| Women will fight in 2012 Posted: 8/15/2009 11:02:44 AM | Des Kelly in today's Daily Mail reveals the three weight categories ..........
* The 'This mirror makes me look fat ' category.
* The 'This is never a size bloody 10' division.
* And the heavyweights, or the ' Kerry Katona Class' as it is also known.
He then comments " This must be the first time in newspapers the words 'class' and 'Kerry Katona' have been used in the same sentence."

who in their right mind would want to watch two grown sweaty athletic women fisting each other in the ring till someone gives in? Or men....... why anyone wants to watch two people bashing hell out of each other is beyond me, go SJS, and, as Oggers implies most of society sees it as a bit of a no no, not just in Bury but in the streets outside pubs and clubs in most town centers.

I expected better of you There is a lot more to boxing than two people 'bashing' each other...
most of society sees it as a bit of a no no
That is true to a degree, but I wonder why that is? Surely, it is not to do solely with health risk? I imagine a higher percentage of people die/get injured from crossing the road
The sport is making a comeback in state schools too, which may help change how the sport is viewed by some

but in the streets outside pubs and clubs in most town centers.
Are you still on about boxing here? If so, what goes on outside/inside pubs, clubs, etc is not boxing, that is street-fighting, the two are not even comparable

| Women will fight in 2012 Posted: 8/15/2009 4:26:24 PM | | Women should be allowed to box, im glad they have finally been given the go ahead, i wish I was younger and fitter to take advantage of this as its something i've always done and loved, Jane Crouch has been boxing since 95' (way before that but these are acredited results) only taken 14yrs to get to the olympics. Nice to see sexism is alive and well on the forum though, along with crass remarks about weight, I never usually bother with fatty remarks being one myself i cant be arsed with it, but some of you should really know better. | |

Women boxers will compete at the London 2012 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee has ruled
They will fight at three weight divisions after the IOC's executive board ruled that boxing would no longer be a male-only event.
Should women be allowed to box , we all know the hell cats on a saturday nite after few cheeky vimtos or is now the world truely equal both men & women able to knock seven bells out of each other in name or sport
I hate to burst your bubble but women are no longer required to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen any longer.
so.
Deal with it.
I'm all for a good Cat fight ....so yes let them fight.

Its about bloody time!
Should women be allowed to box? Get a grip....women can do more or less anything guys can, well appart from the sperm bit anyways.
I used to do alot of boxing myself and its great to see. You see the girls ripping chunks out of eachother on friday nights after a few beers, you also see guys doing the same thing but put either of those in a ring and it would be a different matter.
