Who ever ends the relationship gets over it first. For those of you who will mention an example like, I dumped him because he was cheating on me, he ended the relationship by cheating.

Sadly...or perhaps...fortunately, no particular sex has the monopoly on hurt, anger feelings of rejection. It would seem to me that perhaps both of you need to reflect on your actions. You mention that you had been insulted by him, shot a reply which was deleted yet still found a way to send a cruel "but justified" (in your eyes anyway) response. It's obvious that you both want the last word. How bout' you just tell each other "good bye" and leave it at that. I believe that I have addressed two issues here. Now, on to the first issue again.... I think that men tend to try forgetfulness of hurt, rejection, etc., in the arms of another woman. Women tend to internalize and think it through more often than not (this is a good thing...go women) but sadly, they will often start to blame themselves or become so afraid of being hurt that they will make the "I don't need a MAN! proclamation." So, in the end...who knows? You just end up with a lot of guys trying to forget, hurting a lot of women who become afraid, etc., etc. I guess it just boils down to this....if men and women didn't enjoy each others company so much we'd end up killing each other. Hmmmm..... maybe I'm weird. I've taken a long time to get over breakups even when I was the one who ended it.... longer than the women I broke up with, as far as I can tell. I become very emotionally attached to the women I'm with and tend to have a lot of second thoughts/regrets when things don't work out. Then again, I'm probably atypical for a male....
