I have been hit a few times. I suspect that my approach of smiling in the midst of a disagreement does not help. I find silly argument funny and I can't help but laugh or smile.
Arguably the worst thing you can do in such circumstances!
Let her have her rant, be contrite, and tell her how sorry you are for whatever you have done - never, ever, laugh at her! | |

As i said way back i have hit a man, only once , but he took it like a man he knew hed done wrong, he would never have hit me back.............................
Did you not think you had done wrong in hitting him in the first place?
I'm sure most of us can take a punch like a 'man' but why should we have to ?............surely if you have lost that respect in someone by hitting them you are not going to get that respect returned ?
Imo When violence is dished out by either sex it shows a lack of control , a lack of respect and a limited capacity of communicational skills. | |

As i said be 4 big difference in abuse and a slap, id take my slap if id done wrong from a man or woman.

Is there ? A hand, whether struck clenched or open in my books is an "assault" plain and simple and shouldn't be differentiated else we could argue the difference between a hard punch and a soft punch!! | |

Nope, what I am saying is that if you are going to use violence as a resort then you should expect to be met with violence as a consequence of your actions.
I know a pretty tough lesbian who puts the fear of god in many a man down her local boozer where she also doubles up as a bouncer and have seen her put quite few men on their arses over the years and has a violent criminal record to prove it.
If someone like this punched me would I stand there and "take it like a man" ? No way ........I would defend myself and punch her lights out and make sure she couldn't inflict further harm to me !!
If a female wants to fight like a man then she should expect to be treated like a man !! | |

I agree. I've been in fights with men (not boyfriends)... One of them took place in a taxi queue a few years back. The guy made the first move - he shoved me so I whacked him one. He belted me back and I returned the favor with a swift right. We both walked away with a few cuts and bruises. I don't give a rip. B*stard probably thinks twice now before he thumps a woman. Some of us fight back. | |

So having smacked my children in the past on their hands and legs that makes me a child abuser... I think not i hold an enhanced CRB

And no fighting involved just a slap and yes id do it all over again if the need ever arose!!!!!!!!!!!.

In some peoples eyes yes it does ......but to return you back on topic the subject is about 'Women hitting men' and not children !!

You could be built like mike tyson and if some tiny woman punchs you, then you can still punch them back as long as you dont use excessive force.
Just because someone is capable of punching hard due to thier size doesnt mean they automatically need to use all thier weight behind a punch, nor does it mean that because you are physically stonger than your opponant then you shouldnt be allowed to defend yourself using reasonable force.
Restraining someone almost always risks further injury to yourself, punching them in the face is no direct risk to yourself......
Again theres nothing in the self defence laws saying you should take a hit first either!!!! | |

It's not so funny for those who have been abused by someone who has passed the CRB checks !

Just to clear up any confusion here .......no one has disputed that you can't hit someone, no one has called you a child abuser and no one has said you can't hit out again ....... in fact you are in agreeance that if you do hit out you are happy enough to face the possible consequences?
The biggest clue I can give is that the OP did not write the topic with just you in mind or your past circumstances alone and everyone's feedback/posts do not revolve around just you but generally.
