complained about someone slapping your face. As for the police laughing, men have every right to complain if they are being abused by a partner, keeping quiet about violence is what continues the cycle.
Slapping someone back might not make them stop anyway as I'm sure many people who have been on the other end of violence could tell you.
Is there such thing as equal opportunities? Nope lol

Then, I am 6 ft 2 and she was a wee skinny lass about 5ft 3. That's not a fair contest.
There were a lot of blokes around who would have kicked the sh*t out of me if they saw me hitting a girl.
And I may have ended up in the police cells, again.

I've seen it and NO its NOT ON at all.. I've also seen someone (ex friend/s) continue to get away with it for a few years, when that didn't work then she filed for divorce.
If anyone loses their self control and hits anyone else they should expect to get hit back or to suffer some consequences of their actions

So a woman is allowed to assault a guy because she thinks so... 
People (both sexes) only strike out because they think they will not pay a price back. A completely different scenario will evolve if the bully is wary of getting the same by return.

For some people domestic abuse is tied up with a lot of mental abuse as well. I don't think it's about not paying a price back, you batter someone back who has hit you, it won't necessarily stop them doing it again.
People strike others because they have issues and that is a massive understatement in itself. | |

If you can't back it up, don't do it .........simple really.
If you feel it's an unfair contest , why enter the arena in the first place ??

Hopefully most men should never be provoked enough to take those measures in the first place. I know a bloke who has permanent eye damage using the restraint technique on his ex wife!!
Violence by men against women absolutely disgusts me as equally so doe's violence by women against men.

OK, but why berate people for claiming that they think it's OK for a man to hit back if attacked by a woman? The blame for the violence lies with the one who throws the first punch.
I always feel really sorry for the bloke but I would feel utter revulsion if I saw the man hit her back.

A lot of women these days are regulars at the gym, working out on weights, some learn to kick box etc, I'm sorry but these women can inflict a lot of damage and if I thought I had a choice of eating through a straw for a month or stopping some head the ball (male or female) in their tracks if I cant restrain them, then I'm going to protect myself by whatever means possible. | |
